UK Games Expo 2019 Live Blog Extra!

Elaine and the team at DigiSprite travelled all the way from the heights of Dundee to deliver us the doom of our kind.

Showing off two games, their release from last year, Doomsday Bots, returns to UK Games Expo to deliver robot assembling action. Whilst their new game Adventure Mart packages all the management simulation you could want but with a fantasy 7/11 feel. If the videogames Recettear and Moonlighter were given a cardboard, competitive twist!

Ryan is drawn in by sugary bribes to look at the eclectic games on show from Original Content London.

Not just satisfied to bring unique board game designs to the show, the guys at Original Content London are stylishly adorned with bobble hats and the like to show off their games. But they also have the perfect accompaniment to their sugary bribes in the board game Mobsters.

Opozo were here at UK Games Expo showcasing their new modular board game. It combines the best of chess and lego, allowing you to create your own board games essentially.

There are lots of different themes you can explore in this game and they have provided a few to get you started. Watch for them on Kickstarter.

Justin checks in with a couple of vendors who are doing some very interesting merchandise at UK Games Expo.

Katherine at Food Pawn is doing some delicious sugar filled board game components. Tubs of gelatinous meeples have been delighting gamers on the show floor (and indeed, back at the OTT HQ). Clare at Kasasagi has also been making some meeple inspired jewellery to add some sparkle to your board game nights!

Joe from Highfell Games debuts his new card game at UK Games Expo this year.

Ryan takes a look at what Highfell Games are bringing to the tabletop with FellBound. Joe is transferring his skill as an artist to the tabletop  With beautiful displays he is testing his combat system at the show this year.

Fitting right into the competitive structure of board games, Manipulate pits several players against each other to become the most powerful person in London. Using a circular board the art style is certainly eye catching and shines a light on on the competitive structures we might take for granted at times when they’re set in the context of the accumulation of power.

This is a wonderful game which features some wonderful artwork and also some killer gameplay too which really plays with your tactical thinking.
