Victrix Miniatures has given a first look at the upcoming plastic set for the 28mm Medieval Islamic Horse Archers. The set should be coming up for pre-order very soon for use in your Crusade-era wargames.
Islamic Horse Archers - Sprue // Victrix Miniatures
These horse archers were the backbone of Islamic armies throughout the Medieval period and particularly during the Crusades. This set allows you to build the Seljuk and Turkoman archers with a wide variety of head options that represent the diverse nature of the Islamic world. The first sprue comes with all of your riders and their various options. The other comes with a great array of horses.
Islamic Horse Archers - Mounts // Victrix Miniatures
The horses from the folks at Victrix are always packed full of detail. You get the sense of them charging across the battlefield, the wind whistling past as they loose arrows into the midst of heavily armoured knights.
If you're interested in getting a closer look at the heads for these new archers, Victrix put together a neat showcase of what you'll get to play around with.
Islamic Horse Archers - Heads // Victrix Miniatures
The Turokman tribes fought as auxiliaries within the Seljuk and Islamic forces. They were famed for their mounted archery skills and the ways that they could adapt to the changing flow of a battle. Another great new set of miniatures from Victrix that could be used for expanding Crusade forces.

“Islamic” is such a weird name for them – I doubt this was the only kind of horse archers available to the Muslim forces.
