Games Workshop revealed four new Combat Patrols for you to snap up when diving into their grimdark Sci-Fi wargame, Warhammer 40,000. A bunch of new miniatures pop up as part of these new sets, covering four distinct factions/sub-factions.

Combat Patrol Red Corsairs - Warhammer 40K

Combat Patrol: Red Corsairs // Warhammer 40,000

We start with the hotness that is the Red Corsairs, who get themselves a deadly band of raiders for use amongst the ranks of the Chaos Space Marines. They are led by a Reave-Captain and five Red Corsair Raiders. Backing them up is a pack of ten Fellgor Ravagers, who give you some close combat support but also soak up incoming fire from the enemy so your Raiders can do the real business. Capping the set off, you also get a Chaos Rhino that will ferry your Raiders into the heart of the action.

A Knife In The Dark

If you prefer sneaking around in the darkness and leaping on your foes from unseen corners, you might want to instead go with the Night Lords.

Combat Patrol Night Lords - Warhammer 40K

Combat Patrol: Night Lords // Warhammer 40,000

Sowing far amongst their enemies, the Night Lords set comes with a Chaos Lord with a Jump Pack alongside five Chosen, ten Legionaries and a Chaos Rhino. You also get all of the bits and pieces for upgrading your Night Lords using the elements from the Nemesis Claw Kill Team. It's a shame that we didn't get to see some Raptors or Warp Talons in here for the Chaos Lord to fly around with but perhaps they might have been a bit too deadly.

Skilled Hunters

Switching things up to the Xenos, we also have a new Combat Patrol for the Kroot of the T'au Empire.

Combat Patrol Kroot - Warhammer 40K

Combat Patrol: Kroot // Warhammer 40,000

The Kroot now have enough rules and miniatures for you to run them as their own subfaction amongst the ranks of the T'au Empire. This Combat Patrol gives you a pretty good starting point for that with a Farstalker Kinband of ten Kroot and two Kroot Hounds sneaking onto the battlefield alongside a Lone-spear and a Krootox Rider, plus the three Krootox Rampagers. Hit fast and hard and then vanish back into the shadows.

Void Pirates

Last but not least, we go back to Corsairs with the addition of the Aeldari Corsairs option, which again features new miniatures for Warhammer 40,000.

Combat Patrol Aeldari Corsairs - Warhammer 40K

Combat Patrol: Aeldari Corsairs // Warhammer 40,000

This set introduces some key units for the Aeldari Corsairs into the mix for Warhammer 40,000. The deadly psyker Kharseth the Void Dreamer is joined by a squad of ten Corsair Voidreavers and five of the new Corsair Skyreavers. The Voidreavers and Kharseth can get to where they need to go with the aid of the Wave Serpent, which is also included.

This set also has options for someone looking to update an existing army. The Voidreavers can also be Voidscarred and the Wave Serpent can be turned into a Flacon grav-tank.

I quite like all of these Combat Patrols, which you'd think have been designed to work well with whatever changes come to the gamemode in 11th Edition Warhammer 40,000. They all come with a bunch of core units that would be good for someone starting out in Warhammer 40,000.

Will you be picking one of these up?
