Want to put those Rhinos to good use after you’ve emptied them of troops? How about using them to completely tie up a Landraider for 3 turns?
although legal – this does smell very cheesy and not for your friendly games. But maybe a simple diagonal line of rhino’s as a shield might look and play better? Rather than the traffic cop “takedown” move…

not really, blocking is a pretty standard tactic and if put to use well can totally change a game, you can use it to deny a flank, block movement, deny assaults its great. there is nothing wrong with playing well.
although legal, not what i would do. i would just deep strike the termies and risk the a misshap. but considering termies aren’t troops so can’t take objectives i would drop pod sternguard while using kantor.
those represented space wolves termies which can be infantry, i believe.
Sternguard and kantor in a drop pod? Thats not what the video is about. I suppose you could go to the cinema or have a ham sandwich instead too! lol
Termies are not normally troops unless you play something like dark angels deathwing list. So this video would have been better if it was a power armor squad inside the land raider. In a normal game on turn two at least 1 or 2 of those vehicles would be gone.

That is all well and good in a 500 point game but what happens when the rhinos are getting shot up by other things. Rhinos don’t last very long in the games I’ve played.
i think that this was purely conceptual.
@bloodhunter problem here is that SW terminators can’t deepstrike, and we can take objectives with Logan in the army.
Still a very annoying tactic but it works, as I’m painfully aware of.
The thing most ppl take thunder hammer termies and so the tactic falls apart

That would leave them unable to shoot or assault(or anything else) so the rhinos could drive round the sides just like if the land raider had driven away then deployed elsewhere.
Could the terminators not assault out of the vehicle directly and attack the Rhinos?
Yeah, I think they could. The LR would just back up a bit and assault all three tanks at once. Hop back in, drive on…Those termies need to have al least one chain fist. God for bid Lysander be inside He could get two rhinos by himself. Darrel should have left a window for the LR to drive through but one that sends it in the wrong direction. I have a Raider that I like to run this way. It has 6 terminators with 4 of them having chain fists. Mean!
bubbles15 ist right. Sam could just jump out with his terminators almost during all of his turns and just attack Darrells tanks with a multiple assault, because the LR has an assault ramp. Terminators with Lightning Claws still have 3 Attacks if they charge an can pop vehicles with a rear armor of 10 quiet easily, if they menage to hit of course. And let’s not forget, that he fired his gun just once. In a real battle he would have been able to demage at least on of the cheap tanks.
P.S.: Forgot to mention, that you/Sam always could go backwards with the LR and make room for the disembarking Terminators.
I’ve never seen that amount of room on a 40 k table to do this.
Could you not just Deep Strike Terminator Traffic Wardens? That would sort it out.
Correction: Was forgetting thatTraffic Wardens are usually SoB’s *prays* that none of that most estimable and hard working fraternity are not reading this!!!
i like videos like this. i like to see the in-game concepts discussed. the more we have models on the table and interacting in these vids the better they are.
i want to make a request for a long term goal: 500 point BoW dudes tournament. there are enough of you guys to represent most races, and we would be able to see your play style. make it double elimination… lol.
i really like the videos.
1. LR moves forward 12″ and spins with side at far end of 12″ mark. ……..place LR rear end to left and front ramp to right. this presents the maximum front facing availabe and is done to spread rhino wall out 1.a. LR uses best weapon available with power of machine spirit to target center vehicle 1.b. Terminators disembark to max distance forward leaving just hint of base within 2″ and angle Right. 1.c. Terminators Run d6 again with angle to right. (Possible distance toward objective from start…12+4+6) (Possible lateral distance…LR + 4″ + d6 movement)
Should look like this:
……………………………………………………….O …………………………………………………O………….O …………………………………………..O ……………………………………. O _______________ LR Ramp _______________
This will prevent blocking with three rhino chasis of both units. May block one, but too much distance to block both.
If you block LR, the terminators will advance unhindered, if you block the terminators the LR can advance and block the rhinos, etc.
Most likely the terminators will be blocked leaving you able to ram/shoot the rhinos with your LR or block 1 to 2 rhino chasis. Continue to target the middle vehicle as it has the least distance to travel to block your models and if immobilized can be used for a charge towards the objective.
As the video started mid table and the objective was 1-2 inches on the table, plus only needing to have one model within 3 inches of an objective to claim or contest, the starting point could not have been more than approximately 30 inches away. The first move described above would put you 17″ to 22″ closer. Leaving only another 8″ to 12″ to cover in two turns with a 6″ plus d6 run.

Tssss.. Sam could have easily just mowed down Darrel easily. But he’s not a 40k player so didn’t try. Assault Cannon every turn, Tank Shock/Ramming and assaulting with termies. Darrel stood still with some of the vehicles one turn, get the termies out, charge: 6*4 attacks that hits automatically, 24 attacks that needs 6 for glancing, giving you around 6 results and could easily stop a rhino from moving. During Darrel’s assault phase all those termies still in contact with the rhino gets to redo this all again and if you get 3 results of 5-6 during these total of 8 glances before your turn, you have a dead rhino. If you toss out your marines to try and stop the termies with bolters, you got a s6 ap3 flamer waiting for you, if you try to charge, you got way to many lightning claws in your face. Against this set-up, I could easily get to the objective turn 3. *rant rant* Not to forget, missing a Multi-Melta and Assault Termies would at least have some hammers as well mixed in.
Love to see him try doing that to an Achilies Land Raider. Ive been stung by this tactic a fair few times, hence my current project includes MM/MM land speeders to tear light tanks apart and counter block when needed.
i have been play testing the kroot army list. they play pritty much like orcs. but i did this with the troops. surround the troop carriers with my big squads and with fleet you can make sure you have the enemy spending more time trying to get his troops out than act killing you or capturning objectives
I used a similar tactic against Orks at the weekend, I disembarked my ‘zerkers into combat then formed a wall around them (using terrain and enemy models to complete the wall). The main purpose of this was to force Boss Zagstruk to deepstrike away from my ‘zerkers and allow me to counterattack more effectively.
Still , no sexy female assistant a dude with long hair does not count, come on bow try a bit harder.

that’s why multi-melta`s on a LR is a must, drive up and multi-melta the crap out of it. Like strength 8 AP 1 with 24″ range on an mainly amour 10. Wait wasn’t there a rhino (smoldering ashes)
Looks fun and effective! Probably wouldnt work for me tho. Id just get shot down or would make a mistake somewhere.
