Given that “The Old World” is basically just 16th Century Europe with some Fantasy nonsense thrown in for good measure, I don’t think you would need to make many changes to be free of copyright threats and still feel like “The Old World”. Or just pick any old generic fantasy rules, use your warhammer armies and pretend that it’s a battle in The Old World. Because that’s what you were doing when you played warhammer fantasy battle. The rules and the setting aren’t really linked
