Kickstarter Exclusive Blaine Render Pops Up From Mantic Games

Mantic Games are still accepting Late Pledges for their Star Saga Campaign which ran last year. You can find the Pledge Manager HERE if you want to jump in on the action. If you're still on the edge maybe this Kickstarter Exclusive Blaine might bring you round!

Blaine is a character that has appeared in all of the Mantic games to some degree and his appearance in Star Saga comes as the one behind your team heading out for adventure in the stars. This model allows you to get him down onto the table and duke it out with alien foes and more.

Good to see a really top flight render for the big man, especially since he has a large role in Star Saga. Definitely one of the best iterations of our favourite Pan dimensional/time hoping anti hero. Glad I have one of these on order

I believe the idea for Star Saga is thus.

You get X points to fill out your team of mercs to take on the dungeon. Each Merc and item of equipment has different costs. With Blaine (fully kitted out), he costs so many points that he takes the dungeon on solo (Chuck Norris style). So if you use Baine, you’ll not be taking any other mercs with you

Actually the test prototypes seen so far look very good (as good as TWD minis if not better), I would think these days that Mantic would do better to produce all their Warpath minis the same way (rather than multipart hard plastics on a sprue). The animation looks a lot better on the single piece casts (if they did 4-5 variants of each model….which is what you tend to get with the multiparts anyway).

Star Saga looks pretty good model wise, lets hope the rules are as good 🙂

This will look really good on an action figure-sized model….it is just too bad that most of the lovely details on that render will dissappear into minisculity when it scales down to the itsy bitsy thin truscale that mantic used for the warpath universe minis. and then add the slight softness in the details due to the plastic used. Not sure that TWD minis are comparable as they are much more beefy and heroic in proportions, with more exaggerated details that will look much better IRL.
