Been working on bases mainly this weekend and something to put onto those bases!
The new Chaos terminator kit, love the models, just wish they had a better set of weapon options on the sprue!

I’ve stuck with my normal scheme for my Black Legion, just added a few contrast paints in to try them out, skin tones mainly on these guys!
July 17, 2019 at 12:09 am #1415385A lot of progress on the foot version.

Also started the chrome bits on the bike. Just blueish greys and white for now.
It’s going to take a while!

July 17, 2019 at 1:20 am #1415397July 17, 2019 at 1:57 am #1415398Finished off the first stand of AWI Colonial Militia that I got off the Brigade Games Kickstarter. Pretty nice minis. I guess my recent visit to the Cowpens Battlefield inspired me, LOL.

Also finished figure from my long gestating Samurai army. Perry Miniatures figure.
July 17, 2019 at 10:18 am #1415480The party is assembled and ready for their first adventure. This group was a blast to paint. May they have many great seasons together.

July 17, 2019 at 11:51 am #1415517@chaosgorka could I be cheeky and ask what your recipe for your dark skin is? I think it would look very effective on some Abyssal Dwarfs and Elves I plan on painting in the future.

And prep for the Hobby Weekend
July 17, 2019 at 6:11 pm #1415589@Robert All colors are Vallejo model color. Chocolate brown base, adding cork brown to the base to build the highlights until pure cork brown for the very highest point. Shadows were done with olive brown (sometimes called usa olive drab either way the code is 70.889)
July 17, 2019 at 6:19 pm #1415590@chaosgorka that is very kind of you. Thank you. Keep up the good work!
July 18, 2019 at 7:09 pm #1415837Whilst not strictly painting related, I thought I’d mention I went on holiday.
Not THAT important really, but I did take a couple of days visiting Liverpool. Not the most exotic locale, but somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, being a muso-type. So lot’s of cool Beatles and Cavern Club touristy things were done.
But what relevance has this to this thread? They’ve got a U-Boat in Birkenhead, you see.
Remarkably well preserved, and I know you guys like that stuff. If you get a chance go check it out – you get free entry if you get the Mersey ferry, and they’ve got an Enigma machine, documents and other stuff found on board too. So, well worth a visit.
Here’s some shots of U-534… (I thought I had taken some shots of the stuff inside the exhibition, but later that day I killed my phone accidentally, so I think they’re gone)

July 19, 2019 at 6:28 pm #1416200I’m toying with exactly how I’m painting my Chaos Space Marine dudes. Slaanesh is such a fickle god that their livery has gone outta fashion by the time the paint is dry.
I’ve been toying of going kinda psychedelic instead, throwing taste to the wind and making a visual eyesore. So taking some inspiration from some gaudy 60s/70s art, and translating Paisley patterning into an actually paintable disruption pattern I came up with this –

I’m thinking solid steel feel for the main armour, bright silver trim and keeping with the colours I’ve used before but in new and slightly different ways. For customisation of course I can change up the disruption patterns and colours for unique characters, but essentially they’ll probably come across as Iron Warriors who went to Woodstock.July 19, 2019 at 9:17 pm #1416235Another batch of minis finished for Mythic Battles: Pantheon.
