Snap Up Mighty Mycenaean Warriors From V&V Miniatures

V&V Miniatures has introduced another set of ace, Historical 40mm scale Ancient figures to their collection. This time, they're going Mycenaean Greeks with a handful of new warriors.

This set features a collection of miniatures that would be perfect for painters and enthusiasts to get stuck into. What's fascinating about this collection is that it mirrors the Mycenaean warrior culture and the various changes in arms and armour that they implemented as part of their evolution in warfare practices.

For example, you have the typically heavily armoured infantry that would have four with spears and large shields. However, you'll also note the addition of lighter weaponry that was developed by the Mycenaeans over the course of their history. Namely, the introduction of maces and axes, with swords taking on a more secondary role in combat.

You also have those classic horned helms and the boar's tusk helmet, which is linked to Mycenaean armour from the very beginning through to the collapse of their culture.

Whilst these 40mm miniatures might not be much use for your wargames, you could use them as a great painting project and a stepping stone for you to look into the Mycenaeans as an army in a smaller scale.
