Warhammer 40,000’s Da Red Gobbo Gets A Robotic Upgrade
October 16, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop this week previewed their new Christmas miniature for Da Red Gobbo that will be "wrecking the halls" of many a gaming table in Warhammer 40,000. This time around, the cunning revolutionary has got himself a robotic upgrade.

Rocking the nutcracker vibes, this new contraption from Da Red Gobbo is used to deliver "presents" to Orks and Gretchin alike. Whether you've been naughty or nice, the Tinboy will be coming to share his gifts with you. He has been themed to look like a Vostroyan Firstborn, which works with the nutcracker theme.

I'm not a massive fan of the miniature myself but I'm sure that some folks will find a way to weave this into their armies. It could also just be a fun painting project for someone. I don't think it helps that you can't tell what's happening with the pose of the miniature until you see it from a few different perspectives.
As well as the miniature, you'll also be able to get a new book focused on the character, Da Red Gobbo's Last Stand.
Da Red Gobbo's Last Stand // Black Library
Driven by the smouldering spirit of Da Red Gobbo, a lowly Grot by the name of Bodgit will see if they can survive in the depths of a space hulk, trying all they can to outwit Kaptin Bloodhook and the rest of his Freebooters. A tale of heroism for the ages.
It would be great to get an actual, updated Da Red Gobbo miniature like you see on the cover of Last Stand. Maybe we'll eventually see one pop up alongside the plethora of festive figures.
What do you make of this new Christmas miniature?

I’m going to sound like Moaning Myrtle here but I really think they are overdoing it. Da Red Gobbo was such a nice idea and the models usually cool in some way. But this sculpt is “meh”. And I find it hard to comprehend. When I first saw the pictures it really took me a moment to see what they where trying to show. Maybe because the Nutcrackers front is facing a totally different direction as his head and the gobbo are. It’s cluttered to death both in model detail as in painting. It’s a toy. But I’m sure it’ll find it’s buyers as always and in 10 years time will be a “collectible”.
The book will be a purchase, the mini … I agree: bit weak.
I’m just waiting for GW to claim the IP on Christmas and then start suing anyone else who tries to use it.
