New Players Drafted Into Your Guild Ball Teams!
March 21, 2014 by brennon
Guild Ball has some more awesome snippets as it winds down after a very successful Kickstarter. Check out two new players below for the Butchers and Morticians as well as a painted up figure thanks to Golem Painting Studio.
Above are Meathook for the Butchers Guild and Casket for the Morticians Guild. I don't imagine your final journey towards being six feet under would be quite as relaxing if you were strapped to the back of that hulking giant.
Once again though we have a pair of ace characters that you can add to your team roster. Talking of awesome characters we have a painted version of Shark thanks to Golem Painting Studio.
Now that is pretty awesome. Golem do plenty of great work and it's good to see them taking to the pitch and painting up the characters from Guild Ball. My favourite bit about him is that ace 'warpaint' he has over his eyes and of course that incredibly detailed face.
Have you got your final pledges in?

Love it, love it, love it. I can not recommend this KS highly enough – there was a live 3D sculpting session streamed on twitch with the creators last night for goodness sake and higher level backers are going to be involved for months in all areas of it’s development. Really top notch stuff (unsurprising as Mat is a video game project manager for some pretty big titles).
This one came out of nowhere for me and really marks a shift in my attitude towards mini KS going forward I think. Don’t get me wrong for a second, I LOVE freebies and just recently backed DBX at Rampage level for exactly this reason but GB is something else entirely and I’m ashamed to admit I would have greedily dismissed it out of hand as just “not enough free stuff” only a few months ago – how entitled does that make me sound? I think we’ve all been a bit spoiled my KS projects as generous as Mantic’s and now expect the same from everyone, regardless of the size of company, scope (and aim of the project), experiences with crowd funding, quality of models produced etc.
Don’t get me wrong Mantic, Reaper and other companies produce great value decent minis – but these are night and day in comparison – truly works of art. I’m also having to accept that after many KS now I have cupboards groaning with free minis (and hundreds if not thousands to come) – what am I going to do with them anytime soon? It’s almost like an obsessive “I have to buy this while the offer is so good in case I miss out” that has got me on numerous occasions.
With something like GB I can spend whatever I want and get some top quality minis that will be a joy to paint and because there’s only 6 per team – you know what, you’re damn right I’m going to be using them pretty soon in games and getting pleasure from what I’ve pledged for straight off the bat.
I don’t want to go over the top but this experience has really changed how I’ll be looking at KS and my hobby purchases going forward…well until the next big KS…but that’s exactly my point as collectors we are so susceptible to KS projects!
Anyway – these are good guys with great intentions using KS for exactly what it’s designed for so I implore you guys to take a look while it’s still there!

This is the only KS I’m backing at the moment that I’m a little unsure of. Simply because of the theme I think. I’ve never been the sportiest person. The models produced so far are fantastic though. I wish my Shark was going to look that good!
Looking good decided to back at 4 teams level – which four are the question – butchers are a definite, was unconvinced at first but weekend and sculpting sessions etc have won me over. This is much more of a would never happened with out KS than some others. Was this or Forgotten king – but forgotten king is going to roll out without the backing – and this has an appeal. Already thinking of a modular urban board for this/malifeux/mordhiem/small scale warhammer.
Im starting to like the look of this.
