One Necron fan will win $500 worth of brand new Necron Models!
The competition is now closed. The judges are deliberating and the lucky winner will be announced on January 1st 2012.
It was noted that some of the submissions were not owned or created by the entrant. These entries have been disqualified.

Would it be possible to make my entry in the form of a solid works 3D model?
Two questions:
Does the $500 shopping spree limit itself to models or can you get the Necron Codex and/or the Rulebook?
Can the drawing be more than just a sketch? Can it be colored art?
@wargamerlester … the prize is $500 of any new Necron stuff (so codex is fine), I’m sure you could drop a rulebook in too.
Any sort of concept art will do… let your imagination run wild!

How exactly does the voting work? Do the voters need to be registered members of beasts of war, are people able to vote more than once?

You do realize that when people put a picture up they vote 5 for themselves and 1 for all the other drawings and nobody else is voting. Also I am not sure, but I get the impression that this is not an art contest, but more a concept contest… More about the idea… How it fits the army, there is a need for it… without overbalancing it or going outside its normal range. You do not want to take away an army’s weakness… like giving Dwarfs cavalry, but instead have something that fits with the army. I would say points are not needed as it takes lots of testing to balance out point costs.
can’t you just create loads of accounts and like your own picture loads of times?

out of curiosity, why does the score keep dropping? It says one score, then minutes later, without any additional votes, the number drops significantly… or rises dramatically with votes disappearing?

Well i added info about my entry – Necromancers – but it didnt add the fluff just the picture.
Anyway, here is the fluff:
Cursed by having a such a strong connection to the warp Necromancers are very dangerous even to Necrons. It is impossible to describe what one looks like as their forms are in constant quantum flux. A Necromancer’s open connection to the warp infects entire units around them. There is only one such vehicle that can safely transport them…the Megalith. On the battlefield they can only arrive by deepstrike as a Necron Lord understands that deploying them amoungst other units would be catastrophic to any battle.
In combat, a Necromancer does not attack the phyiscal form it attacks an enemy’s mind. It has been said that to be in combat with a Necromancer is a test. A test of strength and speed and Leadership.

Flux: Never slowed by dangerous terrin, automatically pass dangerous terrain tests and can move through impassible terrain.

Phase: When shooting a Necromancer units suffer -d6″ to the weapons range.
WARP:
Any model/unit in combat with a Necromancer must pass a leadership test on 3d6 a strength test and Initiative test. Else they will attack themselves or the unit they are with. Even fearless models/units must take the leadership test.
Those abilities aren’t totally OP or anything…

For all the down voting I’m gona give everyone a 5 star just because it’s not by vote, it’s by judged pannel. Everyone should get props for the art they did.
MMM why are all the drawings that people spent alot of time on and did a good job getting one or two stars and other ones which are boxes or 5 min drawings getting 3 or 4. it sounds like some one isnt playing bye the rules >:(

and is anything going to be done about the poeple cheating? its a bit gutting knowing other people have entered images from other sites that arent theres, which could then affect the judging of your own image. i redrew mine after taking forever to redraw them, but i guess people could still say ‘he didnt draw that!’ and then my chance would be gone 🙁

For the people asking who won. Just look at the top of the contest info and it says on the new year January 1st 2012, they will announce it. Hope the winner gets it fast because they most likely never get to enjoy it as we all know the end of the world is coming upon us on January 1st 2012 at 12 midnight.

I was about to put in my entry (which a lot of work went into) and noticed the contest ended. Normally I wouldn’t make a fuss about this, but hey 500$ worth of Necrons is a lot, and totally worth a shot. Please let me know if I have until the 30th?

Out of curiosity…..wasn’t it written that entries are valid till the 30th of december? it’s the 25th. Although it’s near the end of the “first mentioned dead-line”…….my prject came o a halt because i couldn’t participate 🙁 I’m not saying that my work would have made revolution in the industry, but it would have been nice to be on the entry list….to at least hope for the grand prize 🙁 sorry for any misspelling, english is not my first language 😀
