I can’t help but wonder if the Squalo would have been chosen for the suggested PanO Tag if there wasn’t a resculpt coming up in the future. It would have worked really well with the Auxila running Forward Observer.

It would be awesome if there was a battle report using both suggested lists. If only to see how the Nomads will fare against that sort of pan0 list.
Strange the HMC TAG wasn’t recommended for the Nomads instead.
Well, as someone who has never played Infinity before, I figured the giveaway boxes were chosen because they were just really freakin’ cool. Now I see that the guys at Beasts of War had a much more flavorful and practical reason for it as well. Very nicely done gentlemen. Now I have a much clearer idea of where I need to go next regardless of which of the two factions I choose to represent (of course, why choose if you can have both!).

Infinity week extending through weekend? That’s huge! The best news today, indeed my notebook decided to meltdown again and I’m trying to salvage the most data I can from it. I would say that I really need the Interventors from Tunguska now. Setting jokes aside, thank you guys this helps a lot to cope with such a boring activity.
About the OP: Icestorm and Beyond, I find interesting the suggestion for the expansion of the PanO side of the box. Jotum is a resilient TAG not versatile as it was long time ago with the HGL but even with just HFT as a side to the main weapon, the Multi HMG, it’s really a tough guy to stop. Auxilia will be more tactical than heavy fire power, but the mix of a beefed up Fusilier plus auxbot it’s good.
On the cool guys side, the Nomad of course, the choice of the Iguana is most aesthetic than effectiveness to me, anyway the Iguana is a good light TAG. I’m more excited for the Interventor box, these lads are the best, as the spanish friends will say they’re “la leche!”, the real lords of cyberwar and astounding sculpts too.
So It will be really cool to win such a gourgeus prize of 4 boxes to console an unlucky chap like me that after coping to see Infinity week all the week long when abroad in France, battling with instable WiFi connection and a cosy girlfriend, returns home just to find its notebook kinda of banged up! Yeah I’m pathetic but I try to get the best from the worst 😉

Looking forward to building on OpIce by adding some flexibility and starting a new faction… probably the Ariadne;Merovingian. Looking for places to eventually find some opponents other than my son.

It’s fun how they released as prizes the exact models suggested for expanding Icestorm. The Iguana is one slick mecha. I also love the cinematic nature of the Nomad TAG pilot ejecting out as it goes down. As far as troops go, flamethrowers are nice and all, but always bet on Pandas.
Ok, I’m in, just pre ordered! Now that long wait till the postman does his job.

Can’t wait to see the direction N3 takes, any streamlining of the rule system to make it more accessible can only be a good thing. I’d be hard pressed to choose between PanO and Nomads, the new sculpts are that good. Loved the coverage this week, but like everyone else I just want the box set to be released and N3 to come out!

Very nice of them to include a section on expanding beyond the box (for their profits as well as our enjoyment xD). Man oh man, those TAGs though. I want to get at least one of every PanO TAG eventually, I just don’t know where to begin. The Jotum is excellent, defense and power, but if you want real power the Dragao is where it’s at. PLUS, the new Sqaulo looks absolutely stunning; it just never ends with these TAGs. Excellent job CB and BoW, thanks for the excellent week.
Great week guys, informative and provides a brilliant in-depth look at the product. Sadly I don’t have cash to cover a box that doesn’t provide full rules. It is however a beautiful box, and for someone looking for a gateway its perfect.
As much as I like the new Interventors, I think it would be better to wait till the 3rd edition to mess with hacking, and choose another box instead, to complement operation icestorm, maybe the tomcats (which also come with a funny animal robot) or the lunokhod
ok, maybe it’s the shiny syndrome from the box, but must have this game!
I guess I’m going to have to start expanding my Nomad force now. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for hackers.
Not a huge fan of the TAG now, with the HMG nerf and the overpowered Interventors for N3. Too many points in a single model.
But you can never go wrong with the Auxilia, a really great unit, worth every point!

Infinity has arguably some of the most beautiful minis on the market (and I can say that honestly as I am not an anime fan). The aesthetics and though that have gone into the design remind me of the better made movies where costume and prop design have been done by the best of the best.
But I am skint and have no space for more minis so Infinity will have to wait for another time for me (but I WILL be keeping an eye on it).
Nomads looks so cool, also really looking forward to third edition.

Nomads list seems much more solid in ITS. Panoc will struggle with scenarii where specialists are required.
I love infinity figures. Just hate all the tiny pieces that just want to fall off each time you play with them.
Good to have so many options. This keeps the game very long lasting interesting.
Those Nomad models look amazing! Who doesn’t want tags and pandas? Now all I need to do is win them to go with my ice storm box 🙂

Gotta love when people use the term Jotum instead of frost giant, who is quite wrong (although in this case frost giant would be quite fitting too)

I have to say 2 things:
1) operation icestorm convinced me to start out with infinity (i’ve grabbed some miniatures over the years because they are gorgeous but never started an army)
2)i’d like to know if there will be more options of pre-made paper terrain since i think it’s a FANTASTIC idea to give old boxes a new use, i hope you could get them phisically and not just a pdf print.

I am a little surprised that they have TAGs in both the expanded army lists. In our meta, we rarely play them, and in a recent poll on the forums the result was that overall we see them in less than 25% of armies. I love TAGs, and they can be great fun, but I hope this doesn’t give the impression that every 300 point army needs to have a TAG.
That all being said, I do LOVE the look of the Jotum- even though I am a Nomad player!

