About the Project

This project will be my progress with painting the miniatures for Reichbusters: Projekt Vril boardgame. This will include all of the expansions. I will attempt to do a painting tutorial using the paints from the Army Painter Reichbusters paint set along with doing some in other paints for those that do not have the paint set.

I painted the boots, gloves, gun and neck/face cover black.  I used Contrast paint Black Templar but you can also use Army Painter Matt Black. I actually used both to play with coverage.

Paint used

GW Black Templar Contrast

Army Painter Matt Black

The inside shirt and outer coat is the same color and the pants are a different color.  From my research the pants could be the same color as the shirt and coat but I wanted to make them a bit different.

Shirt and Jacket use (again from battlefront)

Army Painter Shrieker Grey (2 drops)

Reich Green (1 drop)

From Battlefront they use

Vallejo Field Grey (830) I color matched the above to this one

On to the Helmet

I apologize for the picture it is a little washed out.  The pictures will get better later as I played around with testing the camera and different backgrounds and settings.

The helmet and back gas canister will be this color.  I found from battlefront website the colors to use German Camo Dark Green (979).  I do have this paint but I wanted to use the Army Painter Reichbuster paint set so I mixed the paint from those to match the German Camo Dark Green (979).

I mixed 1 drop of Army Painter Reich Green with a tip of Matt Black.  You have to play with it as the black will over take the green quite quickly.

Paints Used

Army Painter Reich Green 1 drop mixed with Army Painter Matt Black (1/10 drop ish) (about a brush tip worth)

I matched it to vallejo German Camo Dark Green (979)

I start with the flesh and then work my way out.

I used Vallejo (Nocturna)  Base Flesh first then I used Army Painter Buster Flesh for the face and hands.  I later will paint over the hands as I realized after the fact that he is wearing gloves.

Paint Color used:

Vallejo (Nocturna) Base Flesh 74.004

Army Painter Buster Flesh

Starting with german Soldier. It has been primed black and then white zenith.

I use Stynylrez black as the base primer and then used Liquitex white for a strong zenith.  I wanted a strong white as I planned to use contrast paints.  I ended up getting the Army Painters Reichbusters paint set which I will use.  I will post the paints used and amounts and will try to use different manufactures on subsequent minis and post the colors I used later.
