Games Workshop Preview A Big Boss Nob For Warhammer 40,000
March 30, 2026 by brennon
Games Workshop has begun previewing the new miniatures from Warhammer 40,000 after the big reveal from last week at AdeptiCon. We start with the Orks getting an excellent new miniature in the form of this Ork Boss Nob!
Ork Boss Nob // Warhammer 40,000
When you dive into building an Ork army, the Boss Nobs are the ones that lead your mobs of Ork Boys into the midst of the fighting. Might is right when it comes to Ork society and this fella has managed to smash his way up the chain! He comes with a kustom shoota, a big choppa and a trophy rack which shows off some of the humies and beakies that this Boss Nob has killed.

As well as the weaponry that this fellow has armed himself with, he also comes with a little squig companion. We know that the miniatures from a starter box are often push-fit, which means there aren't going to be many other ways to build this fellow but I'd hope that we get two Boss Nobs to lead two different units of Ork Boyz!
What do you make of this new Ork? I think he looks great and ticks off a lot of the classic Ork requirements. He looks like he has just enough dakka!

That’s a nice big nob.
We’ll have none of that, mister.
Ohhhhhh Matron!
Way too clean and I don’t just mean the paint job. Where are the spiky bits? And where is his 3rd Dakka? New boys: gun, big gun and choppa. No nob would let himself be outgunned by the boys! Yeah, It’s a combi shooter but that still only counts as one! And what’s with the squig? to small to be useful! And the bosspole? Is that a bosspole for ants? Noo noooo noooo…. more bits, more dakka and more of everything. That’s just a slightly bigger boy. In all seriousness, that’s nothing that screams Waaagh at me. :S They did a way better job with the red terror resculpt.
GW have been normalizing da Orks for years now.
I doubt they’ll ever be as crazy as they were in those early days.
As you say … far too clean and pristine for a proper Ork, never mind an Ork Nob.
I hope there’s more options and bits in the box, but I doubt it.
He’s not bad, in fact I prefer him to the Warboss they previewed.
My thought is the community team must be desparate for website clicks, wake me when they actually do a proper reveal
As to the mini, a perfectly servicable ork if not so much to my taste. Its all a bit modern GW design, well executed and technically solid but overly safe and not exciting.
Agreed. They seem to be trying to build excitement when they know it’s a bit of mid-level effort.
Why does he have a fake clip-on beard though?
