That Hoth Table looks the absolute nuts. Wish I could have made it this year. Great job
Love the round table!

I guess Warren tried to order the Penne al’arrabiata at the canteen.
Never a good idea when Vader is dropping in for the day.
looks like another great day at salute if you get chance go see the guys at britannia miniatures and tell dave says hi
I really, really REALLY wish I could be at this. Perhaps some day I’ll take a trip overseas.
Have a good day everyone, and remember spend spend spend
Would the excersise include taking pain killers for the hang overs from over indulgence last night
Far from diss-chuffed because it is great to see Salute but is there an issue with video linkage, no problems but only getting stills this end guys. Hoth looks the dogs cahoonies good luck.
Looks like so much fun! Wish I was there.
Ha ha I now I have it looks great. That Anvil game looks awsome really got to track some of that down. Those robot types are ace but can you have a look closer at the vehicles are they theirs or someone elses
All looks amazing, wish I could travel oneday and go. Hopefully oneday.
I see Vader didn’t take too kindly to Skywalker being given those attacks!
Good afternoon, some good coverage so far
hope your hoth goes down a treat and you all have fun
Wish I could go
Have fun guys! I’ll be checking in from time to time over the weekend. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
That 4ground terrain is absolutely amazing I can see it with some of the models from the other day that were so Bryan Froud Goblins.
It looks like an amazing event. Wish I could make it someday from the USA. Keep u the great coverage and be sure to bring us more live video blogs of the historical games in action.
Piers and Warwick that has to be the table of the show incredible absolutely incredible. Wish I could have got to the show I would have paid just to see it in the flesh so to speak.
Battlestar Galactica, drool drool drool.
Any chance of having a look at the action on the Hoth board guys, we’ve been with you all the way there let us see how it plays!!!
Absolutely skint! Great day 🙂
So waiting for my Anvil Industry Shards of Liberty KS figures. Should be heading my way soon.
Does the guy hiding under the Hoth Table do the sound effects?
I was going be there this year all the way from Australia but a friend had to and get married this weekend so the trip was delayed. so im feeling a little sad by all the awesomeness that I’m missing I least I will be able to get to mantic open day in May
Great coverage so far guys. New Dropzone game sounds great.
Wow, the new Dropfleet Commander games sounds awesome, this may have tipped me over the edge to get into Dropzone to play linked campaigns.
No doubt you are run off your feet today guys but fantastic job, those of us who can’t be there to see the shinies apprecieate it. Although I assume whoever has the camera with Warren also has a ‘Quiet Time’ box to put on his head when it all gets a bit much since at the end of each video he looks fit to explode with excitement!
Love hearing what Ronnie at Mantic is working on but you didn’t show his table.male I’m very curious about the new Warhawks space battle game I wish they were a little further down the road with the game some we could see more
This was a great way to start my day. Good job all.
wow those 4ground buildings are simply amazing!
Looking forward to seing more photos of the Ardhamma’s and the Oshiro terrain, both boards looks pretty good.
Great to have those updates, awesome job guys
More Ack, Ack, Ack, if you get the time!
Having to wait a year for this rule set is going to be rough. It sounds like it will be a winner.
Dropfleet Commander is the thing I’m looking forward to here – Hawk and Andy Chambers in one game. How can it go wrong?
Hmm, hope we will seesomething about Osprey Wargames and Northstar
That 10mm scale Strike Carrier is incredible looking.
Blight wheel minis are exactly what I need in my life right now! Not soon now! Chris G
When we can afford them dear were still finishing the bathroom! Victoria G the voice of sense and reason in my wargaming.
I ask you all who needs sense and reason where wargaming is concerned???
Looking forward to browsing your blog entries to see what I missed (sigh)
Well, Warren just got me to add “Drop Ship Commander” to my gotta buy list. And I don’t even like spaceship games. Hint, hint – Hawk needs to sell a starter box like the DzC box.
Hawk, Warren is correct of course, it should be available now! We need that forget the bloody bathroom now! Great shooting rules certainly on the list of gets.
Looks great so far, just got out of work, now going to watch some fun!
Thanks BoW to be my eyes in Salute.
I am so happy to pay my backstage in order to help you to do this.
Thanks so much for the liveblog! Made it down today, but wasn’t possible to see everything so indepth.
Excellent coverage of salute !
Hoth game looks awesome. Wish I’d gone but the wallet can’t take it this year.
Nice to see Black Scorpion going up in the world. He had like 3/4 of a table on his own a couple of years ago. Actually the pics don’t do the mini’s justice. He has some really good sculpts and the castings I got were amazing- not a fail-cast style bubble to be seen.
A hearty thank you to the BoW team for covering Salute like this! Really gives us who cannot attend a possibility to get some of the experience!
ashiro I remember talking the owner sorry name escapes me when they were wondering whether to take the plunge into upping their production into a full basis. Really interesting and well informed guy extremely approachable. one of those going to stay with you conversations that you take away from a show and it lasts longer than your interest in whatever game you were playing at that time. Ace to see their stuff now!
