Time to kick off Infinity Week with our first look at the design of the ALEPH faction. The guys get a look at what didn't make it in to the art book and if these are the unfortunate ones that were left on the cutting room floor then I cant wait to see the amazing art work that the Infinity team have brought out for the ALEPH section in Art Book One.

Yay, Infinity week!!
aleph is evil, i love the idea of vampire paint job, just not twilight!!
I’d be very tempted by the ALEPH but I don’t like painting white and theres too much white in that faction.
I understand that is how CB paints them but you can paint your ALEPH however you want, they don’t have to be white. My Yu Jing are painted as if they came out of Tron, while my Haqq is a little more traditional. If you like the minis get them and have fun with the paint scheme until you find one you like.

I’m painting my Aleph with reds and leather and bronze… No white involved ! 🙂

Fascinating insight from Carlos. I love the way the overall theme is communicated by a consistent visual style, but tweaked by something as simple as a palette shift or pose to come across as more approachable.. or in the case of the Devas, more sinister. I can already feel some sort of Deva / ex-Ariadna Merc fan fiction writing itself in the back of my mind..

Aleph was my one of firsts armies i bought, because i like so much the idea of a supercomputer controling the world and a i like too the idea of best armed super soldier with an artificial body like section 9 in ghost in the shell, infact one of motives for i started this armie was the posthumans because the are like mayor motoko kusanagi the protagonist of ghost in the shell. regards
I love the idea of synthetic troops on the table it adds to the hyper-technology feel to the game and a freshness to the forces opposed to a bunch of grubby human soldiers fighting over a garbage tip.
The best faction!
Great design ideas for a super advanced computer to look to the common past of the Indo-European world in creating both a means to communicate and to defend itself. Maybe Aleph looks to other parts of history and will bring those forth?

Aleph is my third faction. I have a preference for the esthetic of the Indian subsection so i’m looking forward to the release of the Vedic sectorial!

Its good to get some insight into the ideas behind the Aleph models, some of the things Carlos said make sense of a few models in the range that seem to not fit quite as well as others, but this now makes sense to me!

The art work is stunning. It’s great that they know how to capture that concept art into model form just right.
I always think of either Skynet or Ghost in the Shell for this faction. If I ever play them it would be my Nomads ‘Section 9’ cyber commandos.

Love the background behind the art. I find that knowing the why in most things can really inform how you paint, play, or just feel about a particular force and allows your enjoyment of it to become even greater.
This game makes me want to try my skills at painting. Everyone has to start from somewhere, but failing in this case is not an option, so I guess I’ll ask a friend to help again.

Aleph design is indeed a masterpiece of minimalism and stylize, a really difficult thing to pull correctly.

I always liked Aleph models (well most of them), but on the game table the roughness of Ariadna is (for me) a little more attractive, so they are my 1st faction

ALEPH suddenly started looking better, my nomads will certainly not be happy about getting this neighbors on their shelf.
I play Nomads. I would still love to play Aleph though. With the Marut belonging to the ‘Indian’ section of the mythology, I would love/dread to think the TAG the ‘Greek’ side would get – assuming Achilles and Ajax don’t already count.
Well that’s the thing.. those guys really are human-sized TAGs! You have to treat them as such, and bring out the big guns if you want to take them down.

Amazing how you can have a distinctly clean race and yet still have so much detail in the miniatures. Very impressive designs.

I’ve always loved seeing the concept designs behind the Infinity minis.
Sold my Daemons and Dark Eldar and bought Dreadball and Infinity. Still kept my Space Marines, but I’m really enjoying the Corvus Belli system.
Keep ’em coming… but will we get any gameplay?

Its a joy to hear how sophisticated and deep and well thought the Infinitiy fluff is ! ( yo 40k, in your grim future candles make a glorious comeback ! why was that again ? )
Just starting with Infinity following demo game at Salute this year. I picked up Aleph Starter and a blister for me, but just had to buy the Pentesilea when I saw it. Also picked up a combined army starter and a few blisters to play against. For painting aleph white and black check out Aleph tutorials from Romain elsewhere on BoW. Going to be giving them a go myself. Picked up the first rulebook but Aleph werent in it so my bad, but the book’s fluff and artwork are great so will have to pick up the second one ;). Can’t wait for the rest of the week and to get all my stuff built and start playing.

Even though Aleph is IMO a little bit over the top ruleswise, I love the designs.
Nice video, Aleph are always popular due to their newish model range, hopefully as more of the older sculpts in the other ranges are updated we’ll see a bit more mix of factions.

While ALEPH is not my primary faction per se, they always make an appearance in my Imperial Service lists. The Sophotect (and her Yudbot) is truly a lifesaver, not to mention being rather good for those ITS scenarios requiring specialists!

I think Aleph will be my first faction in the game. Really love the models and fluff for this faction, and it’s interesting when ya see them painted in a darker colour scheme than the usual whites and greys too.

Aleph is my favorite faction. I’ve tried doing the white color scheme (which came out ok), but I’m thinking greys, blues/purples and silver. Gonna pick up another starter pack and see how that works out. Some of the pics of other painting schemes are very inspiring.

I don’t really agree with the decision to go with the Deva starter mini. Evil headmistress or not, shhe’s one of the ugliest Aleph models. Maybe if I saw her repainted (the old Uxia was pretty much the bad paintjob and the actual model looks awesome).
This is one of those factions I have always wanted to try playing. The models and the background lore are both enticing. But with my Yu Jing Sectorials, Ariadna Sectorials, and building a Pan O and *gasp* Nomads (the shame lol) armies on the side I forsee it will be some time till I get to them. 😉

Infinity, one of the best table top games ever invented. I’m a big GW gamer, hell I’ve been one since the Rogue days and I have seen nothing like this, from game system, figures, customer service, etc.
This company is just incredible, they put new figures monthly (Nobody does that) yes they have missed a couple of months but they stay strong.

Aleph is a very cool idea concerning the design AND the background. And in general it is the brilliant background of the cube and the body design technology which provides all these greek heros to shine again-for an A.I. with nontransparent plans which creates a curious kind of mistrust. I’m wondering, who will be the bad ass bad guy in the next years apart from the Combined Army: ALEPH, PanO, Yu Jing?
Infinity is perfect in a lot of aspects e.g. miniatures, background, game balance….Corvus Belli has done very good work and decisions and I hope it will go on this way.

ALEPH is by far the most impressive design achivement in my opinion, because everything is so sleek and subtle about them, yet the oooze character.
They are also really hard to paint well. I love em.
