Is there a place to get a PDF of that map?
Hi ruggedseahorse. Check out the Downloads section of the Wrath of Kings website. At the bottom of the dropdown menu you’ll find the map. Hope that helps : )
Thank you.
Looks great, lot’s of good suggestions – especially the rocks!
Terrain always makes the table for me. There were some awesome dioramas built for the various factions back at the start of the WoK, I’d use those for inspiration.
Even though they say you don’t need much terrain, I would love to do a densely packed forest board filled with 4Ground trees.. and then maybe spray them a really dark blue / purple from underneath and a white / silver on top. Placed on a really dark gaming mat you would have the perfect hunting ground for a Goritsi pack!
This is a great idea!!!
4Ground terrain is always top notch. Sure they are more expensive than others, but the quality is second to none.
I would add that plenty ofg Wolsung/micro art terrain would fit perfectly too.
Really enjoying these vids. The wrath of kings week is very cool. Wouldn’t a lot of the Asian buildings available work well for shael Han? I don’t have the game yet so not sure what the art work shows :p
Frost covered terrain for house goritsi …..great can use all my frostgrave stuff WIN!
Good stuff guys…. I have just every 4 ground fantasy buildings… so I’m looking forward to do some city/town based games. Outside of that I have some forest and mountain based terrain. 90% of my terrain pieces are 4ground. My gaming mats are from gamematz.com I live in the USA so gamematz are easier to purchase for that reason. Their ProMatz are really nice. They use a fabric instead of Mouse pad material and it’s really nice stuff.
I have a bid collection of 3×3 sized mats because of the skirmish type games I play usually require that size. Personally for warband sized matchups the 3×3 mats are nice. But when you have the larger model counts it’s nice to have a little more room. I’ll be looking into so more 4×4 mats soon.
Really liked the explanations and the world map too
This game looks great. The factions really give it an opportunity for loads of variations.
Good to see that re-using existing scenery pieces (mats, buildings, scatter & natural scenery) is encouraged. Reassuring!
Really looking forward to my first game of this.
Luckily there are lots of terrain building companies out today so that shopping around is an option. I will need to get some buildings but defiantly more trees.
Cool world map. Will be really neat to make some faction specific terrain. Like the Dragon statue idea.
Great tips. Definitely useful in the future.
I’m making some based on the showcase tables that they use for the studio shots. The creator of the tables has some step by step blogs showing how to do them. I just mimic the steps as close as I can and it looks good for what its meant for.
Really like the theme of these tables.
Stunning! Definitely borrowing some ideas for my table.
nice advice
Love that there is a video based on how to make a table, especially making it fit the theme of each of the factions.
Cool 🙂
i didnt even consider painting the 4ground stuff a different colour, its got me thinking now though
I really didn’t want to like this game as I’ve got so much on the go right now but damn it’s really hard not to want to start playing!
They spongy stuff is definitely on my to-buy list.
Very cool. This should be a must for all games really.
Some good suggestions here. I’m going to have to invest in some of 4ground’s buildings.
Need to figure out how to make pop-up structures like those rocks!
For the Shael Han I would love to see a board that’s working it’s way up a stairway to a temple a top. It’s not the biggest but TTCombat do a oriental looking building.

You could even put in some real bonzai trees.
Great contest thanks
Great show. Lots of cool tips and inspiration for future boards.
I like how versatile this table could be. Lots of games would work on this set-up
Another excuse to use my 4ground buildings and get some more. Russian cottages for Nasier and Goritsi countryside coming up
I’m practically jittery with excitement – and waaaaay too much coffee – to do a really cool 4′ x 4′ aquatic board for Hadross. It’s an environment you really don’t see all that often in games and it should be incredibly fun to do something so creative.
great terrain!
As important than a painted army and a mate to play is a great gaming table, someday i will build my wolsung board and be amazed about the stuff i have, also fabled range for 4ground is awesome but for now i had to manage to build up paint and store the mas board i had!
I really need to get into building up some terrain, its something I’ve been meaning to do for ages but haven’t got into it mainly due to I space. But that’s given me a lot of ideas to work with, if only I had a 3D printer I could create some stuff in Zbrush and print it out so I’ve sized it correctly to fit the models so I could have them hiding within enclosed areas. Hmmm that’s something to think about.

Well that didn’t work.

Sponge terrain looks great
Those pop up rocks are cool.
Nice looking terrain.
Terrain is such an underrated part of miniatures gaming. I think it is actually more important aspect than the miniatures themselves for immersion. However, rarely I have been able to play on a table that I think really does the setting justice. I am glad to see a video going over what could be used to generate Wrath of Kings tables.
that was a pretty awesome little segment
It’s so awesome that the Wrath of Kings guys can talk about another companies products, to add to their game. It shows the community we have, which is a small one to remind us this is a niche hobby. Why divide the community into even smaller groups? GW could learn to share a little, eh?
Of course, when you believe that you made the entire industry what it is? Why share?
Got a winter drybrushed set of 4grounds ruins ready for WoK.
Would love to see a big temple asian style board
Love the 4ground buildings, great to see that they’ll fit in well with this game. I may have to get more of the fantasy ones now!!
What did you use for the cobblestone for the demo game?
@blaeyn more about the build can be found here http://www.beastsofwar.com/backstage/vlog-wrath-of-kings-table-build/
Comment to win?
There’s no denying that 4ground stuff just looks excellent.
I don’t know how you’d do it but a Hadross table could work if you set up domed areas with covered walkways between them like you get in an aquarium centre / in the Bioshock games. i.e. with atmosphere.

