The only problem I have with Warmaster is the basing system for cavarly and chariots, otherwise it is a great game and can be used for historical and fantasy genres. Having said that, Warmaster is rarely used anymore for the historical side of the hobby.
I personally am a fan of Fantastic Battles. It used a 40mm base system that is ideal for 10mm and can be used for historical and fantasy genres interchangeably. It has several pre-constructed armies, but it allows you to build any army you want, with any figure range you want with far more diversity than Midgard.
Midgard is great and fun, mind you, I have played with it with my 15mm fantasy armies. The mechanics are very fluid and easy going, but it lacks the versatility of Fantastic Battles.
Impetus and Impetus Fantasy supplement are also very good. I play Impetus quite a lot with my 1/72 Romans and Celts and I enjoy using the system with my 15mm fantasy armies as well.
Another option is Sword & Spear and Sword & Spear Fantasy. This is a bit of a mixed bag, and not my people like it, but I do – especially the activation dice mechaninc. They are inexpensive and if I was you I’d get them just for your collection and reference.