Dropzone looking great as ever! 😀
Ok so Terminator, we are so up for this game. Good job we had no intension of spending anything on a holiday this year, gaming will be our holiday.
DROPZONE, is one of the best games in the world and these new models look absolutely amazing I have to get some Pathfinder, not want to have to
Okay, some amazing stuff. The Dropzone spaceships are looking beautiful, can’t wait for more the ships of the other races.
Well I think it’s safe to say this coverage has been a rousing success! You have invented a new way to cover conventions and I can’t wait to see more! I would say its as good as being there but it might even be better since you get to see everything and hear from all the companies! Congrats guys! A job well done and I hope you have a few pints to celebrate!
Bushido, it sounds fantastic just looked up their stuff, how on this green earth did I miss this. I am even getting stick from Victoria over this so if you have any heart at all then please over ere mate!
Now that sounds interesting and the figures look ace. Again so many games and so little time.
bandau looks very very good yes please.
Your coverage is really helping with explaining what I saw at the event to my girlfriend, what a great event
Piers a face to a name, looking forwards to the WWDDC, but Salute is just epic.
Wargames Tournaments scenery would work great with our steampunk with a little tinkering. but that wall screams planet of the apes every time, yes it needs to be done.
plastic terrain that will do nicely please again a different use internals of a shopping mall kill the zombies
This blog is awesome for those of us who cannot be at Salute.
It shows off the best of wargaming including the terrain.
Assault on Hoth for Best in Show!
hi warren can congratulate you and your team on the coverage of salute it pass a couple of hours for never been to far away .been gaming since 16 now 64 never know so many games and displays made my day thanks alan
Thanks for the coverage guys. Awesome viewing. Felt almost like I was there.
Grant made the board come alive from static models to cinemagraphic event. Couldnt get today but so many people commented on having played I hope along with your laser cutting plastics you go from strength to strength. Have a safe trip home with your mates.
Great work. Really enjoyed the new approach with live blogging. Thank you
Thanks to the BoW team for putting on a great blog of the Salute show. It was like being there without the hourl of cramped BA seats and the madness of Heathrow.
had great fun a Salute
Looks like an amazing event gutted I missed it have to make 2017
Just got home from an amazing day at my first Salute. why have I never been before. Got to try out some great new games and spent more money than I really should have on new toys!
Amazing day, so many goodies on display. Thanks guys for a great event.
that is the single most horrific photo of me I have ever seen 😛 ha ha ha
at least they only got the beginning of my terrified cringe 😛
I was so shocked when they pulled out the camera (@ ~ @) ha ha ha
p.s. this is what I really look like 😉

anyway, I had a really fun day 🙂 and it was great meeting Dave and all the BOW guys 😀
… ahem … I had a bit of a fanboy moment on a few occasions 😛 ha ha ha
Really great work everyone. Thanks so very much.
Excellent coverage. Really good to c it works so well and no waiting for the coverage thank you all
Awesome coverage! Thanks a lot.
Cheers!
Wish I was there
Really enjoyed my first trip to salute. The Hawk display ship was amazing and their diorama board was pretty special too. I’m now a a lot more tired & have a lot less money.
Live blogging works a treat lads, thanks for showing off Salute.
Just finished going through the fina bits of the blog that I missed throughout the day and can now reflect on the towering achievement BoW accomplised during this year’s show. Thank you to all involved in bringing us this content, and I look forward with bated breath to finding out more in the aftermath of proceedings. Now all of you have a well-earned rest ‘cos you’ve ruddy well earned it!
Loved my first salute! Highlights were hawk, infernal (sooo cool) and although I don’t see it here, the standard of mini and painting on the darkland game, never heard of it until today but the creatures all looked like demons souls/dark souls/ bloodborne which is exactly up my street. Also a massive thanks to all the genuinely nice people who took time to show me rules, talk through minis and just generally chit chat the day along. Our community is pretty awesome 😉
I’d happily have any of these prizes.
I’ve been looking around for a new game to play with well detail truer scale miniatures, so that Warzone Resurrection starter @ 16:46 would certainly help me decide. I’ve been interested in Infinity for a while as a possible hobby, and i’ve got a couple of miniatures ( including the freebe that came with Giraldez’s A-Z ) to see if i’d be prepared to have some heavy metal on the table in the name of a good game so that Plastcraft terrain @17:47, prepainted and easy, would pretty much convince me to get enough Infinity to have a game with.
40K i need more convincing of. However, i can see the Bandua terrain set @17:32 being a good table for any 28mm sci-fi game, and again it looks east to set up. Likewise with the Warzone’s Tournaments terrain @17:47. Although it’s not pre-painted it’s usable. Painting can always be done in between games.
Great live blogging, thanks for the coverage guys.
This is fantastic guys!
Got nabbed in the queue by Warren this morning… was a bit surprised. LoL
Thanks for the great coverage
Another space ship game? This really sounds interesting
Salute was amazing this year, just looking at some of the blog this morning as I didn’t have time yesterday. The Hoth board was amazing. Highlights for me were the Afterlife Table, the AVP table and all the smaller companies on show Blight Wheels and Megaton Games catching my eye. Also got excited to see peopel I’d seen on BOW, Dice Bag Lady, Justin and Dave from Bolt action made me jabber like a fan boy!
