Let’s Play: Warhammer 40k – Constantine’s Folly
March 14, 2019 by dignity
Justin has recruited Cad from 4Ground to play some Warhammer 40k from Games Workshop.

We hid John away to steal his armies to play this custom scenario called, Constantine's Folly. The Prussonians have been working away in the rubble to find secret intel and the Stone Templars have called in an ambush to take what's rightfully theirs, or so they think...
Who will win in this battle of baldy superstars, can Justin maintain his throne or will Cad become the new supreme gamer here OnTableTop?
Do you like Cad's story for this scenario?

What was that cheeky nonsense at 1:23:05? Earlier in the game, “Justin forgets to do something, so I’ll keep it to myself.” then “Oh no, I forgot something. Let me try and change this.” Good on Justin for calling it out. Lol. You own up to your mistakes.
that is a brilliant table.
Nope, it’s not Frostgrave nor is it Badgers and Burrows. No Ben, nope, nope, nope.
I hope that playing the game is more exciting, but 40k seems to really feel jaded and old now when watching it compared to all the other smaller skirmish games.
Even Justin and Cad seemed to trudge through the rules without appearing to be able to really get immersed into the battle story – always having to look up tables and rules (yes I know that play it more you know all the rules) – but it still feels like to “boring” a game for a new player to get into.
If I was asked to play a new game after watching this or after watching say a lets play of dark age or even bolt action, i’d pick dark age etc everyday.
I think I need to try 40k to try to get what others see in it, but the whole you do everything then I do everything just doesn’t appeal. Still until I give it a go I will reserve judgement. Plus 40k does have the best lore and unit designs for sci-fi, so a double edged sword lol.
Kill team I think is going to drag me into the 40k gaming, so maybe i’ll eventually try a bigger 40k game like this.
Love love love the 4ground terrain. Really like the way the new rules work for the game.
As a regular 40k player and being some kind of person who my friends seem to call a walking rulebook, the amount of rules you got wrong were quite a lot. I don’t remember them everything you got wrong, but here is a couple of points that may help. But you kept to the most important rule and that is to have fun.
-Leadership, you roll 1D6 and add the casualties from the whole turn to the result. The total has to be lower or equal than the highest leadership in the unit or you will lose guys equal to the amount you’re over. This has changed significantly from 7th.
-Pistols can be fired when a unit is locked in close combat, but only at the closest enemy unit. If the unit is not locked into close combat they can shoot their pistol instead of any other weapon, but at any valid target in range.
Any more questions, just ask.
lovely table and cool scenario .. thorough you kept been obsessed by doing morale checks when there all done in there own phase
