Does anyone know of a manufacturer of Elves scaled correctly- as per The Silmarillion. I mean they were much taller than humans ( even High Humans ) but at most all I can find are GW / Jackson sizes.
Please don’t suggest ones with anime shaped ears!
July 8, 2023 at 1:19 pm #1827246what scale do you need them in, I’m guessing 1:56
Also how many do you need are a few characters good enough or are you thinking about making a whole army?
July 8, 2023 at 3:33 pm #1827247Scale isn’t important, as I can get the opposition in any scale I wanted from 15mm – 35mm.
I’m intially looking at a small force of (maybe ) 20 figures, doubtful I will ” collect ” many more, although like most gamers, these things have a habit of growing on their own.
My wish (!) is for them to be mostly spearmen (as per Tolkien ), as if they came from the dark ages – early middle ages, but that is a wish not a requirement.

keep an eye on https://www.medburyminiatures.com/ they do interesting 3D prints but are starting to make physical minis as well.
hopefully you will find something that works
July 8, 2023 at 5:58 pm #1827257Have you come across the Elf King range by Lucid Eye? Nice selection of spearmen in addition to a variety of characters.

July 8, 2023 at 8:44 pm #1827272I do like the Ral Pata elves and they are taller than 25mm @ 30mm, plus the first few are not wearing plate armour.
so a double thumbs up.
It was Lucid Eye’s Red Book of The Elf King rules that sent me down this rabbit hole.
While I do love Steve Saleh’s work and have a lot of his stuff awaiting painting, I don’t like his Elves, they seem more Norse than English, I could easily imagine Loki lurking in the back ground somewhere.
Thank you both for your suggestions
July 8, 2023 at 9:17 pm #1827280The official range from the books is Mithril miniatures. They are a finer design and taller than many 25/28mm ranges as notionally 32mm. Might be worth a look https://mithril.ie/

Have you considered 3d printed, not the stl files, but actual printed minis?
July 9, 2023 at 10:32 am #1827369I did check their site previously, and they seem to have ceased production of the 1st and 2nd Age figures, now only LoTR & Hobbit.
A man after my own heart, agreed, you cannot possibly go wrong with Tom Meier.
I didn’t even bother to check out any of the ” Big Boy ” companies, I have now looked at Mantic, will avoid their Elves in future, too much plate armour.
I did find on ETSY a company called Davale Games, that make some very nice 3D printed Elves, suitable for the 1st Age, except they don’t say if they are tall for the scale.
I have pencilled them in as a probable, but need to contact the supplier for the height.
If you are a fan of GW / Jackson’s version of LoTR they do a lot of very nice proxies.
Thanks again for all the replies and suggestions, I will keep searching and tell you of my results.
July 9, 2023 at 5:20 pm #1827433Success !
I wrote to the ETSY seller asking if the Elves I had chosen could be printed at 32-35mm and he replied that they could.
So ordered 17 out of my 20 goal, they are Davale Games figures, supplied by Renown Wargaming.
I am now a very happy bunny.
Thank you for all your suggestions and input.

I can’t upload images of the Elves, so you will have to follow these links…..I did get them re-scaled closer to 35mm height
I now need 4 more to make the 20 I need.
Thank you for the interest
