Cryx might be the main "evil" power in Warmachine, but they sure get some cool kit! Andy and Darrell take a look at the Cryx Plastic Warjack kit that makes the Desecrator, Harrower & Leviathan.

Not that it REALLY matters, but yet again you have missed to actually show the under cam shots.
But I built one of those kits and from what I’ve heard about the metal kit its a HUGE improvement as I put mine together very easy.
Sadly never got a chance to actually try the Jack out but I’ll eventually get round to it.
@whiteyin sorry about that, that’s the video fixed now.

For what it’s worth, none of these are outright bad, they just don’t slot in to the cryxian way of battle intuitively. Cryx have very few ranged weapons though and these three jacks bring some of the best in the faction without losing a whole lot of melee punch. Immunity to knockdown and pathfinder on this chassy is very good as a whole.
I haven’t seen the desiccator yet since the kit is still rather new, but it seems like a nice skirmishing jack. Scather cannot be underestimated as a form of protection: shoot your own corrosion-immune model and it is now all but immune to non-reach infantry.
I know the Leviathan has a good interaction with eSkarre’s black spot. The spiker has also been erratta’d to affect huge bases at the same strength as large bases, so the levvy is solid at harassing a colossal or doing a number on battle engines. He’s starting to carve his niche in mk2.
Ghost shot is such a good rule the harrower is probably the most popular of the bunch.
1. Thank you for the video. It was very entertaining and informative.
2. As usual I don’t have cards/force book to hand but I THINK with Soul Taker the Harrower does indeed take souls as you said, but they do not convert to focus. Which is good. Focus cannot be retained from turn to turn, but Soul tokens can. I think the maximum it can retain is three. Apologies if I am mistaken. Once it gets soul tokens it should be devastating to enemy infantry but in action I find it tends not to do so well. That could just be me.
3. Leviathan’s natural choice of caster would be pSkarre, as she is about the only one who can generate enough focus via Ritual Sacrifice, (and of course in her Shore Leave tier list she can only take ‘crab-jacks’), but that is not guaranteed every turn, and most people use her as an infantry leader. Nine points of warjack that will perform in fits and starts, at best, makes a dent in her lists.
Mortenebra is also supposed to be a good choice but I have never used her so cannot comment. formidable indeed. As stated above, Epic Skarre is another candidate.
4. Desecrator. To get my points worth out of it I would have to take it with Banes. Solution to the problem of proximity would be to have one token Bane model way out on the edge of command range to trigger the one focus point gift. Don’t as yet own it.
Possibly use with Epic Asphyxious so the Scather shot can be stacked with his Caustic Mist clouds to create a barrier across the board. He has seven focus. One focus point to upkeep his Hellbound no-chargee spell, cast Caustic Mist three times for the remaining six focus, fire off one Scather shot=4×3″AOE =12″ barrier to something. Then again, space them with less than 30mm gap between them and you are looking at? 76×4+3×25=304+75=379mm barrier.
With respect to a more knowledgeable writer on another forum; top tip – Seduce something with a Warwitch Siren, and then send it on the scenic route via the AOE/Clouds.
Immune to Corrosion troops? Off the top of my head all I can think of is Gorman Di Wulfe, and Khador Assault Kommandos, whom I have not met very often, and, (clearly), are not about to work for us. Keeping Gorman safe has great appeal because he is so useful to Cryx. The solution to him inside a corrosive cloud would be the AOE shot that would otherwise be despatched towards the Desecrator to hopefully straddle the Banes. However useful the Desecrator’s gun, with its pathetic range it is always going to be playing up front and thus vulnerable unless the synergy between it and the Bane ___ is working particularly well.
5. The metal versions were an utter pain to assemble. I think It took me weeks to realise that I was not doing it wrong. No matter how I positioned the legs, they do not all fit on the base. Cue rather dynamic basing choices, and a fair few raised eyebrows from opponents wondering if I’m blagging the model’s reach, (as opposed to Reach).
The leviathan is awesome with Mortenebra. Just park it in front of her and have it use all her focus for a load of boosted shots.
All in all though, the harrower has the most uses. I hate playing against that guy.
They are all lovely models but I am not feeling any of them game play wise and I have never played a game using deep water so there amphibious ability seems mainly redundant.
I have the harrower, atleast the metal version which is loaded full of pins and still rocks a bit. However, It is beast at 10 points when playing against heavy unit based lists. Doesnt matter the faction it clears things up nicely . I would always make it one of my first wave of money jacks. Right next to the death jack they play nice together and both create there own focus so I can tend to my second wave assault, focus wise.
