I have many reasons not to buy a 3D printer, the biggest being that I have absolutely no room for it.

Most 3D printed figures are quite frightfully fragile, so much so that I have actually broken several just while cleaning and painting them – no, I am not clumsy – and am afraid to use them in games or even move them from the shelf.

However, there seem to be some compounds that are much more similar to regular plastic, which leads to much sturdier figures, I got a bunch of very nice High Elves off Etsy that fall into this category, the material looks and feels very similar to the dark grey/bluish plastic Grenadier’s Fantasy Warriors basic Orcs and Dwarfs were made of.

I have also bought a bunch of 3D prints off Temu and they are almost equal to plastic in resilience and come EXTREMELY well packaged, each one in a separate box, the mini twisty-tied to a foam base and the rest of the box stuffed full of foam particles, or the mini encased in a little ‘cage’ consisting of a plastic frame with clingfilm. Very professional.