The demo tables etc this year were fantastic, but aside from a few exceptions I thought the deals on offer were overall not as good as last year interestingly. Didn’t get to the troll trader clearance quickly enough to get any of the bits I was after.
Great coverage
Thank you for all the posts =)
Love the new Bandua buildings – particularly the Infinity stuff. Buildings are getting pretty special these days. Have their pre-painted Q-buildings already and am sold on this company.
Thank you for the coverage!
Didn’t think I’d have any interest in Dropfleet but then I saw the ships. The Avenger is beyond awesome too.
And I love the Plastcraft stuff too… sigh. Had been put off by the notion of painting a soft plastic and now they come out with pre-paints.
You guys have really aimed these prize videos at us Infinity players haven’t you? 🙂
such a good day, had a good chat with Lloyd about aircon lol
Man u missed Freebooters Fate at Salute. Big game, much fun, nice people created it.
The Hawk Games ship looks awesome !!!!!
I want this Dropzone fleet game so bad finally looks like we will get a great space ship game.
the large and small vessels at Hawk Wargames did look amazing… can’t wait to see the rest of the range….
Well i think i have recovered from yesterdays antics lol, a fabulous day was certainly had. My Salute virginity was lost, and it was gooood 😉 I took a tone of pictures, loved the Hoth table, guys 🙂 I got to meet some faces i have only chatted with on BOW, and have a few coffees with @tanya. Once home, i sat watching the coverage of the day, of anything i had missed. Can’t wait for the fun again next year 🙂
This Live Blog stuff works really great, this gave a great feel for the show. Really wish I could have been there and a game on that Hoth board would have been great.
I found all this a.m. been on to virgin and had really crapy conversation about it not working and downloading etc, couldn’t even see if any of my damned replies got through apparently it was all down to my fault not rebooting the modem or something equally stupid I switch it on and expect it to use not mess about turning things on and off. I still have no idea what half what the lady said, still enjoyed it now.
Kudos to all you guys at BoW! Great coverage, I have to get to salute in Future!
Grant, GG!
Getting a supsription at Beast of War is truly a magnificent investment! ^^
Hey guys, Salute was an awesome edition! looking forward for next year. bummer I did not see you about. but then there was a TON of people over there.
Congrats Grantt may the force be with who again?
Amazing day, after 7 hours still never saw everything
Hawk – saw the new spaceships and they look amazing
As God is my witness, somehow I will make it to a Salute. The dropship from Hawk Wargames is gorgeous. Any chance of it getting across the pond to Gencon?
And to think i was looking for the weekender saturday morning……Totally Awesome guys, great coverage, It will be a few days before i get to see it all !!…well done massive pat on the back 🙂 🙂 🙂
Warzone – Love those models, wonderful detail
Bushido – thinking of giving this a go
Maelstrom’s Edge – like to get hold of these books. interesting concept
Bandua – thought the Infinity stuff was cool till I saw the Cathedral
PlastCraft – the hobby moves on, terrain now being built for the player to play, listening to feedback. As you said stunning
Managed to collar Justin during his “lunch break” but only other person I saw was Warren and he was charging off looking “a bit stressed” 🙂
Hang on…..I’ve just noticed something missing…….was there no giant boob-nipple gun there?! You know, the one that fires in the film and hits the Star Destroyer and sends it into a dive. Awwww c’mon you must have had a giant boob-nipple gun! Its not completely Hoth without it!
Cracking day guys, can’t wait for the next one!
Looks like an awesome show this year sorry I missed it
I love the coverage, but I didn’t see anything from Infinity. Please tell me you were able to get an inside scoop of some up and coming miniatures.
Corvus Belli don’t attend Salute.
redben,
Thank you for the heads up. I didn’t realize they don’t attend salute with all the other events they attend.
Best Salute Ever, of the four i have been to.
Those Wargames Tournament terrain sets are just amazing!
Well done Lloyd – your palm trees got the attention they deserve. They are just cool. 🙂
Wow looks like it was an epic few days. If only i lived in the homeland!!!
cannot wait for the dropfleet game. Space combat the right way.
Thanks to everyone at BOW for helping to extend Salute out to Tuesday night!
Really great being able to find out more about stuff I missed out on the day – and do some modelling while I do that in front of the computer
There is just so much to see its almost overwhelming. Its strange because if you were to pass a shop with any of the stuff on display you would almost certainly spend some time to looking at it.
I had to put some gaming blinkers on at Salute to head straight to Eureka (Fighting 15’s) and Empress for their fantastic Maori’s and Insurgents – which I notice you didn’t cover!!! 🙂
Too much to take in one day…
Cheers again BOW
Well i took my time, look at all your showing of Salute.
i was there also, but you lot did a good brilliant show.
thanks for the memories.
know it was a while ago, but just came a member.
and well done.
