@elromanozo hey man i noticed that you have a vast line of blue tones in your paint layout on the desk, is that just random or is that down to your own choice?
Ah, well… That’s just because I did a lot of blue in another tutorial, and we kept the set ! I generally like to spread out my hues in an orderly fashion where I can reach them, preferably the choice of tones I think I will be using. It helps when you don’t have to rummage through paint mid-tutorial ! 🙂
Some unique color choices. It’ll be interesting to see what get’s done to each and how they develop.
He’s starting to look good
yep, starting to look better
Looking good always interesting to see the process that leads to the end but I’m sure that end will be amazing as always
Can’t wait to see to final result.
Interesting choice of colors
Wonder how the final colours will look
Are the colours not deliberately bright and punchy to go with the game style and look? Looking good so far 🙂
Thanks for noticing ! 🙂
Yes, Part Two. Now Part Three pleeeeaaassseeee
Wow, some of the Myth videos are logging me out when I pull them up to watch so I cannot comment on them. 🙁
They look like great sculpts to paint
Will you please do longer videos…. these may be short and sweet like a roasted maggot but longer is longer…. to paraphrase Warren
Ah, well, that’s up to the editing team… Also, you can’t please everyone. Some people like it short, some people like it long…
Lets see when it is finished, so far Its veyr well painted but the colour scheme is just too bright for me.
It gets darker… But this is a cartoony figure, so I wanted to keep it kind of exuberant, not too dark.
Coming along very nicely
I wish I could paint minis better.
Not a big fan of the color scheme… Waiting for the finished miniature. 🙂
A bit right for my taste. Will reserve judgement for now though

That’s my Wednesday fix of Romain painting taken care of.
I was looking forward to seeing how Romain would do ginger hair for this guy. Having looked again at the basic color scheme so far, I can understand how green hair will look better considering the “cartoony” nature of the sculpt.
I think Romain should have his own regular hour-long show. I for one would love to put on the old smoking jacket, pull up the paint table next to a warm fire with a glass of fine beverage, and listen to him wax lyrical about painting technique and sundry musings. These ten minute clips just aren’t enough.
I heartily agree.
I have to agree, please give Romain his own regular show, ten minutes really isn’t enough.
Thanks for the support, guys ! Glad to know a weekly tutorial on backstage isn’t enough for you… lol.
I was worried about the choice of a redhead after you opted for an orange hued brown. The switch to turquoise makes sense for contrast.
Personally not a manga fan but I see why it works.
Eagerly awaiting part three.
Looking great! This may be the first time I actually try to mimic exactly what you’re doing in a tutorial.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product
I love the bright colours, looking forward to see the final result.
bring on the myth magic
This guy is the Bob Ross of mini painting…LOL
Looking good so far though!
He’s looking good. 🙂
Getting there… getting there…
A interesting mix of colours.
I like the combo of colors. Nice contrast, should make everything stand out, while remaining muted. Love watching the process
very strange choice of color palette . Maybe will final result be more interesting bur for now i am not impressed
Well, you can’t please everyone… I do not mean to “impress” with a colour scheme (how would one even do that ? One can only impress with virtuosity in pulling off an artistic choice…). I am actually not trying to awe people… As long as you learn something from the technique and composition, or the harmony, the hues aren’t that important, though: just use the colours you like for your minis… I am NOT dictating recipes, much less trying to grab people’s attention (imagine simply watching me paint without explanation or purpose… how dull ! Like watching paint dry…), I am, however, trying to teach techniques.
I fear bright colours when painting – but can see it’s right for this.
Thank for telling us about the paints splitting into, I have a few jars like that myself.
@elromanozo
What is the advantage of only using washes? I haven’t seen that in any tutorials. (I’m a newbie mini painter by the way)
The answer to that is a bit involved… Ah, you should probably watch the Technique Toolbox series that I did on various techniques… Right here on Beasts of War ! Just use the search engine.
Love these painting videos, thanks Romain!

Insert witticism there.
really cool looking game
Really enjoying this one, I often paint in a very dark and grimey style, its nice to see a more vibrant colour scheme with an unusual palette. There’s always something new to learn, keep up the good work Romain!
A really great tutorial can’t wait to see the model develop. Roll on part 3
My gaming group would love this game.
yet another great tutorial
Blimey!!! The arms of the miniature are awful…. Looking forward to seeing the finished paint job though :o)
Yes, they’re very spindly… This is due to the constraints of casting low quality in plastic. The original sculpt was much better proportioned, really, but you’ve got to remember that this is a game piece, not a proper miniature.
I like a more darker warrior. But thats my personal preference
loving the blue hair, might have to give it a go
another nice video
nice walkthrough
Starting to look really good. Can’t wait to see it done.
Looking forward to see how this turns out.
The blue/green hair is a bold choice but one that I think will suit the mini. Still can’t wait to see the finished article…
Makes it look so easy
So not a ginger then, a bluey.
I couldn’t afford the kickstarter, so I’d love a chance at winning a Myth bundle!
Im amazed at how much colour you get out of the washes, watched parts 1-3 all at once and now IM hanging for part 4
Wish I could paint this fast. A solo takes me around 2 days. Seems you could paint the whole box in that time.
I would hate to Myth out on thith opportunity to win the game!
Looking great. Thanks for the tips.
Pulling a ticket for the lottery …
not really sold on the paint scheme but somehow it works. maybe I will paint mine the same if I win 😛
As always with you, I can’t tell the colours just yet. You’re full of surprises!
Myth is a great game.
He is not scared of blue hair. I like the orange you went with. I want my acolyte to have salt & pepper hair when I paint mine
OK I’m totally sold on this game. Hope I win a copy. My fiance looks eager to try it too, could finally introduce her to miniature gaming lol 🙂
It’s coming together.
Myths looking good
We need more Romain.
This looks like a wonderful game
Winning comment here?
thank you for all the tips on painting figures
Another great themed week, the game looks awesome! Thanks guys!
awesome stuff, this game looks like a lot of fun
cool idea for the paint wouldn’t have done that myself and i wouldn’t have thought it could work. great work
Shade it
You myth’d a bit 🙂
Nice!
Looks ok, but I prefer the original art colour scheme so far.
Commenting for greater justice o/
Nice one! More please Romain
