The Ardboy Big Boss Signals New Warhammer Preview At NOVA

Games Workshop have previewed a new miniature for the Ironjawz and the forces of Destruction in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. The Ardboy Big Boss is going to be stomping onto battlefields in the near future alongside more reveals via the NOVA Open Warhammer Preview.

Charging into battle with a boss-hacka and a choppa, this fellow is there to beat his fellow Orruks into submission and get them headed in the right direction. He is a proper veteran warrior clad in heavy armour and with a rather nice mask. I guess the more spikes you have jutting out of your jaw the better in Ironjawz society.

I really like the more detailed look at the miniature showing off the draped and battered chainmail. It works well to break up the slabs of muscle and metal that this fellow would otherwise be made up of. I do quite like the vibe of the Ironjawz as a force although I wouldn't be painting their armour yellow.

I would guess we're going to be seeing Space Marines for Warhammer 40,000 and more Orruks for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. Warhammer: The Horus Heresy has got to be more bitz and kitz for upgrading your Legions. I would guess we'll get our look at the first new boxed game for the new "season" of Warcry and a new warband for Warhammer Underworlds. Blood Bowl is an interesting one but perhaps some new Star Players or a new plastic team box? Last but not least, we have Warhammer: The Old World. I am very much hoping we don't just get one miniature reveal!
Will you be tuning in come 2am BST here in the UK next Thursday? I get a sense that I'll be up frantically clipping out images from the livestream.

I have heard rumours that there are currently 2 new Blood Bowl Teams in the works – one a Team of Legend, and one a totally new team.
That would be very interesting…
As for star player’s – still loads from the 2016 edition that were featured in various SPIKE! Magazines – and they are clearly still working on bringing those guys out at some point – Ivan “the animal” Deathshroud appeared last week, and yesterday we got Kiroth Krakeneye – so Blood Bowl is still proving super popular.
I myself am still debating attending the Full Beard Cup in Nottingham at the end of November. Depends how my reworked Chaos Renegades team look once I have started to paint them.
Also, just my thoughts, with Ivan Deathshroud putting in an appearance, a preview of potentially a new team next week, and an Official GW Blood Bowl event around Halloween, are we on the cusp of a new Vampire team? Looking at the release schedule GW have adopted for BB, it all tracks – Vamp and new star Players* drop end of September gives people a month to get them and paint them before the event.
*my guesses for Undead Star Players to accompany the Vampire Team? Well Ivan is one, Count Luthor Von Drakenborg will reappear, and either a totally new Thrall star player, or G’Ral Blodschüker the legendary Ghoul star player from 1st Edition and a made an appearance in the Shambling Undead SPIKE! From 2016.
