After becoming a more important leader for the Yu Jing, the Pheasant Rank Agent is one all you Yu Jing players will be looking for.
Romain shows us how he paints this glorious warrior of the Emperor!

Excellent ide since from the infomartions revaeled by carlos in the yujing preview, the pheaseant will have an important role with the new (bigs) imperial units!
time to learn from the masters!

wow looks good wish i had those skills but may have learned a few things
Great timing i just got this modal in the starter box 🙂
really like what you did with periscopes on that cloak
Loving the Jade, very Imperial and fitting.
I like the vanilla color scheme more, but this looks good. Good tips also. The way of preventing stains when painting large areas by following details have never occurred to me before.
good stuff
i realy need to learn to water down my paints more
Aghh, why won’t these cursed hands of mine learn 🙁
I´ll have to paint that one for my regular gaming partner in the near future, probably I will steal some ideas here;)
GREAT, USEFULL video! Thank You!
I like this kind of nice, long tutorial. Having so much in one video makes it easier to find what your looking for within the tutorial. My thanks to Romain for the painting and Justin for the editing.
maybe if i wasn´t too lazy to paint 😛
Finished painting up my Hexas sniper and HaqqIslam Saladin last week. Time to learn a few more tricks from the master. Please paint some Alephs in the future as I just picked some up! 🙂
Nice colour choosing, I love that
as usual best part – close ups of fingers 🙂
Now this could be useful!
I simply adore Romain’s videos.
I have this model i may try to follow along!
He does a good job of explaining his process well.
I’ve had one unassembled for a while and this video has inspired me to put it together and paint it…
I enjoy these painting videos.
Beautiful model, beautiful paint job.
Have one and also a Crane Rank. Another great tutorial for Infinity. Thanks, Romain.
I want to know more about the new profiles coming for the Phesant. Spoil us, spoil us, BOW! Anyway, this video was very good. I wish my painting skills were up to even attempting quality like this. I do learn something every time I watch one of these videos though, so even if I’m going to be barely getting tabletop quality when I sit down to paint, it’s still worth watching.
Romain, what are your thoughts on using flow improver?
thanks,
JW
I don’t need it, most of the time, but that’s just how I paint.
It’s useful for having more time to blend fresh paint on large surfaces… It’s an invaluable tool for blending techniques that don’t use much transparency. It’s also useful for beginners, as it offers better control over the paint’s consistency.
That said, it can really slow you down… Flow improver and “mixing medium” slows down the drying time of your paint to a crawl (that’s the point). Use sparingly !
Well, to each his own, I guess.
R.
Thanks for the insight, I was thinking of using it and now I think I will just stay with using water.
Thanks,
JW
Thank you again for all the Infinity coverage. I am just getting into the game!
Roman you are a legend!
great tips, love these tutorials
useful video! thank you!
Great miniature that Imperial Agent!
excellent tutorial!!
I really love this miniature, considering getting it and the crane just to paint it since i dont play imperial and probably never will.
I think painting the shoulders, back scales and kneepads black would ad a little more contrast to it and making the orange/yellow look more vivid, separate the different areas a bit and draw attention to the head and the head tail thing.
Always liked having these videos on wile i paint my stuff.
Nice skills. Looks like I’ll have to brush up on my painting techniques!
nice blue colour
Nice to see Romain paint an Infinity fig!
I wish I had that skill with the brush… 🙁
Looking good. Can’t wait to see the finale.
Yu Jing have just an amazing model range, well all faction do, but…
tough challenge, since ppl will automatically compare it to A.Giradez paintjob.
I really like the miniature, well chosen.
in the end its all valleo paint, right? With the corresponding numbers??
Not at all…
I mainly used Warpaints (the Army Painter’s range) for this one, as well as some Vallejo (Panzer Aces, Game Color and Model Color) and P3 (Privateer Press).
Most colours have equivalents in Vallejo, though. I always try to give equivalences in several brands in my tutorials… if you have a question about a specific colour, don’t hesitate to ask !
BoW Romain
awsome, im doing all the lines with 90% waterdown black, tracing every line and he does it in one go,… awsome.
These videos make me feel like I can do this my self. After a little bit of practice.
That’s the idea ! 🙂
Finally got the time to sit back and watch. Worth the wait shall watch part 2 tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for the very warm compliments !
lovely job so far
Great video. We need more videos with Romain!
Finally I get to see a painting tutorial for Infinity!
Excellent beginning!
Great stuff Romain! Thanks for taking the time to do is. I find Infinity models to be a unique challenge.
Not my faction, but a very informative tutorial
Any chance we could see a Crane rank in this color scheme?
I try to never do the same colour scheme twice in tutorials…
If you want to paint a Crane agent in the same colour scheme (which I recommend), just do it the same way : The basic parts of the miniatures are the same… Coat, armor, sword…
I like step by step painting videos. Always you can see something new.
me want!
I am surprised you correct with white early. Maybe I should try to do this as well
this guy is an awesome painting teacher, I painted my whole black legion army base on his abbadon video. Keep it up your awesome:)
Great explanation, it realy shows that you realy like what u do and you doing great!
Necroing the heck outta this thread, but I’ve only just come to Infinity. Thanks guys for putting it up there – my paint skills are nought, and I’ve got 15 Haqq to get to grips with before a tourny in June, so I can use all of this kind of help that I can get. Especially useful, Romain, as I don’t have an airbrush (ie, to ape the “Gireldez” style), and to see different colour schemes being used.
Cheers!
