Some new sets will be added to the mix for Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 soon. These fit around the Eye of Terror supplement, which follows the unfolding events leading up to the end of 10th Edition and the start of 11th Edition.

Combat Patrol Iron Warriors - Warhammer 40K

Combat Patrol: Iron Warriors // Warhammer 40,000

We start with a new Combat Patrol for those wanting to play as the Iron Warriors. This Combat Patrol is led by a Warpsmith who can do as much damage from range as he can when up close and personal. The rest of the Combat Patrol is made up of ten Legionaries, five Havocs and five Chaos Terminators. A solid starting point for an Iron Warriors army.

The Combat Patrol also comes with the new Iron Warriors Upgrade Frame, which features unique heads and shoulder pads to customise your miniatures. There is also a transfer sheet in there as well, so you've got different ways to customise your force.

New Eye of Terror Battalions

The forces of the Imperium are going to need some support when dealing with this new Iron Warriors threat. Three new Battalions are coming, each introducing some seriously heavy firepower into the mix.

Eye of Terror Battalion Sons of Dorn - Warhammer 40K

Eye of Terror Battalion: Sons of Dorn // Warhammer 40,000

The Sons of Dorn is a handy set for those looking to run the Ceramite Sentinels Detachment in their games of Warhammer 40,000. Armour is the name of the day here with two Repulsor Executioners, a Ballistus Dreadnought and a Redemptor Dreadnought. You also get a Black Templars Upgrade Frame so you can customise your walking killing machines.

The Adeptus Mechanicus also get some new walkers and vehicles to play with as part of their own Battalion.

Eye of Terror Battalion Adeptus Mechanicus - Warhammer 40K

Eye of Terror Battalion: Adeptus Mechanicus // Warhammer 40,000

The Adeptus Mechanicus are at the forefront of the current clash with the Iron Warriors, battling them on Agripinaa as the Cadian Gate is breached once more. This set comes with a selection of armour to support your force on the tabletop with an Onager Duncrawler, Ironstrider Ballistarius (Sydonian Dragoon) and the Skorpius Dunerider (Skorpius Disintegrator).

I go through periods of quite liking the look of the Adeptus Mechanicus and then at other times I find their range of miniatures just a bit too fiddly. I think if you approached painting these from a Blanchitsu perspective, you could have a lot of fun.

Last but not least, we have the Imperial Knights striding into battle with a new Battalion.

Eye of Terror Battalion Imperial Knights - Warhammer 40K

Eye of Terror Battalion: Imperial Knights / Warhammer 40,000

This set comes with the towering Knight Valiant that can punch holes in even the deadliest of daemon engines that the Iron Warriors can throw at you. That new Defiler that's on the way won't stand a chance. The Knight Valiant is then backed up by two Armiger Warglaives who act as your squires whilst the knight stomps into the heart of the action.

The miniatures can also be built in different ways. The Knight Valiant can also be a Knight Castellan and the Armiger Warglaives can be Armiger Helverins.

Are you going to be picking these up alongside the Eye of Terror supplement?
