You will soon be able to dive into an Ancient nautical wargame with a new starter set for Thalassa. You might remember Thalassa and the two-player starter set that was available through Sarissa Precision. Well, a one-player version is now up for grabs on North Star Military Figures' store.

Thalassa One-Player Starter Set

Thalassa One-Player Starter Set

Thalassa has been designed as a skirmish-level naval wargame set against the backdrop of the classical period, commanding the city-states of Athens, Corinth, Sparta and Crete battling it out for control of both the land and sea.

This set comes with everything that one person would need to get started in Thalassa. You have enough for both casual and competitive games, featuring three triremes and two penteconter. They are each individual and can be built to suit different tastes. In terms of materials, they are likely to be 3D printed resin (probably via NG Castings) but showcase some of the nice options available as part of the Thalassa range.

You will also get your fleet command dice, tokens, templates and then the full-colour, softback rulebook! There are also a couple of quick reference sheets, which will give you options for checking out details during the midst of gameplay.

The Rulebook is also available separately if you'd like to just pick that up.

Thalassa Rulebook

This contains plenty of background on the period of the Hellenic classical world but there are also ways for you to take a more mystical and fantastical approach to Thalassa if you'd prefer. As mentioned, there are rules covering Sparta, Athens, Corinth and Crete as well as six scenarios. You'll also find a full list of rules and upgrades for your ships and crews so you can fine-tune your fleet to suit your needs.

As mentioned, there are ways for you to explore Thalassa in different ways. You can head over to MyMiniFactory to check out the STL Files, go to NG Castings for more ships and you can grab the two-player starter set via Sarissa Precision. You can also find out more about Thalassa via Facebook.

Could this new one-player set and the separate rulebook drag you into naval wargaming?
