Today we're going to be going through each of the categories and talking about how we felt about them over the past year. We'll be looking at all of the nominees and finally announcing who the four lucky finalists are too.

If you're interested in what the results were from last year then you can go and check out the Finalists Show 2014 to see who the lucky winners were from 2014.

For now, sit back, relax, get a drink and make sure to follow along and place your bets for who you think the winners are going to be in each category.

Who do you think will come out on top?

Fingers crossed for ‘Infinity’ to win something. Hawk Wargames too.

templar007

Ya, I’m pulling for Infinity and Dungeon Saga!

errorzero

I’m pulling for Blood Rage. Hawk deserves a good set of award as well

unclejimmy

Hawk are fantastic. Not one of their minis that I don’t like!

warzan

agreed!

Next year should be interesting for them 🙂

hauptmanncanuck

Blood rage all the way

rayzryr

GogoKingdomDeath!!!

rickoshea

got to go for Arkham Asylum

warzan

Amazing kit!

scab1234

For best gaming minis Icarus miniatures nexus grunt.
Poor John I feel his pain ! I hate suits too!

warzan

Lol we had to tranquillise him just to get it on him lol

tresilliian

The Arkham is nice, but that Gate made entirely brick by brick is so impressive.

waywarddarkwolf

Looking very very sexy lads. Though so many well dressed blokes wandering round Coleraine will have people thinking theres either a Culchie wedding in the town or else theres a special Saturday sitting down at the courthouse!

unclejimmy

…option 2!

warzan

A waiters convention in the making lol

noyjatat

It will be interesting to see if this is as much a result of the best of each category or the most popular. Looking forward to seeing peoples votes.

warzan

I think everything is a popularity contest in the end

Even if we had an expert panel it would still be which is most popular among them. (But obviously that’s different from I vote for that because I’ve heard of it and with a people’s choice there’s no getting away from an element of that 🙂

nogginthenog

There are some really excellent terrain pieces in that list, the 4Ground stuff really is excellent and that GW Chaosgate is a fantastic kit too.

But this is an award for ‘the best’ and I think Tabletop Games simply make the very best cost no object scenery available today, and the towngate is no exception.

nosebiter

Best modelkit is an easy category to judge. Two kits stand out, the Warlord Titan and Archaon.

And of those two Archaon is the best, it is a showcase in what can be done with plastic models, and is such a joy to build.

nosebiter

The Phoenix by all accounts is an excellent kit, but since it is nigh impossible to purchase, disqualifies itself.

nsogre

John’s intro looks like he saw that earlier Kwak conversation and thought he was the next test subject..lol.

nogginthenog

I voted for the warlord titan for best model kit. I just think that it pushes the boundaries of what we think is possible, the pheonix and archaon are both technically supreme plastic kits, but the warlord is a truly impressive use of resin.

Plus its a 3 foot tall walking gun platform, of course its the best!

kommissar

Congratulations to everyone who was nominated, and good luck to all the finalists.

tresilliian

I’m rooting for Dungeon Saga, I do love a good dungeon crawl

Just got home. My gaming club moved today. Was a real heartbleed, because we had to leave some stuff behind. But the new location seems good, even if smaller.

Now catching up on the live block. I got my tea (earl grey), got my biscuits. Here we go …

nsogre

Great way to spend a Saturday. The wife has now gotten used to me running back to the computer every hour now.

redben

Been out at an AGoT tournament all day. Now to catch up.

caladors

I think time differences are unfair I need to sleep and stuff but, I really want to stay 🙁

hauptmanncanuck

I’m looking at BloodRage for the win. Great minis fun fast paced gaming

nooblord

Go Frostgrave! A finalist in 4 categories and deservedly so. Fingers crossed for Joe and the guys.

chrisg

Angel Giraldez, I honestly was not surprised to see his work within the top four, but I don’t think that this model was actually a blow away piece, I suspect he will even win. That I think though would be a shame as I think his work is carried better by his name when looked alongside the others.
Frostgrave is a great game and has much room to grow, it would be a surprising all out winner though.
Board and card games I have no interest in.

nsogre

Now to see how hung over they are in the morning.

olliep

Am not sure which I enjoyed more, the run through all the categories, or watching succumb more and more to the cheap plonk – this doesn’t bode well for the stag night! 🙂

huscarle

Just got back from the Dropfleet Beta test day now to relax with a pint or two and watch the Awards show. Great Hobby day truly Great.

Was pondering what you were saying about the development of various areas of the industry.

I think your discussion about CAD vs. hand sculpting might have missed a trick. Let me ask: Why not both? I imagine someone could do the bulk of the work with CAD, print out a test sculpt, cut and splice and add some things by hand, scan the result back in, and then there you have it, the best of both worlds. There might be good reason at present why this can’t be done in practice, i don’t know, but from what i’ve garnered all the technologies for all those processes exist and are used.

Interesting insights into the airbrush. I saw a programme that looked at the nature of art, and one observation made by the presenter was that when an art form has been developed to the point at which the artist can create something that mimics reality the artists then tend to move on and create pieces of art that present an ‘alternate reality’ ( for want of a better phrase ), either covertly or overtly. For example, the greek statues that looked like perfect representations of a man but in actual fact had unrealistic and disproportionate body dimensions. Another example would be the different painting schools such as cubism and surrealism. I wonder if we’ll see that start to happen in the painting of miniatures.

kantor72

” Placed ” all my bets for finals night 😀 . Really looking forward to seeing who wins.

crazyredcoat

I think ‘s bow tie got more askew as the plonk disappeared… 😛

machinedogg

I’ve been waiting for this since voting late last year. I can barely remember What I voted for. I like the changes that have been made. A generic “what is the best tabletop miniatures game” is too broad a question I think, and not really “of the year”. By making it have to be released during the calendar year it focuses people to think of their favourite NEW product. It should be interesting.

intelligentmistertoad

The intermission was fantastic! Most impressive is Justin’s magically appearing and disappearing facial hair!