Nice table. Love playing on proper themed tables as adds to the game experience
4ground stuff is cracking value
Very nice table here
looks like I’m needing to invest in a few 4ground Buildings. Don’t you just hate it when your gaming budget keeps having to expand as you get older.
Good to see what is expected for each region of the world. I’ll be interested to see what 4Ground will produce for the future.
Maps are great to get a picture of a fantasy world.
I’m wondering, is all the fighting focused on the cites? What is going on outside? The map looked like there is quite a bit of rough terrain to get through.
Well this sparked some board ideas! Thanks again for these great videos.
The 4Ground Mordenburg buildings just look like they can be awesome with this game. I also like Justin’s idea of spraying the insets different colors to get some contrast in the look of these. But I think the best idea of all is to get the Hirst arts out and get a castle interior built to get some smaller forces fighting in some tighter confines, that does sound like a completely different style of game.
Japanese-style medieval town bordered by a forest to play the two player starter.
Great buildings look so awesome.
Please Justin do a goritsi one. Also Beasts please please do a tale of four armies style set of videos. Where you guys collect an army each . I love progress videos
nicely done
Great advice for the scenery. Terrain density was something I was wondering about. Cheers!
Nice vid. More games should have this sort of discussion about terrain. Normally it’s just “terrain is good”. I’d love to use a beach mat (normally for Normandy-style invasions) and have my Hadross slowly surfacing like the Sea Devils in Dr Who. <3
That is a lovely, lovely table! I am always amazed and envious of tables like the ones you guys have!
Looks like I’ll be adding a few more pieces to my 4Ground wishlist.
this sound like a good idea
Some really cool ideas, I usually use the terrain I have for my Undead army for my House Goritsi
Ok that is pretty awesome work.
I’m thinking….
Abandoned, ancient stone fortress, partly intact, partly in ruin, scattered across the board.
Different pockets of trees and shrubs, bushes in mixed up to give an overgrown feel to the board.
Slightly different floor levels to represent uneven ground.
A giant werewolf statue in the centre of the ruin to represent a House Goritsi Stronghold.
Perfect.
nice
So interesting to see your design for a themed table.
Beautiful table guys thanks for the video
Very nice
Great. Another reason to buy some 4ground stuff.
Very good video
I think I’d do forts and such more than towns.
nice terrain but no money for that lol.
What great terrain!! Terrain and the tabletop set-up really is the most daunting part for me in our hobby and its great that you are spending time talking about this aspect of the game.
Some nice ideas here- I have used small ‘Oriental’ style garden ornaments etc as terrain pieces alongside my Shael-Han…
Yeah, you can use 4Ground buildings for everything! 😀
I have tried to build my own terrain from tips from DMscraft on Youtube as well as Wylocks crafting videos
Nice to see an overview of the terrain to use for the game.
always nice to get tips and ideas for your boards
I love that foam rock, the mordanburg building and the ruin of daldorr stuff. it all make for eye catching board. Great work
Squishy Rocks!!!!!! Finally a game that doesn’t need a lot of terrain. I’m not a fan of building terrain (always relying on the Mordheim ruined buildings that I once built) but will consider Faction specific terrain.
Also noticed Dave Taylor trying to get in on the amazing Wrath of Kings prizes 😉
Love to play on board like this
I thought you were actually going to build a table and make terrain.
Love this and the Vlog video! So cool 🙂 thanks for sharing.
Nice work on the table. Watching the battle report sent me browsing the 4ground stuff. Nice to have links to others too.
I am a huge fan of the 4 ground buildings and i think they can do the job perfectly for wrath of King !!
That table is so cool , great job guys!
suits my warmachine terrain
Is there anywhere online to either tables specifically designed for WoK or to any artwork from the game? For me it’s quite a barrier to entry, even though there are plenty of lovely miniatures, not really having a feel for what the setting is like.
Very cool tips! The pop-rocks are definitely going to be used for my MB:P set.
4ground stuff is so gorgeous.
I have a ton of the Ruins of Daldorr stuff for Frostgrave. I’ll revisit the vids where you pimp them. They’re great to start with but that little bit of drybrushing makes them come alive.
Over the course of this week I’ve pledged my allegiance to Shael Han. Although Dave says there are no commercially available buildings for my faction, I’d go for Shogunate Japan. There’s a reasonable amount of choice, it’s all gorgeous, it’s a nice problem to have!
I’d say that this was an interesting conversation, i especially like those boulders.
Great terrain, love it
Really cool stuff.
Those stones look perfect for us gamers with limited storage space (and who already have way too many miniatures to fit that space).
Definitely do this again for future themed weeks.
4Ground isnt that expensive. All the awesome stuff is in the UK…UGH! Gonna have to order it.
must consider this game, foxes Vs pigs, cool.
We have used the middleheim buildings in our games and occasionally played on a 6×4 table with two players per side It is a great system.
Sexy terrain set. Me likey.
another awesome week and such a great game…WoK is one of my favs! Great Job BoW!
Cool table and cool minis. Going to watch the playthrough vid now
That looks really nice!
nice! i think this looks amazing
I love the tables!
I really love the sponge rocks. You make a whole bunch and easily store them in a bin. And the best part… durable! Good job.
