I’d drop the pintle-mount straight away. I think they clutter tanks, especially when they’re manned. (I’m having to scrape them off all my old Dark Angel tanks as I repaint them. My teenage self deserves a slap.) The random assortment of missile pods would go too. I’d leave the sets over the side doors as […]

I think a lot of my problem with some recent FW models is the paintjob. Let’s be clear, it’s far far better than anything I could ever do, but the skin tone is a bit pink. I think this is a great model (that lightning!) and someone (not me) could do a much better job […]

I’ve got some more picture here – I’ve got to give credit to orcpainternerd for the scheme – he has a video on how to do this on his youtube channel. I have to say that these are far brighter and shinier sitting on my desk than they are in the pictures – (and I’ve […]

Old school depicts to me a generation switch, whether it be of a persons age, a meta of a game, or something that’s significantly changed for people to complain about. Basically a nostalgia trip.

@craigwrdouglas Metal varnish? What is this? I’ve never heard of it before. I’m assuming it compliments metallic paints under it, but is it really that different to other varnishes? What does it do if used over non metallics? I can see me wasting some time at work tomorrow looking this stuff up. Oh, and damn nice […]

hey @caledors – I finally managed to get some decent shots of the Metallic Ultramarines. Bases came out well (standard gw scheme for Agrellan earth) and used the Wood and Leather paint from Angel / Vallejo set to do the leather on the holsters – the surfaces are pretty plain and you do need to […]

That’s not much more than a lego minifigure – I’d imagine that they would have Tesco in mind rather than gw stores if they tried it here.

We can do you get doublers (unless I get al the good ones of course 😉
It does work with the packet legomen – you see them listed (as an opened non-blind buy afterwards – though probably £500 each knowing uk ebay sellers…)

You could try an isolation layer – that is, a coat of matt or gloss (depending on how you want the wash to behave) varnish this might prevent the previous layer interacting with the wash

@janus1004 These are well mixed, well used and not that old pots (less than a year). They’re decanted into dropper bottles with an agitator added (glass bead). And this was yesterday this occurred when it was ~18 degrees, so not particularly hot (or cold, or humid). Only thing that’s different is the blue spray can which […]

Righto, time for some feedback shenanigans. Really should just plan this in every other day, huge text walls aren’t always an ideal thing after all 😉 @caladors – Loving the terrain work, will be interesting to see the project progress. It’s not often we get to see an entire display board go from concept to final […]

But those Grey Knights are dwarf marines!? They’re not the majesty that is Primaris! Will GW be resculpting the Grey Knights and GK Terminators into “Primaris Grey Knights?” With TWICE the daemon slaying power!? More tough and more bloods in order to bleed more and die less? We can’t forget Primaris Chaos Marines, that codex […]
