October 19, 2019 at 9:25 am #1448530Very quick update before heading off to do some shopping in Dublin.
Finally finished the fouth member of the D’n’D party from Otherworld miniatures -our elf thief La’reean Tal.

With the thief finished we are on to the fifth and final member of the band – the magic user! Still very WiP but will hopefully get him finished on stream over the weekend – hopefully 😉

For those few interested there’s more pics and fuller explanations over in teh plog here
Also on deck, have started work on another Judgement miniature. This time tis Piper, the elf illusionist. Not one of mine this time but a commission piece.

Will be continuing work on Piper on the Sunday Judgement stream. Am just loving this mini.
As ever for more pics n whats going on, dive on over to the Judgement plog hereHave a great weekend one n all 😀

October 19, 2019 at 9:55 pm #1448757October 20, 2019 at 2:41 pm #1448919Let me tell you of the days of high adventure…
Long time ago I started into the hobby with Heroquest and I was fascinated by the cover artwork. Later on I read the Conan comics. So I couldn’t pass this great miniature (Elladan/28mm) and I had to paint it.
I hope you like it.

October 20, 2019 at 7:49 pm #1449032Dark Art Miniatures is running a Chaos bases and terrain KS, so I thought I’d give them a mention. I have their Malice RPG Starter Set, from Secret Weapon Miniatures.
Background mat is Loke Battlemat’s Slaughterfield mat.
While the set is pictured by the manufacturer as generic dungeon terrain, I figured I’d paint it up as a generic evil cultist’s lair.
I still have plenty of pieces to paint, so am posting what I’ve completed so far…!

October 21, 2019 at 12:48 pm #1449291I finished the Behemoth of Decay by Titan Forge. More pics and details can be found HERE.
October 21, 2019 at 1:10 pm #1449301I’ve also started work on my next project:

I’m also taking part in an online class. Here is my homework. I’m told we will work more on the flesh next class.

October 21, 2019 at 7:22 pm #1449372Stepping in to the WAYPN ring for the first time. Here is Jelena, the Leader of my Eschers, The Tiger Mamas.
I was able to find a way to build up a vibrant blaze orange that only involves 4 steps.
– Prime white; – block in GW Iyanden Yellow; – block in Vallejo Orange Fire; – shade with GW Fuegan Orange; – highlight with Deco Art’s Americana Neon Torrid Orange cut down with a lot of Airbrush Medium to bring it to a point where it can be used effectively on a mini.

I sculpted the fur on her jacket with Green Stuff after I bought “Exotic Furs” at the trading post. It was the first time I’d ever tried making fur and I was doing it after I had finished the paint job you see above.
I think the figs look great in person, but I’ve been self-conscious about the pics because a lot of the features of the paint job don’t show up well with my photo skills. For instance, the skull on her shoulder is done with GW gemstone paint; the white speckling on her chest and other orange clothes is from the glitter paint that I used; the base rim is done with a Molotow mirror chrome pen that looks amazing in person but looks really flat in pics. The chrome pen is also really great for adding specular highlights to any steel or silver pieces of gear.

im working on this firebrand. and i’m not sure of the brown staff. would black be a better choice and should i give him a pale skin with tattoos or darker skin tone no tatoos?
also the colour shift paints are fun to use and give good results with a brush!
