Since everyone is wearing a duster, I spray painted everyone with Army Painter Skeleton Bone. After that, I started on a few details such as hands, faces and hair. I painted up the beards on Charlie Prince and Ike Clanton and the bases for everybody. I painted up the beards on Charlie Prince and Ike Clanton and the bases for everybody.

This version of Charlie Prince is from the 2007 version of 3:10 to Yuma. The original film was released in 1957.

I used Vallejo Dark Flesh for the face and hands and Army Painter Babe Blonde for the beard and hair.  I then washed the hands, face, hair and beard with GW Reikland Flesh Shade.  While the photo doesn’t do it justice, it looks pretty good in person at normal tabletop ranges.

For the white leather jacket I mixed 3 parts of Army Painter Speed Paint Medium with their Holy White speed paint. The brass buttons on the jacket and pants are Vallejo Brass. The belt and holsters are Army Painter Oak Brown. The pants are Army Painter Fur Brown and the pistol grips are Vallejo Mahogany Brown. Both got washed with GW Seraphim Sepia. The sweatband on the hat is Army Painter Skeleton bone and it was also washed with Seraphim Sepia.

The hat and pistols are Army Painter Matte Black drybrushed with GW Eshin Grey. The bases are Army Painter Desert Yellow. I haven’t done it in this step yet but I’ll dry brush the bases with Skeleton Bone.

I’ll need to do a few touch ups on Charlie but he’s fairly close to being done.

Like most gamers I found myself working on multiple projects but now I’m back to working on my posse.

I’ve laid in most of the base colors but still have a few to go. I’ve laid in most of the base colors but still have a few to go.

In the photo above I’m trying to replicate some of the great bad guys in a couple westerns movies.   Left to right is Charlie Prince from 3:10 to Yuma, Ike Clanton from Tombstone, Ben Wade from 3:10 to Yuma and Butler from Open Range. I don’t recognize the remaining three so if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

I used an artist’s paint spatula to apply basing compound to help blend in the puddle based on the minis. I’ll let it dry overnight and then apply sand with PVA glue. Great Escape Games minis are characterful but will require flash removal and seam removal/filing. Glued to MDF bases, I’ll cover the bases in a basing compound to help conceal those puddle bases on the minis.
