November 20, 2017 by dignity
Welcome to Aristeia! Week here on Beasts of War. Carlos from Corvus Belli is in the studio to discuss the designs in Aristeia! - a new two-player miniatures board game from the makers of Infinity.
Carlos shows off the alternate concepts behind each of the eight characters available in the core box, and how their individual personalities were brought to life during the process of designing this new game.

Great stuff
Really interested in this one.
The character design on this game is amazing.
Not sure how tactically effective they’ll be, but if I were to field of my favourite core characters, it’d be 8-Ball, Hexxer, Gata and Parvati, gorgeous models all
I was thinking that same list.
When I opened the zip lock bag and saw Parvati, my first impression was a poor glue job that left large gaps in her legs ^_^. Glad my first impression was wrong!
Hooray!
More Aristeia for everybody. Just love the game more with every match I play.
Corvus Beli’s designs and model release schedule is crazy! I want Aristeia just for the models.
I cannot wait to grab a copy. This game looks like an absolute blast!
Been trying to track down a Canadian stockist. Game is so tempting I am ‘almost’ ready to risk duties and taxes.
Come on deliveryman!!!
CBs creativity is just mind blowing!
It’s interesting to watch so many different inspiration and theme for the miniatures
Great work Corvus Belli
Is there a Aristeia manga planned?
I am totally in for a Chibi Joan of Arc figure.
I’d use it to rep a zondcat or zondbot to tease my friend who plays PanO. 😛 😀
go Aristeia! the more i see, the more i like it
That song is the best thing I have heard for Aristeia, it get you pumped
Now to get all versions of Mushashi!
Gotta catch ‘Em all!!
I think these character designs are cool enough to even increase interest in Infinity!
The character designs are really cool. Liking what I see so far, especially the plans for regular expansions…
Say bye-bye bank account…
Corvus Belli must love you guys.
Great characters, I like Wild Bill, hEXx3r and 8-ball the most.
Got my Aristeia core box in the mail today. Everything looks great – even the box insert is fantastic.
Now it’s just a question of “Do I get this to the table before I get the Aristos painted, or do I wait until they’re ready to make their proper debut?”.
Really tempted to get the deluxe version !!
I love when the creators of a game explain all the process behind their designs.
If CB were to release a book with all of their Infinity (and Aristeia!) Concepts, I would buy it inmidiatly.
Hexx3r! enouph said!
Corvus Belli is killing it again. Great stuff guys!
enjoying the content as always
It´s great the idea taking the games like LOL to tabletop, they are obviously not the first ones but it is a good point to do it in realistic scale, to differentiate from the other great chibi style game. The comic style sculpture looks great an as we seen before in Outrage pack, it was cherised in the community.
I think 8-Ball and Parvati are my favorites, but they’re all cool.
Love the designs that incorporate bits of the Infinity fluff! Also, the move away from the post apocalyptic blood sport theme is welcome as a design choice. While I like them they have been done to death. Bring on Aristeia!
It is cool to get some behind the scenes info on things like this. Especially something really awesome like this.
Loving it!
It is so interesting to see some of the design process, it must be difficult to chose the final design for the figures. They must have so much rejected art work, I wonder if they keep all those rejected concept drawings.
With five Musashi I’ll be able to play whole tournaments without repeating pose.
It’s always nice to see the thinking process for the development of the minis and their character.
This game looks very nice.
It is always interesting to have all those “behind the scene” informations, thanks!
actually I think 8ball is the only one I dont like. Really interested in the game though.
Ohh, a Browncoat!
I’d love to see a tutorial on painting the octopus tattoo on 8-Ball. Is Roman busy?
Miyamoto! Looks like he is a glass cannon, but this miniature is so amazing. I ordered the limited special edition. I hope they provide metal minis for the expansions as well. Maybe as individual minis within the infinity range. I definitely would spent the 30 additional euros for them.
Justin, you are such a tease!
Seriously can not wait to get my hands on this game!!!!
As someone who takes his first steps in the game design world, I always find these “designer notes” videos very interesting. And Carlos is one of my favorite guys in the miniature genre. As for the game, my level of excitement rivals the one I have/had for Kingdom Death Monster 1.5, Mythic Battles: Pantheon and The 7th Continent.
Wow the new expansion looks so cool. Love the new Senor Masscre!!!
always fascinating to see the design process and especially so with CB.
the characters and the art are exceptional. CB have a habit of both choosing the right classic characters and then executing them beautifully. but it’s the stuff that’s coming out of left field that really showcases why CB are so good. the idea of an ever expanding piece of art with all the characters is a real nice touch.
Parvati and Hexa are without doubt my favourite sculpts
Had my first game of this and Wild Bill was brutal. Looking forward to the playthrough
Hexxer is rather lovely.
Really nice to see the thought and process behind the designs. I simply love looking at CorvusBelli’s concept sketches.
Super impressed
Always enjoy getting insight into CB’s creativity
Great to see those early designs. The early sketch of Hexxer is definitely worthy of a sculpt.
I like the big panda-looking dog boy!
It’s great to see that CB is giving this the same treatment as Infinity in terms of attention to detail.
Nice view behind the design process
Well, I have to admit that I don’t like the panda guy. Yeah, I know many of you love him… but it is not my cup of tea. I don’t think I will field him. I do love the rest of the minis though.
Really love these minis, and I loved seeing the designs
Great backstory information to the design work on these. The vid was great!
Big fan of 8-Ball and Wild Bill. Love the pant detail on Wild Bill
8ball seems to have been difficult to bring to the game design wise but what a character!
This looks really good!
Loving the fluff so far!
Roll on the week!
I love the art direction of Corvus Belli and I cant wait until my box arrives.
Love the look of all of the characters I cant wait to start playing some.
Wonder if they are considering doing a crossover with Infinity.
I love these 🙂
nice to see the progression.
Do I want another Miyamoto? Hell yeah!
I hope some company will create resin bases for the metal miniature versions.
It was great seeing the additional concept work for each character. Doing so really contributes to the history and personality of each character. I gotta say, the the Nomad characters are certainly the most interesting 😉
Now that looks like fun in a box. Got to start saving up more money.
Hexx3r is the best!
Sheesh, y’all never disappoint with the miniature designs.
Corvus Belli rules!
Comment to win?! Yes please I would love to get my hands on this!
Aristeia looks so good!
8-ball would be in every team I played. Cool concept, cool mini. Really glad it made it into the game.
Nomads have always been the best 😉
Lads. As someone who resembles 8-ball more than most minis, I’ve got to say he is the absolute Don. I love it.
Gotta love those concept ideas and the work that goes into defining the final form
Is it possible that Gata’s tail is robotic?
Theres some really interesting and diverse characters there
Maybe it’s the juxtaposition but I love Wild Bill.
I got half a dead crab and a pile of seagulls here……I’ll swap you for a lovely shiny boxed game of Aristeia! ….. go on…..you know it makes sense?
Awesome concept and character design. Really like the look and feel of the game.
It’s fantastic to see this background!
really liking the artwork.
Looks good
I am intrigued
I am _so_ happy they decided not to go Chibi. I know it’s a theme in gaming now, but the look flows so much better and allows for more variety this way.
This looks like a fine game
Aristeia looks cool!
Aristeia totally rox!
CB has great designers
Without having seen any gameplay yet . . . i’m already picking my favourite team . . .
I like these designs!
Looks like a good game with simple rules
Awesome designs!
Aristeia is a lovely game!
This is one beautiful game!
Just when I thought CB had hit the top with infinity’s design. Great job folks!
