Corvus Belli has given us a sneaky look at the Dire Foes Mission Pack 6: Defiant Truth which is coming to the world of Infinity!
Inside this set, you're going to get...
- 1x Miniature for Haqqislam. Husam Operative Leila Sharif.
- 1x Miniature for Yu Jing. Gui Feng Xi Zhuang (with 2x MadTraps)
- 1x Free-Lance Stringer (A V.I.P. miniature)
They will all play a role in the upcoming mission 'Defiant Truth' which will be a narrative operation following the events that happened in Operation: Red Veil.
As you might imagine Corvus Belli have paid particular attention to detail here and they will help round out your Red Veil force to around 200 points.

Wait, whaaaaaat? I didn’t think they would be doing any more Dire Foes releases.. but I’m so glad they are! The match up also ties in well with Red Veil.

That is exactly the reason for this new Dire Foe match-up. If you add the starter armies in the Red Veil boxes + the characters in this box set, then you get 2 armies that come in at 200 points.
I believe that more Dire Foe boxes will be on the way, as CB did say they sold well although no date on when that’s going to happen (it would make sense for a Nomad vs PanO one due to Icestorm, and obviously any pairing that might match another 2 player set). CB seem to have a lot on their plate atm.
CB don’t make things as easy as they should when telling people what is going to be released (looking at youtube videos of seminars that are linked in threads on their forums, seems to be the “best” way, although I’m completely put off from ever making an account and posting anything there), but the arrival of this boxed set I’m pretty sure has been said was on the way ever since Red Veil got released (again due to how well this Dire Foes goes with it).
Anyway, lovely models, great to see the MadTraps; I didn’t expect to see 2 (wouldn’t mind seeing a boxed set that combines a bunch of these models that act as markers; also where are my Nomad tinbots?).

One of my mates was keen to get me into Infinity so we split Red Veil… it might be time to have a similar discussion…
we saw the art for these at the gencon seminar and the miniatures don’t disappoint. both the operatives look great but the mad traps look amazing. my favourite though is the free lance stringer. she is so infinity, sci fi sleek and sexy.
the dire foe boxes are a great way of adding a bit of narrative. but I will be interested to see if the story will be a down load as not many people who bought the original dire foes down loaded the story. they are thinking of adding the stories from the original dire foes in the next book so more people read it.
corvus belli continue to bridge the gap between the starters and ITS. they suggested the tags to bring you to 300 point with red veil as they did with icestorm, but this time the dire foes pack was always on the cards. they will then look to do a red veil upgrade box to take you to ITS. I think this is a big step forward. red veil to teach you the basics then add a narrative mini operation with dire foes to introduce more options in a manageable way, followed by a ITS upgrade box to round things out. please give this a narrative and step by step introduction of the models as you have done with red veil and the dire foes pack and in future make this narrative run through all three releases. I fully expect the to go back and give icestorm the same treatment.

hmmm…. I don’t know. I loved the concept art for Leila Sharif, but somehow I’m not drawn to the actual miniature. It looks like she is dancing around with her gun. I’d rather seen her with a pose and expression closer to the artwork.

That High Value Target model is sassy as fuck. I will be buying this just for that model.
