The Armies Of Panzerfauste Gather Ahead Of Kickstarter Launch
October 5, 2015 by brennon
Hysterical Games have shown off a whole bunch of new renders ahead of the Kickstarter for their Weird World War game with a Fantastical twist, Panzerfauste. There are a collection of very different armies coming together for this project...
Beardy Leaders
First up we have a look at the Dwarves for the game and their NCOs. Feldwebel Korder and Leutnant von Margen are just two of the NCOs you can call on...
I am very inclined to go for Dwarves in this game because of my love of the bearded fellows and I do play Germans in regular Bolt Action. With that in mind it does seem like a good combination!
British Boyz
Following in the footsteps of the Dwarf NCOs we have the Orc ones below featuring Sergeant “Sarge” Dûr-shun and Lieutenant Rhôd-ni. As you can see they are so British that they're getting stuck in with a cricket bat as their weapon of choice in melee.
You will also need some support weapons for when the enemy bring in some of that big chunky armour. This team rolls around with a rocket launcher of sorts to plug holes in vehicles.
The Orcs are looking like a great faction in the game with plenty of character to them. It's also neat to see the Orcs not appearing as the 'bad guys' for once in a game world. I know there aren't really any sides in Panzerfauste but it does makes for a good change AND Orcs have always been loud mouthed Englishmen anyway!
Gnomic Knowledge
The Gnomes are calling on some eldritch force to support their forces in battle. They have a number of different Priests which you can see below who have something a little bit evil about them; especially that chap in the centre.
When the praying fails then the Gnome Sniper Team step in to take out key targets from long range. I actually quite like the spotter with his little telescope stand although I wish the sniper was kneeling so it looked like he was actually ready to take a shot.
Last but not least the Pigeon Handler will be sending off messages to the rest of the army. Will he be the new Speckled Jim and lead the Gnomes into an array of different and hilarious problems?
The Gnomes aren't quite at the forefront of my mind for this game but I can see them looking very neat on the tabletop with their vast array of different weapons and vehicles. Snail Tanks were always going to be a winner.
Deep Dark Denizens
Last but not least we have the Troglodytes who dwell in the depths of the Panzerfauste world and look like they will be filling the role of 'Americans' in the Panzerfauste world.
I like their little tails poking out of their uniforms and considering their lithe nature maybe we'll see some awesome special operations troops popping up for this faction.
What do you think?

Can’t wait for this to start on kick starter , I will be backing this from the start I thinks .
Troglodytes are the polish 🙂
Teasering is good and exciting, but finaly a date of the KS-start would be fine….
It would be at least nice to know if the KS starts BEFORE or AFTER the “Spiel”-con in germany.
Worst case 4 me would be that my con-shoppping tour depletes all my hobby budget for october and november and I cant participate at the KS
May well be during. I have a few things to finalise, then up it goes!
Utterly bonkers and looks really well done, also gnomes!
Never do kickstarters but if I ever was to this would be my choice. About time we got back to playing with toy soldiers great, but then to have them in what appears to be excellent sculpts well I for one will be getting some of these I love the idea of a really really nasty battlefield deep mud holes and craters as well as trying best to keep the trenches from collapsing love it.
Well, it will all be available after Kickstarter too, I am sure. 🙂
Appreciate the support anyhow.
Prodos and Hysterical games
You’ve probably heard/seen this before and I apologise in advance if you have please move along and have a great day.
As I understand it this is a Prodos Kickstarter, my rational behind this is;
1/ Rob alderman is the majority director of “Hysterical games” and he is a part of Prodos.
2/ In the past hysterical games have said that Prodos are just making the minis like they do for other companies but no other company that has minis made by Prodos also have the Prodos games logo in the previews etc. (Check mantic, micro art etc)
3/ A former member of the Prodos team has said that it is a Prodos project. It was on a different forum so I won’t link here but PM me if you want it.
Why does it matter if it’s a Prodos project JoeRugby?
Well Prodos have been rubbish with their communication and at times Lied, a lot about their Aliens Vs Predator Kickstarter. I won’t bog down this post reiterating everything that has already been said but please check out this thread for more info..
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/sci-fi-gamer-town-square/forum/topic/calling-avp-kickstarter-backers/
I personally really like these minis but there no way I’ll back another Kickstarter linked this much to Prodos.
Please read up on what is going on with the AVP Kickstarter if you still want to back the project go for it, I am confident you will eventually get some class minis but you might get them after retail does 🙂
but please do so with some idea of what might happen and I hope you don’t have any of the problems us AVP backers have had.
I will post this in any preview I see for this Kickstarter so again if you’ve seen this before please move along and have a great day.
Bangs head on table…
1. Rob is a director AND so am I – I have answered this before BUT as you continue to trot this out as though it is some kind of “evidence”. Rob is doing this in his free time, he has always wanted to do something with this game and now is. Yes he works for Prodos, I don’t (in any capacity). It is a Hysterical Games project not a Prodos one. We are using Prodos like other companies do and because Rob knows what they can do…
2. I put the logo on the renders so people would know the miniatures are going to be quality and in recognition of who was doing the rendering. No other reason. I was not asked to, I just decided to.
3. That’s b@llocks and mischief making but hey it’s from a “former member” so it must be true…
If you have a problem with the AvP Kickstarter Joe take it to the appropriate forum please and stop repeating this nonsense here, especially when you have been told what is happening but choose to ignore it.
ps. I’m still waiting for my copy of AvP but hey not going on and on about it…
I think the best way to silence these concerns is a smooth, well executed campaign with a even better post-KS-procedure….
