Hobby? Just another unit for my FoW Hobby League; Canadian (British) 25 pdr Artillery from the British Battlegroup box (you know, the unit with the metal figures from the all plastic box !?!)

Very excited for the Korean stuff. As someone who studied (and has a black belt in) Traditional Military Style Rhee Tae Kwon Do I’ve always been fascinated by Korea.
If anyone wants to see some incredible weapons check out the Korean 16th-17th Century weapons. Spears with dozens of metal shards on them to look like trees, tridents and proper 100% real dual sword wielding men the best of them on horseback. Korea v Japan would be an epic game whether it’s WWII or The First Invasion.
Those aren’t tree’s those are spears, Korean Weapons rule.
It was fantastic to hear from you guys about how the companies going, chins up lads I need you to keep selling me those lovely pre-paints because I really don’t want to have to do it myself.
I can only imagine how hard it’s been to read stuff online and not be able to respond, to be honest a lot of the stuff I’ve seen said is borderline libel.
Now I just need you guys to get those beautiful Mediterranean buildings down here to Australia so I have an excuse to finally paint my Blood and Plunder stuff and get back into Napoleonic Sharp Practice.
The Korean building looks good, with some tweaking I’m pretty sure I can convert it to look like a Chinese dwelling. I’m in the process of converting my garage into a office/studio and once that’s done my big project for next year is to build a provincial early 20th century Chinese town. This building is definitely one I’ll use with some appropriate tweaking.

Good to hear it’s going good with 4ground and knowing a bit of what happened even if you aren’t allowed to say everything, it seems that is getting a bit of the standard know of days. Only to bad that it is back stage as I have noticed that some backers are on OnTableTop but I don’t know if they are all backstage.

I unfortunately didn’t back Fabled Realms but I do look forward to it hitting retail at some time in the future. On a side note I’m currently wading my way through a ‘Stoic Arms’ build… Lovely kit although you do have to be incredibly stoic to build it ?

How amazing is it that the 4Ground boys are brave enough to share all this information re their recent troubles and want to explain to their customers and the industry where they are at and what they’re trying to do.

I think they had to given the efforts of a single Backer who was spreading unfound rumours not only here, but on multiple hobby boards. It was a bad case of keyboard warrior gone amok 🙁

The tail designs are free handed on the Thunderbolts based on the US Navy Squadron VF-111. For the canopies, it’s just alternating layers of pale blue and contrast paint, finished off with a layer of gloss varnish. It was very simple, but also very effective. The rest of the weathering on the aircraft was done with artists oils and blending.

But man, I’m at 1:05:00 and all the British legal terms make my head spin. Mainly because half of the words had to be looked up XD
Glad to see 4Ground emerge from the legal tangles and start getting back up to speed. Here’s hoping they get all the old lines up and for sale again soon. I’m still after some trees so looking forward to their reappearance on the site. The new render stuff looks amazing. It is the one issue with hdf buildings and this looks like it is the solution. Bravo!
Ben doesn’t seem his usual upbeat self, I did see the photo’s when he was ill (on the facebook page) and you could see it was quite serious. However I to suffer from one of these stupid “autoimmune” thingies and they can take years to recover (if ever) from as the medical profession keeps tweaking things.
Hope your road to recovery continues Ben, hopefully when all this legal mumbo jumbo calms down AND you continue to get better you can enjoy a quiet pint of Cider on a sunny day and enjoy the good things in life 🙂

Best wishes to 4Ground. Their original basing render is one of my favourite products ever. Really interested in these new products, I could see me adding the brighter colours to my current Nurgle models for some extra texture at the end and to give a more 3D effect. Hopefully a Gerry series can be arranged!
Wasn’t there another game that did the clear grid over the scenery? I remember videos on it on here before it went to Kickstarter – the scenery moved under the grid so each turn was different. Can’t remember the name now or I would look it up. A sports game perhaps?

Transparency is almost always the best policy. As a backer of the Fabled Realms, it is encouraging to hear what happened and to see how most of this is going forward. Obviously it would be great to know everything but, I understand that there are legal concerns. I am clearly happy for Ben’s sake that a lot of this cloud hanging over him has parted to relieve the stress that might have aggravated his health situation. I look forward to the next time I might cross the pond and be able to visit 4ground’s facilities continuing to make the finest of wargaming terrain in the world.

one of the places I worked for went under as one of the company’s we worked at started playing dodge the bill and we couldn’t pay our suppliers.

Actually had to watch this twice. Love to hear about the business of play and listening to what 4ground has been through, the whys and where fors, was very informative. Learning more about the business laws of the UK helps me to better understand what it is I’m truly paying for when I give these companies my money. Thank you 4 ground and thank you to On Table Top.
Thanks guys for hosting 4Ground and enabling them to update us on what’s been going on. I backed Fabled Realms and am generally happy to let Kickstarters take as long as they take and don’t keep up with all comings and goings, so when I found out about the liquidation and saw the note about putting in a claim, I did so.
I didn’t doubt that guys at 4Ground wanted to do the right thing, but assumed that ‘we’re liquidating and we can’t say anything’ was code for ‘it’s game over’.
I’ve confirmed with the administrators that my claim has been withdrawn (I didn’t actually fill in the form, so not sure I ever actually was officially a claimant) as my preference was always and remains to give you guys the space to try to do what you can. I trust that you will do everything you can for backers. It’s just a shame that the law prevents people in your position from being able to explain what you’re doing and to ask for the opportunity.
I hope you’re able to get things similarly sorted out with anyone else who put in a claim too.
Finally, best wishes with your family issues. It’s obviously been a really tough year for you guys, so I hope things look up – and get much better – soon.
4Ground, it’s safe to say that 2019 has been s*** for you guys so far. My deepest condolences for all of it, professional and personal.
Please keep in your hearts and minds; that your employees have stuck by you, that your designers have stuck by you and it is a testament to who you are as people. I fully believe that the community on the whole will stick by you too because of this, in addition to the excellent product you put out.
I’ve only been back in the hobby for a year after a 16/17 year hiatus and as of yet haven’t been able to purchase your stuff – it’s on the list of stuff to buy but..you know…life…
Please continue to be you and know that you’ll get through because of it.

Good to get the update on 4Ground. Is there any news on redesigning Rourke’s Drift scenery, believe you were speaking with Gerry some time ago about it.

Hey guys, great to see B & B on the show and that they seem to be coming out of that long dark tunnel. Always been one of their supporters and always will after meeting the guys at a number of OT weekends and UK shows. Fingers crossed they continue on the road to recovery in all aspects and beyond.
