Pre-Order New Speedpaint Markers From The Army Painter
August 19, 2025 by brennon
The Army Painter are taking pre-orders for their Speedpaint Markers, which have gone through an upgrade. The new 2.0 version of these Speedpaint Markers could be a great tool to add to your hobby arsenal and is perfect for those diving into painting miniatures for the first time.
Speedpaint Marker Starter Set // The Army Painter
If you're looking to dive in, you can get started with the Starter Set (appropriately), which includes ten colours. This set introduces ten different colours houses within Felt-Tech markers. There are nine acrylics: Magic Blue, Fire Giant Orange, Hardened Leather, Grim Black, Pallid Bone, Orc Skin, Zealot Yellow, Gravelord Grey and Blood Red, plus one metallic in the set, Polished Silver.

You will also get ten replacement tips included within the set, so you can switch out the ends of your pens as you go through the process of using them on your miniatures. There is also a painting guide and care booklet included within the set, which will teach you how to use these pens.

What's quite nice about these Speedpaint Markers is that they allow you to quickly and easily get paint down onto your miniatures without the hassle of caring for your brushes, sorting out a palette and then clearing it all up. As you might have guessed, the Speedpaint Markers make use of The Army Painter's Speedpaint range, which has been designed to give you a one-coat method for getting your miniatures painted. Perfect for those looking to get an army "tabletop-ready".

Whilst you could easily use these to just get some paint down on your miniatures, you can also use these pens to do all sorts of other painting techniques too. For example, the Pallid Bone included within the set is perfect for adding a dash of weathering to the end of cloaks that have been dragged through the mud.
Equally, the different primary colours included within the set could be applied over traditional metallic paints to give them a magical effect. I like the idea that these Speedpaint Markers will just be another interesting tool in the arsenal of a painter rather than just being the preserve of a newcomer looking to get miniatures done and dusted.

You can also check out our review of the older Speedpaint Markers made in conjunction with Deep-Cut Studio. Roman Lappat's vision was the one that spurred on the creation of these markers and it's great to see they have been iterated on with this new set.

Check out the videos and then consider which of the two Speedpaint 2.0 Marker sets you're going to be picking up. You can get the Starter Set or an Introductory Set if you're just looking to try out these markers to see if they fit the way you paint.
Speedpaint Marker Introductory Set // The Army Painter
I hope that we're going to be seeing more from the Speedpaint Markers range after this initial release. There are just two sets right now but there are plenty of Speedpaints that could be transferred into Marker form, so you could potentially even entirely switch over to these should you desire.

Paint with MÖRE SPEEEEEED!
Might give them a go.
Yeah I’m tempted to snap them up
I just noticed:
Introductory Set €12,99 (4,33 per pen)
Starter Set €48,99 (4,899 per pen)
Aren’t bigger sets usually cheaper per unit? oO
Anyhow, waiting for FLGS putting them in stock
@sundancer MÖAR SPEED! Oh yeah!
The most used colors for a good selection
Would be interesting to try. Although in the future they need to develop a finer tip brush for getting into odd crevices and picking out the smaller details.
This has been my experience with AK and Gundam paint pens: can’t get where a brush would get you @fightcitymayor
same, i got some AK on my desk but i never actually use them apart from the first 2 days i got them. some are very leaky, i didnt find any to be really usefull tbh.
