About the Project
This project will be my progress with painting the miniatures for Reichbusters: Projekt Vril boardgame. This will include all of the expansions. I will attempt to do a painting tutorial using the paints from the Army Painter Reichbusters paint set along with doing some in other paints for those that do not have the paint set.

shading and light
Washing with Army Painter Strong Tone on the cloth and Nuln oil on the black.
For flesh I used Reikland Fleshshade.
For highlights I used the base color to pull the area out from the shade then used Buster Flesh to lighten the color. I then drybrushed and/or edge highlighted depending on the piece.
The uniform I did not use the base color. The color of Russian uniforms is a light brownish green. I used the following ratio of colors
- Russian Uniform
- Army Painter Veteran Leather (1) + Army Painter Grunt Green (1) + Army Painter Comrade Brown (2) or
- vallejo ochre brown 70.856 (3) + vallejo olive green 70.967 (2) + vallejo red leather 70.818 (1)
I switched to a ratio as it is a waste of paint if I did full drops for such a small painted area
I also painted the eyes by putting down a black under circle for the eyes then I used xx6 claw to paint the whites then added a dot of black for the pupil. I then used Buster flesh to clean up around the eyes and then flesh wash to merge everything.
Lastly I put a coat of AK Interactive Ultra Matt Varnish

Paints used
Note: for a lot of the painting I add just a bit of matt black to darken the color. The Matt Black is very strong and it does not take a lot to turn everything more to the dark side (hah) so be be cautious with the amount of black used

- Army Painter Grunt Green (1 drop) + a bit of Matt Black ( a brush tip)

Final Pictures
I tried to post these as individuals but the site keep dumping me back to the start of the project. I think it is the size of all of the pictures so I put them in a single strip.
Almost Done
Before I highlighted the mini I varnished it with AK interactive Ultra Matte.
I added the following colors
- Added wood to gun
- Army Painter Veteran Leather
- All metal bits including highlighting gun (buttons, leather buckles, canteen cap, knife handle parts)
- Gun Metal
- Collar/shoulder strips along with cross outline and arm insignia
- Army Painter 6XX Claw
- Goggle lens reflection
- Gun Metal
- I used base color of individual parts and added a little of Buster Flesh to create the highlight color.
- I used dry brushing on some items along with edge highlights
- I painted the base
- brick area
- Veteran Leather + Comrade Brown
- washed with Agrax Earthshade
- highlighted with base color
- street area
- Matt Black + Shrieker Grey
- washed with Nuln Oil
- highlighted with base color + 6XX Claw (a little bit)
- brick area
I finished the mini with another coat of AK Interactive Ultra Matt Varnish skipping metal parts.
I then varnished flesh, leather with vallejo matt varnish (I find it to be a semi matt)
lastly I varnished the lens with gloss.
Complete.
Time to wash
I used the following washes
- Face
- Reikland Fleshwash
- Black areas to include leather
- Nuln Oil
- Back items, jacket, pants and helmet area
- Army Painter Strong Tone (thinned)
