Three More Bolt Action Armies Of… Books Coming In 2026
February 10, 2026 by brennon
Osprey Games and Warlord Games have previewed three more books coming out to support the Third Edition of Bolt Action. These Armies Of... books will be coming out throughout 2026 and give additional support to various Nations in this World War II wargame.
Armies of Italy // Bolt Action
This book comes with all of the information that you'll need for commanding the forces of Italy in the deserts of North Africa, East Africa, the Eastern Front and the defence of Sicily and on the mainland. You'll be able to build armies to suit all of Italy's campaigns with detailed unit options and force selection guides. This book is scheduled to come out in April 2026.
Secondly, we're going to be getting Armies of the British Commonwealth, which will land in July 2026.
Armies of the British Commonwealth // Bolt Action
This book will cover the varied forces that served as part of the British Commonwealth during World War II. That means Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa and many others. You'll find coverage of their battles against the Axis threat in different corners of the world, like Europe, North Africa and the jungles of the Far East.
Last but not least, we have Armies of France, which will cover the grizzled French who got up to all sorts of things in World War II.
Armies of France // Bolt Action
This book will cover the French in World War II from the defence and the fall of France through to the Vichy forces fighting in Africa and the Levant. It will also cover the Free French forces and those fighting for the liberation of France against the Axis invaders. You will get a vast array of different unit profiles and rules, plus example armies. This could well be one of the most interesting books of the three, as it will cover all sorts of French forces.
Armies of France will be coming out in October 2026. I think I am most intrigued by Armies of the British Commonwealth and Armies of France myself. What about you?
Let me know in the comments...

I like how the campaigns mentioned in the Armies of Italy description all feature increasingly terrible Italian forces, down to the least-fit fascist dinguses left to guard Sicily.
I’ll be curious to know what, if any plastics will be released with each of these books.
