Paul Hicks Sculpts The Towering Earthbound For Warhost
February 27, 2026 by brennon
The folks behind Warhost, the Fantasy wargame from Hobday & Hicks, have shown off another awesome new miniature that will be joining the Dwarves soon. The Earthbound Sentinel will be stomping into battle alongside the rest of the Dwarves to protect them from harm.
Earthbound Sentinel // Warhost
Sentinels stand around ten to twelve feet in size and are informed from enchanted stone, shaped by the delicate use of runic earth magic and the power of individual Dwarves. The strict traditions of the Dwarves control the Earthbound Sentinels and each one of them fulfils a role when put into play by their creators.

Each of the Sentinels also features an intricately designed faceplate, as you can see above. They are carved to resemble Dwarven Warriors, perhaps calling back to legendary heroes that once fought alongside the Dwarves in times gone by. They are clear of emotions and suited to the grim task of dealing with the enemies of the Dwarves.
Earthbound Sentinel (Rear) // Warhost
Paul Hicks is the man behind the sculpt for the Earthbound Sentinel. As with all of Hick's work, it looks the part and will work very nicely alongside the rest of the work that he has done for the Warhost range. It actually looks even better once you see the green version!
Earthbound Sentinel (Scale) // Warhost
This all comes from some of the excellent artwork that sits behind Warhost and really brings the world to life. We already have some excellent miniatures for the Elves and Orcs of Warhost and the Dwarves are not far behind. It all works for me as I am a massive fan of Middle-earth and these miniatures truly draw on classic art and design from The Silmarillion and the early years of Middle-earth as presented during those stories.
Earthbound Sentinel (Art) // Warhost
Warhost certainly does its own thing, though. Andy Hobday does an excellent job in writing up the background for the world and that's one of the things that makes Warhost so enticing to dive into.
Are you going to be picking up the Dwarves?
