Spoiled earlier in the week online, Games Workshop has unscrambled the messaged through The Warp and revealed, in full, what's coming in the distant future for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team and the climax of the story that will begin with Kill Team: Tomb World (up for pre-order soon).

Shadowhunt // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

The set that will form the final chapter of the Tomb World narrative is Shadowhunt and will see the Adepta Sororitas going up against Warp Talons in service of the forces of Chaos. Deep beneath the surface of Garranox, a tomb complex has been uncovered, so the Battle Sisters of the Order of Our Martyred Lady have been sent to hunt down a dangerous heretic known as the Harbinger, as well as whatever else lies beneath the ground.

Celestian Insidiants // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

The Celestian Insidiants have been outfitted with some of the finest anti-psyker wargear available to them. They even carry Condemnor Bolt Pistols, which fire silver stakes! They are also decorated with spiritual talismans that should shield them from the heretical Harbinger, who has been twisted by the finding of the tomb complex.

Going up against them are the forces of the Murderwing. This mix of twisted and mutated Raptors and Warp Talons descends from on high, plucking the unfortunate up into the clouds before tearing them apart.

Murderwing // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

Both of these Kill Teams will dive into a new set of scenarios where the game is split between two smaller boards. One half of your game will take place on an upper section of the battleground, whilst the other is on the lower level, deep beneath the ground.

Shadowhunt Set-Up - Warhammer 40K Kill Team

Shadowhunt Set-Up // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

There are two double-sided boards coming in the upcoming Shadowhunt boxed set but you could also use the rules with other Killzones if you have them available. There are three Joint Ops missions included in the box where a combined Kill Team will battle past Necron drones seeking out a terrible and vile power source. If you saw the reveals from earlier, you'll know what's in there.

If you go a different route, you can dive into Adversary Ops, where one team is attacking and the other is trying to stop you from unleashing the horror locked within the Blackstone sarcophagus.

As mentioned, this is going to be the end of the Tomb World storyline, so there will be a lot more between now and then when it comes to the new narrative for Kill Team. Tomb World isn't even on pre-order yet!

Roadmap - Warhammer 40K Kill Team

Roadmap // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

With Shadowhunt not coming until 2026, there is certainly going to be at least one more boxed set popping up in the middle of all of this. It will be intriguing to see which Kill Teams pop up between now and then and if we get to see more intriguing reveals for the Necrons. The Nightbringer was a welcome sight but there's plenty more secrets within the depths of Necron lore that could be awoken.

Are you going to be giving this new Kill Team campaign a go?
