I know that many people hate these particular versions of the Daemonettes. I have no problem with the child friendliness of them, however i do think like the Seekers they have rather static feel to them, which is a shame.
I’m sure that a more striking/dancing like pose could have been achieved along the lines of the previous metal models or indeed the Wood Elf Wardancer’s or Eldar Harlequin models?

Pretty much ever GW kit has numbers beside parts that fit together on the other side of the sprue from the gates John. :p Once you know that you pretty much have to go out of your way to mess it up. 🙂
They’re nice but its the same problem with the horrors, it feels like they’ve taken away a little bit of the character in making them more realistic.
I don’t like Chaos and especially Demon models to begin with, but in this case, I think the old metal Demonettes looked much better, and, to be completely honest, I think these models look terrible. Slaneesh represents the terrible seduction of the sins of the flesh, and the devilishly enticing malice that was the previous incarnation of demonettes portrayed that image much more efficiently than these ugly hags. That being said, I am glad that GW decided to go with a more appropriate image for the demonettes. I’m not a child, but I am a Christian wargamer (please don’t hate, please?) and I did feel uncomfortable seeing the old models on the online store every once in a while simply browsing around. However, when it comes down to it…I’m not likely at all to buy any of either iteration anyhow, so my opinion on this matter is truly irrelevant. 🙂
Lame jokes aside, those are some nice sculpted models.
Just wanted to again make a small point of the fact that it’s ‘Slaanesh’ and not ‘Slaneesh’.
As you might already expect, these are perhaps my least favourite plastic models in the GW range, and its not even neccesarily because of their own quality (which is poor, however). As has been mentioned, Daemonettes are meant to look disturbingly attractive, and represent seduction and sin. The 6th ed metal ones were spot on, because although they were modelled to look attractive, the fact that they had thick tentacled hair, chitinous arm-blades (very Tyranid-esque, I found), horns, and an inordinate number of bosoms made them look kind a little ‘off’.
These plastics, on the other hand, are just downright ugly. Nothing about them conveys that imagery, and in the case of some they’re just outright repellant. The models themselves are all identically posed, and there is little conversion opportunity due to the way they assemble – the only option you really have is how the claws go on, and even then you’re just rotating them, really.
All in all, the kit creates a dull, ugly, and immobile looking unit that displays absolutely none of the character that it’s supposed to, and the change in design just reeks of ‘kiddifying’ the Daemons, and indeed Chaos in general. Some of the parts are actually very nice (the three heads with the most hair, the champion claws reminiscent of the old ones, and the banner), but the kit as a whole is a terrible one, and it just pushes me to seek out the old metals on eBay all the more every time I see it!
i proffered the old miniatures, i mean whats with that, People killing and slashing and gutting, raping, enslaving, executing and mutating to name a small hand full of things in 40k, these are okay for kids? but a Human Breast wasn’t? wHOOOA hold your horse, you sicko that’s just wrong that’s a boob! that’s plan evil! protect the brittle mind of the children. pfft get over yourselves. if you allow your kid to portend to use army to kill thousands yet a miniture boob is sick? wtf?,.. well you get where am going with this
=3 not like i don’t like the new miniatures or anything, its just a little silly on the fluff in my opinion, just look at sigvald the magnificent.
Just a tip for everyone here wanting to make a nice looking even if abit expensive combine them with the eldar harlequin legs
Servants of the god of hedonism should be hedonistic. I for one want the disturbing/erotic/disturbing old metal minis back, they where SO much better then these plastic PG Hags.

as a rule I normally like the new plastic minis over the old metals, but these are an exception. there not bad, but there not better.
The previous metal Daemonettes were spot on, splendid models with mobility and character.
These are simply not good.

These daemonettes aren’t bad…I mean if you compare them to the old old metals they are pretty good.
The only problem is that the previous metals, regardless of if you felt the represented Daemonettes correctly or not, were pretty much the nicest models GW ever produced, and this kit is the cause of their removal from sale. So it’s bound to take some flak for that.
The previous metal were ideal they even incorporated feral fertility depictions in the form of multiple breasts.
And most importantly metal was the ideal medium to carry such detail, plastic cannot do undercuts so the female form must somehow be covered to hide such limitations.
I could compare the new plastics with the old old metals and the metal sculpts would win because they had character (though I can’t say they aged well), comparing them to the second sculpts they would win, because the second metal sculpts were a joke, but the problem is the third metal sculpts were so good that anything done in plastic is a step backwards.

To be honest, these received a lot of flak when the first sneak peaks came out, but then when they were painted people liked them more.
I agree that they do seem a little bland in terms of positioning, but the detail is actually quite good.
What I hate most is that you have to give a specific leg to a specific body (of which there is no warning and, unlike cazboab’s comment, they don’t have any numbering for pairing them up) and, in particular, the tiny joints between the top of the arm and the rest of said arm (which is also in an awkward place: as a ball and socket or at the armband to hide the joint would be better) and to a lesser extent the small neck joint (which would be better as a flat joint like the arms instead of the ball and socket joint).
They disallow the movement and flexibility and are designed to conform to a specific shape. The customisability of non-conversions within a kit seems to be a thing of years gone by.
One thing in particular that I prefer to these over the old metals (although they are better, IMO) is that they are stunted in growth. Their body shape implies litheness and gracefulness, although the “curvier”, slightly more pounded body type of the old ones implied fertility better (but weren’t tall enough to come off as fertile dancing types).
One last thing: with the banner (as opposed to icon), there is a line beneath it – that is a claw, which you must glue onto that banner’s hand because otherwise it has been cut off 😉 Also, there is an arm beneath each standard that is designed for it (although the pair are intechangeable).
I think they look better now then they did before.
+ They really match up with the newest version of the bloodletters.
I have recently finished assembling and painting these slaanesh girls. (only the banner needs to be done, cant think of something to put on it yet)
Quick assembling(legs were a bit tricky,) and quick to paint for me aswell, (im not a fast painter im to picky and redo a lot), but i got a unit of 10 done in a few hours of time. (instead of 1 model in 2 or 3 hours)
And a big plus is that they’re very easy to line up, unlike the bloodletters.
