He always apologise for his accent. Do you guys make fun of it at the studio or something? 🙁
Some people are very self-conscious about their accents when speaking a different language. I had the same issues when speaking Spanish for the longest time, even after multiple native speakers complimenting me on it.
I remember watching a few batreps on here with him in it, and people slammed him for the accent.
I honestly hope that isn’t it, but I suspect as much.
For what its worth, Ive never had any trouble understanding him!
Many English native speakers have no shame making silly comments about the accent of someone whose native language is not English. They don t understand how offensive that is because they have never learned a second language themselves. I experience this a lot in my life in Australia.
Carlos’ english i great. Plus I like the accent. It is the distinctive voice of Infinity and he always has something insightful to say about game design. I wish my Spanish was half as good as his english.
Agreed. And he is clearly so enthusiastic for the game. His love for it really shines through.
It may be partly to do with the fact that a lot of people (especially in the UK) don’t have much interaction with people who aren’t native English speakers. I grew up in London, so different accents don’t pose much issue for me, but my partner who’s from the North West of England finds him really difficult to understand and complains that he speaks too fast.
I love the Tohaa design! They are probably the next faction I am going to pick up. It’s also great that they have their own special rules.

I already experimented pheroware stuff and it’s very powerful, Especially “endgame”. You have to choose between shoot or reset and it’ very disappointing if the tohaa player play it fine.

This is really exciting stuff! I always use the kaeltar with chain of command as I run a spitfire rasail as my lieutenant almost always and the symbio mates give her great durability. This allows her to play super aggressive and not have to worry about going down. Haven’t play with the symbio bombs yet but now with the new healing capabilities I may have to give them a shot. Those things are so cute! But there’s only 4 of them in the box, right? And they’re one use only? If they replace hacking for the Tohaa, won’t that put them at a huge disadvantage?
Tohaa have always been a tough opponent for me. Smoke rushing and using bombs is quite popular in my meta.

I’m still not sure why this (or was it last) year is the year of the tohaa. They have some new tools, but not a ton.
As this is a faction I do not play I will have to study their rules and tricks a lot. The symbio tricks are ridiculously rediculus 🙂 very very good and I will fear this, and criky the parimeter white noise is bannanas. Will they be replenishable with baggage?

Look like a pretty aubstantial revamp of the Tohaa. The changes on Fire Vulnerability are a good thing to prevent extreme matchup issues.

Just bought a Su-Jian, but starting to feel i went for the “wrong” faction. Its really hard to chose a new faction to compliment my AEPH/Phalanx.
These seem pretty cool. One thing that always strikes me about infinity is that it seems you can just pick an army based on what you like the look of and still be confident that it’s also useful.
And also should join in on the Carlos love. I’ve watch anything with Carlos that is anything less than great, carry on good sir.
Honestly, I’ve never really experimented with the Tohaa before, but I really appreciate that CB makes an effort to make them alien – even in terms of the rules.

With every faction video I watch, I want to build an army of that faction. Ahh, I’d I was rich and most of all, had more time.
I’m all for body guard units, but it seems odd to have living frogs jump in front of a rocket rather than a robot panda.
I really like how the Tohaa have their own biological version of hacking. Great flavour.
I’m really trying not to start a 4th faction before I’ve even finished playing the Icestorm missions, but you guys are making it hard 😉

Some nice little “Tactics”, from the little guy`s. Just a pity one of them has to take all the hit`s for the boss man……..
There`s been so much stuff over the last four day`s (and we still got tomorrow to go), i think i`ll be watching it all again probably on Sunday when the misses is at work. Plus getting the book will help me understand it all a bit better, that is until i start to play then thing`s will begin to fall in to place and become clear for me.

Have seen very little of Tohaa on the table. Looking more and more interesting and I real like how they have become a unique faction with their own flavour and abilities.
This is really starting to make me want to do either a Tohaa or the new Combined Army sectorial. But I have too many armies as it is now, lol.

Interesting. So the controlling player has to choose when the symbio will intercept an attack. Save now against the incoming missile / sniper or wait for the potential flamer / HMG / boarding shotgun attack later in the round. Either way, it’s adding an extra life and round of ARO, causing the opponent to spend more orders.
Uh oh. Games against my regular opponent just got harder 🙂

Greatly appreciating the effort that Corvus Belli have gone to simply to separate the feel of the various races.
This bio-engineering toys set them apart from the high tech factions.

Pokemon design is questionable, but ruleswise they certainly add flavour to the army.

It is nice to see Tohaa gaining some uniqueness to them as they are aliens.
Pherowarfare is so flexible now. I’ll make sure to keep my Sogarat away from those Symbio bombs. Isolation can be brutal.
Carlos’s accent has a Spanish flavour and it adds some spice to the videos. 🙂

The symbiomates remind me of Peach from Super Smash Brothers. She has that ability to use Toad as a shield from incoming attacks.

This fraction gets more and more attractive to me!!! I don’t know how long I can resist further before I have to start with them!
Also the regarding battle report gives a nice overview about the power of the Tohaa troops.
The best thing about them is that they use other technical and biological mechanisms compared to the classical human fractions.
Finally, I like the fluff of the Tohaa very much because their plan for the Human Sphere is still unknown in detail! And I’m looking forward to the development of the two faces of the Tohaa!
Plenty of Tohaa tricks here, The ability for the creatures to just soak up all the damage seen in the battle report too is just super cool.
Blocking ALL damage that easily feels a little OP… but I guess we’ll see how it plays out on the table.
