Nice Vid guys! I’ve been sharing these with some of my buddies that play 40k.
They didn’t know about the Carcharodon Chapter either. But now we do thanks to our two 40k professors.
Great show again. Really enjoyed the carcharadons weekend! They do have Librarians. Like mentioned in the Imperial Armour Vol. 10 – The Badab War (part 2), page 117:
“…The chapter also included both Chaplains and Librarians conforming to the roles ascribed to them by the Codex…” 🙂
Think you are trying your hardests not to say Kardashians in all these vids 🙂
Lol.
Yes to Librarians, Sharks have a sensory organ that allows them to detect the electrical impulses from their preys nervous system at range.
Lighting claws, loads of’em.
Hey there, I haven’t played 40k in a while. Don’t drop pods get some sort of beacon that helps other deep striking units?
It is always sad to see the end of shark week, I mean, Carcharodon week, I mean Carcharodon weekend.
From a totally fluff perspective, I think it would be cool for the sharks to be completely anti psyker. From what you have said, they are all bout the cult of the emperor and as direct descendants, would probably hold his every word as law over that that some upstart priest might say or do. In the books,at the councel, the emperor dictated the librarium was to be disbanded. He did not say anything about the navigators or astopaths. If the sharks hung on his every word, I do not think they would go directly against his edicts. In the current rule set, do they have untouchables? That would be a cool fluff way to take out other psykers if they do.
loved it, well don lads.
Hello Folks, love the Carcharodons weekend, its just freaken awesome. Now here is the problem y’all have made me want to make my new army for 20016 the Carcharodons. Do y’all knew any one who is making space shark shoulder pads. or can you find out if FW is going to make them.
@pepsidan FW used to to a range, but they stopped doing them because they weren’t a popular chapter unfortunately.
All FW does for them now is this http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Tyberos-The-Red-Wake#
@pepsidan I was looking around as I was thinking about starting a force and found these as I cannot get the decals (unable to find them) for the shoulders.

I think you guys are going off an older Rage rule which meant you had to always move towards the enemy. The New rule just gives you +2 Attacks on the charge which also really fits their fluff of precision killing
if they don’t/ cant have librarians what about imperial guard psykers? as allies.
Following my thought train, I don’t think they would use any offensive psykers. I don’ t remember exactly which book now, but I seem to remember that the Emperor wanted the librarium disbanded because of the destruction they caused and it stirred up the warp more being used offensively.
Now, admittedly, this is all from the heresy books, and I have been playing the game in one form or another sense the late 80’s, so I may be mixing a bunch of different sources together. But I have been wondering that if this was a law set down by the father of all the marines, not including the traitors here, are all of them being disloyal? If I remember right, it was the great and perfect Guilliman that reinstated the use of the librarium, and then went on the codify them in his books. Doesn’t this make him a traitor as well?
This is just a fluff discussion. As a player, I could not imagine not having those psykers in my back pocket. Being an old school player, I miss the power they once had.
I do enjoy ranting about stuff like this, as the group I play with, when I do get to play, only do narrative games. We have one poor solar system that they have been trashing for over 25 years now, lol. I haven’t gotten to play in a couple of years now, because of life happening, but they still fight over it every once in awhile. I was also disillusioned with GW for a bit there with the way, I perceived, they were treating customers and other gaming entities, this place included. But the books and some of the models they have been doing, is sucking me back in.
But back to the fluff. I think it would be cool to have a chapter that follows the Emperors word as law, and being out of the galaxy so much, they are not corrupted by the changes that the lowly humans in the government and the church, have made.
My take on the non disbanding of librarium was that it would be closing the door after the horse has bolted. If it had been observed before the heresy got up to speed then it might have made a difference, after the fact it would be leaving the imperium with an even bigger weakspot than the bureaucracy and infighting already present offers.
That said i like your interpretation of why they are out of the galaxy so much, also miss dark millennium psychic rules as well
