These are looking great, I like that they are more muted than the GW bright yellow. Orcs should never look clean ?
Thanks! Low on certain paint lately and sick the last few days with Bronchitis. With various stuff I’ve been not painting but getting back to it shortly.
It’s been a while. Finished these guys a couple of weeks ago but they cooked longer than I preferred

The army, for now, was rounded out by a Warchanter. Still, I’m tempted by a Mawkrusha Kit and a Start Collecting set.
Note: I deliberately painted the different Orc units with different skin. I’d imagine each comes from a different tribe or place as more Boyz get absorbed into the army. Different ethnicities of Orc or something.

Hm, scratch that. I have a Giant and some Ardboyz I forgot to post pictures of. Stay tuned.
those boar boyz look good, especially with the added details on the base.
the ‘start collecting’ kit is probably the cheapest way to get even more boar boyz and orks.
I must admit that I can’t imagine Orks being anything other than green.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking with the start collecting set. Also apparently a second Warchanter is a must have according to various places I’ve asked online for advice
As for the skin I concur: various shades and intensities of greens and some bordering on torquisey green.
IIRC the warchanter is one of those single pose sculpts with minimal options.
Nearly identical rank&file troops can be explained, but the ‘special’ characters in an army deserve to stand out a bit more.
I’m not into competitive gaming, so I wouldn’t bring in a second warchanter unless it worked for the background of my army.
I think the Iron Jawz codex does have the AoS equivalent to 40k death skulls, so blue body paint is definitely an option.
I’m not into competitive gaming either but I don’t want to go to a tournament and get my butt handed to me either. I will be converting the next one a little. As it stands the Ironjawz dont have access to a lot of different characters and having more than one still makes sense, aside from giving an army list an edge.
I won’t be doing blue war paint: these guys are from a specific clan that don’t seem to use this and it wouldnt work visually for the army I’m doing.
