No doubt BoW will have a chat about Storm of Magic – pretty big GW news, but as Manpug said would be great to know more about other projects going on at the moment.

I would have thought necrons will be a while yet, the back of the latest white dwarf is advertising next months sisters of battle codex, so it will be plastic women before plastic robots I should think.

10pm was there so that people overseas could watch the show at a better time – and it means I get to finish up stuff during the day and just drink beer all night, playing boardgames and then watch Turn 8 with my buddies while we finish off a game of Civilization lol – so not too bad heh
odd question maybe but why is it called Turn 8 ?
(I Think) Its because a game of 40k/Warhammer lasts 7 turns so this it the ‘extra’ turn after the game should have ended…or something like that. I swear they said why it was called Turn 8 last time they did the show heh.
Plus it used to be on at 8. So you turn on at 8. Me I turn on all day…. 😉

OK! So lets agree that Darrel must never be allowed to take his pants of again……EVER!
Now for starters I really like the P3 paints a lot. I have been buying a lot of them recently and have a fairly good collection. That said I still like the GW foundations and washes. But I might pick up some other paints like the reaper and secret weapon washes.
I do like the idea of you guys trying to get more wargaming stuff to try out. Some ideas of what to try if I may, Ex Illis(when it all gets back up), Warlord, and Warcanto. Also the Relics game would be a fun one to see.
Now as to the storm of magic. I honestly kinda like it. I would like to see some demos but I have to say I have to agree with you on some of the models. Dragon is awsome and I will get for my brother(he loves Dark elves). I actually like the chimera and cockitrice, but as a chaos dwarf fan I am really happy that they are re-releasing both the great taurus and lamassu models. Kinda worried about about them being finecast but hopefully they will not have the peoblems they had when they first made them.
Well can’t wait for the next episode of turn 8. Also can’t wait to give Warpath a try.
I gotta be honest.. I just can’t see what the hype is all about with WARPATH… More Space orcs and dwarves??

Warhammer equals He-Man? At first I recoiled a little but the more I think about it, the more I realize that it has more than just a small part of truth to it. Bigger and bigger parts of the Warhammer Fantasy range has made me retch at how horrible they look (I think it truly started with the plastic Minotaurs, friggin’ Belgian Blue freaks), and these latest models are no better. Of course this is just my personal opinion, for all I know most of you people out there might actually like this style.
On another note though, does anyone have the picture on the Frothers-site they are refering to in the vid? I tried looking for it myself but the site in question doesn’t seem the easiest to navigate.
Sorry I should have watched the whole video before I asked about the picture.
A he-man and his masters of the universe would make a great fantasy army, just wonder wich army book you will need.

Sorry just like point out that the Vendetta in the Q-CON painting comp was mine not Ivor’s and yes it took 1st in the Large and Open category. Ivor’s mini’s were really nicely done and deserved to win I also took 3rd in the Scifi mini category with my Alpha Legion Librarian

Was a good show and enjoyed the chat. Have to say on the Storm of Magic front; I quite like the odd chaotic nature of the models and the painting in lurid colours and let’s not forget that Warhammer did LOOK like He-Man about 20/30 years ago lol, all gaudy and camp looking.
I get my ”grim, dark and gritty” Warhammer from Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay nowadays anyway so it doesn’t bother me so much – and if I want to play Warhammer on the tabletop we do Warhammer skirmish more than anything else too.
Well, as I said in chat at the time, when the nappy appeared, I thought darrell had turned to Tyranids and was going to show us his old one eye, which disturbed me for the rest of the night.
In all seriousness, well done, I laughed so much I was nearly sick , I woke the cat and the wife wanted to know what I was up to.

Another good show guys, it is getting harder and harder to resist picking up some Relics, and I am looking forward to the Warpath beta.
As for Storm of Magic; I get the same general impression. I want to like it and may enjoy it once I get a look at the rules but the models do not really do anything for me.
While the models are not bad they just do not capture my attention; I do not think it is simply “burnout” over all the releases. Instead I think it is a result of all the options that are now available to a player/collector/hobbyist.
For example if I wanted a chimera I would probably pick up the Banebeasts one instead, for a Manticore I would probably go to Raging Heroes and as for the Black Dragon I honestly prefer the new offering from Darksword miniatures. In my opinion the three monsters I have listed capture the essence of a monster better than their GW equivalents.
I think the presence of so many alternatives takes some of the excitement out of GW releases but also raises the general standard of models available to us whether they be in plastic, metal or resin which has to be a good thing and a net gain for the hobby in general.

I have to disagree with you on the dragon there Warren. I feel that The GW dragons have “Head too big for body” syndrome. I noticed it in most of their dragon models. The one that I was most impressed with was the 6th ed HElf Dragon model. But all in all their dragons have been on the cartoony side for a while now. I believe the best of the new monster bunch are the chimaera and the cockatrice. The cockatrice has a certain something that makes it seem very original.
