Elder Maxson & Lancer Captain Kells
I had fun with this set! Elder Maxson in his padded jacket is one of my favourite sculpts so I had been looking forward to it.
The power armoured figure is also Elder Maxson, but could easily be used as a regular Brotherhood of Steel Paladin.
The third figure is Lancer Captain Kells and was another nice sculpt to paint up.
Welcome to the Vault
It just wouldn’t be Fallout without a Vault to discover, would it?
This is 3d printed with polyfiller, sand and cork added for texture/gap filling. It will sit on a board edge for scenario purposes and possibly combined with my battlesystems card interiors terrain if I want to do a Vault Interior.
I am considering knocking out some rocky cliff face pieces to go alongside it at some point to create a more substantial board edge/ rocky protrusion. Time will tell!
Wrecked Corvega
I have had this FDM 3d print sat about for awhile needing something done with it. It was a rough print (I think my brother’s printer had some nozzle issue when this was done) so I decided to half bury it and weather the crap out of it!
I didn’t want to spend too long on it so slapped on a Vallejo Jade Green bascoat, then did a very crude highlighting/faded paint pass by mixing the green with some bonewhite.
Then I liberally drybrushed gunmetal over it, followed by Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust, then finished with drybrushing plate mail silver.
That’ll do, a mangled old wreck for the Wasteland!
Toxic Pools Gooplete
And with that, I’m calling these done and moving on. The barrels have been rusted up with some Typhus Corrosion & Ryza Rust, and I tried to add a bit of glow to the radioactive fungi.
The goopy water is AK Interactive’ Swamp Water effect. Which funnily enough is a thick goop!
Workin' down pit
Back to the (toxic) pits!
Some time ago now I did a test piece for toxic goo pits intending to do some more for a toxic dump themed board.
Now I am finally getting around to making more!
Also I have a pretty rough 3d print of a Modiphius Corvega car STL which I’m half covering in rubble (my brother’s printer had issues that day) and a Vault Entrance which I think came off Thingiverse.
Derelict Mansion
Another piece done, the Derelict Mansion from Sarissca Precision’s Marshport range is ready to go.
I have skipped the interior for now, but may come back to it later if I find it gets used.
Derelict House
Terrain time! This MDF kit is from Sarissca Precision’s new Marshport range, which is obviously great for Fallout.
I primed it grey (using TTCombat’s new Sprue Grey rattle can, quite happy with the coverage) then went to town dry brushing on cheap and cheerful art shop acrylics (from The Works if you are in the UK. I put them on with make up brushes, which are also cheap and cheerful.
I layered up with browns through ivory, some grey looking for the weathered look and even straight up white to pick out details and get some contrast.
I finished up by sealing with a Matt spray then breaking out the model mates (now Dirty Down I think) to really grubby it up.
I have a Derelict Mansion to do next, so the warm up is done!