In my humble opinion i believe the Iguana is the sexiest model in the Infinity range, it simply screams Masamune Shirow and the Appleseed line of comics.

I like the Pan-O tag but as I am a lover of the Hospitaller Knights chances are I would be adding some of those guys.

I own 3 Auxbot+Auxilia sets. I was hoping these get a resculpt soon but in the video they are recommended as an expansion to the Battle set so probably no new Auxilia then… These could use some update just as the Fusiliers did!
My problem with Infinity is that the models are too nice. I feel like my painting wouldn’t do them justice. Though if I win the boxes of units I won’t really have a choice, will I?

That Jotom! My kind of playstyle, heaviest armor and a really cool single shot weapon combined with a multi-HMG! The Panda’s are also cool.
I love that Jotun, but the Iguana is one of the coolest TAGs

Exciting really love the uniqueness of the iguana compared to most other tags in the game. And those interventors are looking even better with an upgraded bts in the new stats for them!

While I’m not a fan of Pandas, Koalas and other furry things, those Interventors do look rather nice.
If CB’s designers were to come up with something a bit more ‘cyberpunk’ as a replacement (maybe some kind of drone comparable to 40k’s servo skulls?), i’d be completely sold.

Awesome! Great having these clips with Killian and Carlos for Infinity weekend. Hopefully Killian can be a regular part of every Infinity week in the future, his enthusiasm for the game rivals Carlos’.
I agree with Killian, the new Fusiliers look brilliant, which means I now have no reason not to have a Pan O force in the future fielding Fusiliers; and the Nomads are stunning as well!
The minis in this starter are to die for and even my meager painting should be able to keep them looking good on the tabletop and encourage my friends to have a go.

Definately go with two more Algucil- gives a very good start to a Corregidor list, allowing you to try out link teams and a different way of playing. TAGS are good and all, and are all nice models, but for beginners more infantry models to expand the way to play is a better idea, I think.

In matching Warren with his wishlist, I’d like to see a Daktari figure that matches the description in the earlier rulebooks….
This figure should be as ugly and profane as the other Daktari minis were beautiful and lithesome…..

The Iguana was honestly the first thing that made me really want to play Nomads (and I didn’t know a darn thing about the game at the time). The more I’ve learned about the game, them more I want to play Nomads.
I hope the Interventors become AVA 4 in the Tunguska Sectorial. I’ve already got the two previous ones but want an excuse to get the new ones too! Also, Jotum on Iguana… Definitely need those hackers.
Great time to go back to Infinity!

I have watched all the excellent coverage of this game and box set. I agree it is a fantastic starter set to introduce the world of infinity and it’s rules but, I remained unconvinced that this is a path to tread, or an avenue for my dice to follow!
Until I watched this segment with the development potential with fantastic sculpts and giant figures ( sorry. But the pandas do not do it for me!) . All of a sudden the painter and wargamer in me cried out – get them! You need this first move into this new world.

Can’t disagree with the selections for PanO, however I feel that 2 Interventors are overkill. A better choice would be Carlotta, or any Helllcat or Tomcat?
The Minitures look just fantastic and you can go in every sectrorial army after this box. Keep up the good work at Corvus Belli.

Very nice looking additions to the starter forces, and relatively inexpensive to get two tournament playable factions going.
I think the Jotum is an interesting TAG as it’s more heavy-set than any of the other HS TAGs. I’d love to see it in a new Svalarheima sectorial.

Such a love/hate with this game. I really like the tags but otherwise theres no army that just reaches out and grabs me.. I like specific models across most of the range.
Looking forward to opening up the set once it comes in. With minis like these, getting into Infinity is a no brainer. Now the waiting begins. I hate waiting.

watching these videos is what sold me on finally deciding to get into infinity. After seeing how beautiful the models look, and all the great stuff you get in the box, i decided to take Carlos’ suggestion and i pre-ordered the full Gencon edition with the 2 bonus models that come with it.
The game looks so much better than other ones i’ve played, and the models are all incredible. i’m really looking forward to making a big collection of PanOceania.

Even if I would not have choose the Jotum … I personnally prefer the Dragao, first for the mini which is just awesome and then, he’s a real beast on the board …

I like that the Tunguska models are getting some focus and the Spektrs new figure is great. I’d have liked to see a bit more on how other factions can get involved incase you wanted to run matches with other factions which is good for the veteran Infinity player.
The new sculpts look fantastic. The ability to do a hack-spec list for Nomads plays right into the Tricky Nomads Meme which is great.
The cross section of PanO troops makes for a great showcase as well although I would have put a little more emphasis on how shooty PanO is as its a real strength of the faction.
looking forward to the 3rd edition and will be glad to pick up the new minis

I am so looking forward to this Starter box…and using it to draw in players at my hometown game locale. At the moment, only a couple of us playing, but I have confidence the starter kit will change that situation.

I’m with Carlos and would go for Nomads.
Awesome video. And cool with the ideas.
But my problem with both this starter set and even more so with a list from the rule book is that it would take out the fun of doing something yourself =P, also others may know more from what to expect (I don’t know how that part work) and I guess resale value may be lower for the more standard stuff.
Then again when I thought about units myself before knowing how to make an army I wanted to get as much variation in weapons as possible and the PanOceania especially seemed to have covered a lot of those.
And I guess one could pick up the Combined Army starter set (new one) and expant that one with whatever one wanted later.
I also think Haqqislam is beautiful and interesting all around except I don’t like religions and religious people one bit. But I could still play the minis.
I too wanted to win but I wrote so few comments then and I write more now! ;D
