Warmachine Tactics Is Looking Great & Playable!
November 15, 2013 by brennon
White Moon Dream’s upcoming Warmachine: Tactics video game is now in a basic but playable state. This is great news as it means the game is coming along really well despite not being near the Alpha stage at the moment.
Above we have one of their development diaries and you can check out the progress on the game (skip to 7:53 for gameplay!).
This game is looking gorgeous; I wish I’d had the money to back it when it was on Kickstarter. Using the Unreal Engine will also be a huge boost as it’s one of the best engines to work with. You can tell from the quality of their work that these guys are passionate about this which will make the game that much better when it finally comes out.

Looking pretty good, sadly I didn’t back this as it was only possible to do it via PayPal and I don’t get along with it very well. Still, I’ll be buying this at some point prior or after it’s official release for sure.
Looks like the quality is increasing since the first previews. Hoping it’ll be a fun and polished game by the end of it. If I were to put out one complaint (personal opinion and preference) then it would be that I don’t like the fact the game is grid-based. In my opinion it kind of defeats a certain degree of tactical maneuverability if you’re constrained to moving in 4 directions/diagonally. Perhaps it might’ve been better to keep to a more tabletop true free movement system with virtual inches for movement and such. I’m not entirely sure but, to me the whole square grid based thing makes it feel very rigid.
Either way I’m happy with the progress of the game though, it looks good so far and I’ll be waiting to see how it will turn out.
Looking very nice think my copy (and junior warcasters) was money well invested 🙂