Especially with the post-KS-era many KS are struggeling sharing enough infos and beeing available for questions/answers every week or two.
This is quite repeating with some of my KS although they had a super communication while the KS was live. In the post-KS era I too often hear some kind of variation of “dont call us, we call you” and this is where most of the trouble starts as this isnt what you want to hear after months of silence…this I experienced with maxmini, Last Saga.

You are perfectly correct, if people think AvP is bad (and as a pledger I am not overly impressed) they ought to look at Baker Company’s Winter War KS which is, I guess, as bad as it gets or Mongoose’s Rogue Trooper. At least we know AvP exists, even if we don’t have it yet!
My day job is in the service industry, I am educated in the need for sundown calls etc and will damn well ensure we keep people as up to date as necessary, even to the point of ‘nothing to report’ posts. To me AvP is a great example of how not to communicate with your customers (sorry Prodos, but my opinion!)
I have to confess I am getting peeved (as you may have guessed) at the “sabotage posts” (I’m sorry I can’t see them any other way now) that may well impact the KS and the epic plans we have for the game (many I have nurtured since 1998).
Fingers crossed it all goes as it should…
I haven’t made a sabotage post!
I’ve expressed my thoughts and concerns, you then get to respond and a dialogue happens.
I care about the gaming community, especially the BOW one, I think people should have as much information to make up their own minds up on what to do?
Are you getting these posts elsewhere as well?
Because it seems a bit of an extreme reaction for one bloke posting his thoughts? The only other time I did was in response to your curt response to another members comment on a previous update? And I haven’t checked that since I posted it I only checked this one because of you’re PMs?
Do any of us normally check back and look through news comments?
Better get an ice pack for that head then..
I’ve said my piece and will continue to say my piece, and I thought I was quite nice about it too.
Just get a copy and paste response and your sorted 🙂 ( I can include it in my posts or just pm you when I post it so you can get your response in asap if you want)
in fact get it in your Kickstarter FAQ 🙂
I appreciate that your saying both of you are doing this in your free time but my opinion still stands. I honestly hope I’m wrong but I think that someone going into a Kickstarter should know the baggage one of you is bringing into this (and likewise you get to respond saying an that guys talking bull.)
1/ Rob has been involved in the breakdown in communication regarding AVP. Regardless of if this is a Part Prodos Kickstarter he’s still involved and that brings baggage. (Rob if you’re reading this you’ve seemed like a really nice bloke and I hope all the conflicting information has been down to others but it’s still happened a lot, you’ve said (if I remember it was the Templarscrusade interview) you won’t do a Kickstarter again because of the rubbish involved and how it’s effected you, what changed your mind?)
How are you going to have better communication? Especially if your only doing this in your spare time?
2/If your trying to build your own brand why are you promoting Prodos Games in your updates more than yourselves, in every render the Prodos games logo looks bigger/ is more prominent than yours.
No one else does this when Prodos do the work for them, because for other people Prodos is just a contractor doing work for them.
Also Prodos don’t advertise other games that they are doing work on on their own Facebook page.
Honestly how does This look to joe blogs? (or rugby in this case)
3/you have the right to say that , maybe this person has got the wrong info or is doing as you say
but it’s out there, and again I feel the need to share info.
You seriously haven’t gotten a copy of the AvP yet even though your going to be pumping loads of cash to Prodos with this Kickstarter if not already? You should have a word (or you don’t care about getting it then good on you) 🙂
As far as my going on and on >:/ …….
Do you not think people have the right to be a bit put out by what’s happened? That in our community we shouldn’t try to make others aware of what they might be walking into?
And if there are problems with your Kickstarter, and people chose to voice their opinions about it will they just be going on and on about it? Should they stop their nonsense and take it elsewhere?
“Also Prodos don’t advertise other games that they are doing work on on their own Facebook page”
A quick look shows NINE posts for Demigods Evolution, at least two for White Knight and other two posts for products that Prodos have done for other companies. Oh and the two for Hysterical.
As anyone can go and see that, I’ll let other people judge the accuracy of your other “facts” Nate…
To be fair Stephen, Prodos were an official Partner on the demigods evolution one so I would expect them to advertise them. And as an official partner they had their logo all over the Kickstarter page and renders, one of the things that made me assume that as your company were doing the same there was a similar link.
I did however miss the two posts re the white knight one. And yes anyone reading this please look into what has been said by Stephen and my posts and make your own decisions and conclusions.
I look forward to continuing our chat in PM,
this looks cracking to me and I’m well on board when this goes live, as prodos are involved I know the models will be spot on,
I am thinking about getting into Panzerfauste.
Apart from what I read on here I don’t really know who Prodos is, but I do know that Steve has been in this industry for last 25-30 years and gained a lot of respect during this time. I and many many others wouldn’t have can issue getting involved with a game that has the name Steve Blease attached to it
I cant wait for this to launch! Dwarfs for me!
With this being Hysterical Games’s Kickstarter and no FOX in site I have confidence that this will run just fine…..
Rob is a great guy, and this is a great opportunity to step out from Prodos shadow.
Having backed the AVP kickstarter and not received my items yet, I will not be backing any kickstarter Prodos are involved in, just so it doesn’t look like joerugby is just doing a “sabotage post” rather than expressing his feelings in a community forum.
I’m thinking about just using them in bolt action
Prodos, no thanks. Just need to look at AVP kickstarter.
Not. A. Prodos. Kickstarter.
