About the Project

I have a massive back log of unpainted Judge dredd miniatures. I often tell my wife that I want to get it painted so we can play the game, but usually get side tracked with something else. I decided to use the spring cleaning challenge this year to finally get it done. While I have figures from Mongoose games and some 3D printed stuff, I will be focused on completing all of the figures I have from Warlord games current line.Thats 95 figures once I take away what I have painted. This is my first time joining a challenge, and between work and life I’m not sure I will complete it in time. What the hell, lets try!

Chopper takes to the sky

This is one of the old metal minis from Mongoose Games version of the Dredd tabletop game. It is one of the more derpy looking ones, but it was a fun paint. I looked at some old comic covers and did a mashup of two different boards that Chopper used. I am no pro painter, but I think it turned out good enough.

We came close to finishing all of our Dredd minis, but we’re not quite over the finish line yet. Mrs. PIGM00 has decided to start splitting her time between the remaining 2000AD minis and the Multi Award Winning Moonstone. I can’t blame her though, I have a pile of shades that I can’t wait to jump into! For this update, She has completed some more of the ape gang while I worked on fatties, surfers, and Walter.

We were both very shocked when we showed up in the Spring Clean Challenge video! It is all very cool, there are so many awesome projects. Thanks to the entire OnTableTop crew, this contest was great motivation to finally get this collection done! Now that we have joined into this event, we are already looking ahead to Terrainfest! The 3D printers are running non stop and we are waiting for some great fall priming weather to spray some huge boards.

Mrs. PIGM00 has added to the Dredd collection by starting the ape gang box and the gorilla gangster blister pack. I think they all look great, and she loves painting the old derpy metal minis too. While she was painting them, I worked on the East Meg Invasion box, and got all of the judges done. Now onto the fun part, the giant spider robot!

Mrs. PIGM00 completed another round of citizen mob members, and they look great! Now that the challenge is done and we are just pushing through the rest of our Dredd collection, some of the old metal minis from Mongoose are starting to get attention. This week Kenny Who and Pyrokinetic.

I thought I would share some pictures of the Acid House Terrain cyberpunk city set I just received. This was a Kickstarter that was featured on this site and I really think it is a great value if you want to fill an entire table and not have to paint anything. If you like what you see, it is all on sale with some deep discounts on Acid House’s website. It is unfortunate that Acid house just announced that they are the latest victims of the current economic shitstorm of tariffs and high costs.

Anyway, the set also came with several sheets of signage and scatter terrain that I have not gotten built yet. It all looks awesome as well. I think this will work great for any sci fi and cyberpunk setting. I will be using it for Dredd along with my Tinker Turf while I work on the massive MDF city board that I am going to start painting up (See last post pics).

In total we completed 69 individual minaturesIn total we completed 69 individual minatures

It is the day after the spring clean challenge and I consider it to be a total success! My wife and I set out to make a dent in our backlog of Judge Dredd miniatures and we managed to complete 69 individual minis. We still have around 20 from Warlord and around 20 from Mongoose, so the end is in sight! I wanted to set them up and get some group shots just to see them all together. It has been a blast, Thanks to the OnTableTop crew for getting us motivated to finally get these done!

Cursed Earth Mutants

This challenge has really been awesome. I have had these Dredd miniatures on my shelf for so long and always said that I wanted to get to them. This was the push I needed and the wife even jumped in and helped! I didn’t quite finish all of them, in the US we work too damn much and time is limited. I do plan on pushing through the rest and will continue to post them. I would like to make one last post tomorrow with a count and some group shots, but for now I am off to see some live wrestling TV tapings in Pittsburgh!
