About the Project
I've been playing and painting Conquest for years. Even before release but #PathofConquest had inspired me to focus on one (of my 4) army(ies) and get that grey plastic evicted and replaced with a sick looking force of Spire creations ;)

A change of path...
So my #pathofconquest #milestone2 got thrown into utter chaos last month when I got trapped in Norway and since trying trying catch up, I’ve only fallen further behind due to family commitments over the holiday period yet BEHOLD! progress has been made ?
Firstly, I launched paint at my vanguards to get them finished with an assault preceptor. These are both some if my favourite models and they always perform in game. These 4 stands pump out 36 attacks when they all get to swing and with evade 2, they stand a chance against the heaviest hitters.
Sadly, the executor and marksmen have taken a back seat for now, making way for a mimetic assassin. The ultimate killing machine.
I love this model but the game didn’t. That is until the 1.03 updates making it impossible for characters to indefinitely hide in regiments and quite I’m bored of being terrified if everyone’s characters ? so now I have a scary ass assassin with evade 5 (heightened reflexes) and lethal strikes (venom) who strikes blows before the enemy (quicksilver strikes) and makes them appear for fight like an amateur at -1 clash when they do (disorienting strikes). The access to 2 mutations makes the Mimetic Assassins really versatile and there are many many builds that work ?
Trapped in Norway ?
Mile stone 2 assembled
So milestone one brought with it, a decay spreading Plaguelord and an elite monster amongst a sea of disposable Drones… so in a stak contrast, mt milestone 2 will bring elite infantry.
My elite infantry leader, an Elite. The Executor can do it all. Fight, shoot and the ultimate tactician all in one. To show his skill at arms and diversity, I’ve converted this one to have 3 arms like his Marksmen (also to represent the marskmanship mastery granting him +2 barrage). 2 dangerously caressing his great glaive, the 3rd wielding a crossbow pistol with a longbow on his back and quiver of arrows at his waist.
The Vanguard clones are tougher and faster than the Drones and come with evade 2 giving them a fighting chance against the heaviest hitters and with 2 attacks each and Fury (granted by the Assault Preceptor), they can land a flood of blows. So too can the marksmen, with barrage 2 at an impressive 28″ range, they can blot out the sun with arrows.
In this milestone, I’ll be running the Executor with the marksmen and using the fire and advance tactic. As I expand, I’d like him to roll with Infiltrators and allow the marskmen to take full advantage of Arching Fire, shooting from the safe spots behind my battle lines!
Arcan retinue : Master of flesh
Looking into retinue for the biomancer is immense. Tier 3 Master of Flesh with the Plaguelord mastery and Degenerative aura mutation make this guy a beast… just shy away from combat characters if you can. Evade 2 only gets you so far ?
Not only does he perform a D6 heal on his own unit and D3 on all units within 8″ as a draw event. As a character action he can heal 1 to 2 wounds on a character per turn (tier one) has resist decay(1) aaaaand can select an extra biomacy for a total of 3 aaaaaand activate 2 draw events per turn AAAAAAND just his presence confers dacay (4 on infantry, 3 cav and brutes, 2 on monsters) on any regiment that dares to go toe to toe with then. A very pricy combination but potentially evil ? mwahahahahaha
