Team Yankee Boot Camp - Happy Sunday!
We kick things off with the Boot Camp on Sunday. Stay tuned to learn about the different achievements and such that we're going to be aiming for over the weekend.
As always there are some epic competition bundles to be won!
The Gamers Get Killin' In Team Yankee
The games have begun almost as soon as people stepped through the doors. They have been hunting achievements already...
Come and get stuck in with the Boot Campers and find out how easy these rules are to play for Team Yankee.
Achievements List
Gianna and Ben talk about the achievements that have been thought up for the day with some terrible accents...
Team Yankee Interview - Karen
We're talking with Karen about the Team Yankee Boot Camp and what she's enjoyed from this weekend.
As We Approach The End...
Lots of army men falling in battle for the good of Lloydoslavia. This seemed appropriate!
Sunday Morning Games
We're getting fired up for some big games where players are teaming up with each other to kick some US and Soviet ass respectively...
...stay tuned for a Battle Report soon.
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict
Game Three of the big Team Yankee show down saw the Soviets counter attacking the Lyodoslavian - Hungarian border defended by two US mechanised platoons and a pair of VADS AA Tanks (Shilkas as proxies...).
CommodoreRob & Commanderkaiser would take command of the Soviet ground forces and Helicopters, with Oriskany providing top cover in the Frogfoot. The US forces were split between Wayne07 & DaveBPG while Stusidle was keeping a watchful eye in the skies in a pair of A10 Warthogs.
Our story begins at dawn as the Soviets follow the main road heading towards the border crossing, captured by the US forces the previous day.
The US Infantry had spent the night digging foxholes and preparing their defensive positions, hoping to be able to hold out long enough for Armoured and Helicopter support to arrive before the Soviets arrived.
As the ground began to shake and the squeaking noise of treads rolled over the horizon... they realised with a sigh that today might not be their day after all.....
Team Yankee Interview - Ben
We're also chatting with Ben about Team Yankee and his experience with the game so far. He's been playing as Soviets throughout the three days...
...HINDS away!
Just In - The Eastern Charm
If you're a little tired of the American hits, don't worry we've got you covered with the ultimate Eastern European hit!
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Turn One)
The Americans have dug in in this first turn of the battle and the Soviets have rolled forward up the road with an eye to oust them from their fox holes.
The Frogfoot flew in but didn't manage to hit anything, instead blasting a house to smithereens! Some American reserves are powering in however to support.
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Turn Two)
There has been a lot of posturing from the sides as they move closer together. Interestingly the A10 flew in behind enemy lines and didn't manage to bring a single chopper down...
Look out for what's coming next as the armies get ready to bring each other down.
Team Yankee Boot Camp Kit Chat #3
We're back with Lewis to talk more about the Soviet Kit that he has bought along to the Team Yankee Boot Camp...
The Boot Campers
We've had a great time over this weekend and people have been getting stuck into discussing a lot about tactics and such over Sunday.
Boot Camps provide a great chance for like minded gamers to come together and discuss the games they love.
Tale Of Four Gamers: Soviets - Thoughts At The End?
We catch up with our Soviet players and find out whether or not they have done enough to impress our glorious leader Lloyd.
We've had a lot of fun with this one!
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Turn Three)
The US bought on some reserves this turn and were able to bring down a couple of the Soviet tanks which have taken up position right in front of the US soldiers who were dug in behind the hedges.
A strike from the air did nothing as it was scared off by AA and the infantry valiantly tried to bring down some of the approaching armour.
Things are looking dire for the US as the Soviets still have a whole host of HINDs in reserve. Next turn could prove to be bloody as the tanks finally just roll over the infantry.
Tale Of Four Gamers: US - Thoughts At The End?
We're now meeting up with our US players to see if they can hold the line against a relentless Soviet advance.
Would you have chosen US or Soviets after hearing the players thoughts?
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Turn Four)
The Soviets and the US have rolled into each other and despite some destruction from the Soviets, as the tanks and AA tried to hold them back, we've had some big successes on the US side.
The US managed to bring down FIVE HINDs and then bought in some reinforcements which have been pounding the Soviet tanks and forcing them to think again with their strategy.
Cobras have hunkered down and will be surprising the enemy as they pop up from behind the fuel tanks. Meanwhile the Abrams pick off a few of the forces in the open.
The game stands on a knife edge as the battle lines get incredibly close.
Team Yankee Boot Camp Kit Chat #4
We're now talking about the HIND Helmet that Lewis has bought along. You might have seen Justin wearing the inner part of this throughout the weekend...
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (America Strikes Back!)
Despite the US soldiers being run over by the Soviet tanks the Americans have been striking back.
Interestingly the Abrams have cleared the way and blasted apart a whole bunch of the Soviet tanks before then sending in some crunching shots to the side armour, brutally destroying around five of their number.
The dice have been on their side and the Soviets are still pushing in on the target objective however.
John's HIND Assembly!
John puts together one of the HINDS from the Soviet set letting you see how they go together. It's certainly one of the favourite Choppers from the weekend.
It's the one we sprayed gold and turned into Lloyd's Premier Chopper!
Battle Report - The Hungarian Border Conflict (Final!)
The final nail in the coffin came with some awesome rolls which ended up bringing the enemy low. The Soviets pushed forward but all sorts of American counterattacking push the Soviets off the objective and made for a US win.
It was looking hairy to begin with as the Soviets closed in around the US and crushed their infantry. With the US holding the line I'm sure the next Soviet counterattack won't be far behind.
Team Yankee Boot Camp - Helicopter Deathmatch - Canyon Chase
We've written up some rules for a Helicopter Deathmatch and have played out an awesome game with six of the people at the Boot Camp.
Come and learn the rules and head off to give it a go yourself with Cobras and HINDs!
Oriskany Takes Boot Campers Through World War 2.5
Going back in time slightly we have oriskany taking some of the Boot Camp members through his World War 2.5 game that you might remember from back during his article series earlier in the year.
They're just getting started now and this could have sowed the seeds for the inevitable Team Yankee we saw over the weekend.
Team Yankee Boot Camp - Helicopter Deathmatch Rules
You've seen some gameplay and now we have the rules for you. Check out the download for Team Yankee Helicopter Rules that both Anders and Gianna worked on over the weekend...
Download Link Here: //www.beastsofwar.com/downloads/Helicopter-Deathmatch.pdf
Download The History Of Lloydoslavia!
Thanks to oriskany we have an awesome download for you which is the history of the wonderful Lloydoslavia. Give it a download below...

Team Yankee Interview - John Paul Brisigotti
As things come to a close today we're talking with John Paul Brisigotti of Battlefront to talk about Team Yankee. You might have seen the interview earlier on Periscope but if not don't worry...
Get stuck in and find out more about the game from the head honcho.
The Final Song - NAME THIS BAND!
To round things off at the end of the Boot Camp we have a big 80's Metal anthem for you to enjoy.
See if you can guess the band in the comments...

If you like to gamble. I tell you I’m your man.
or my story of wargaing:
I lose some, I lose some it’s all the same to me.
Can’t argue with that.
Is there anyother way to start a sunday?
…Loud and fast! And my speakers go to 11.
That’s the Majesty of Rock for you
…and that’s a brillant song!
The first time I saw Motorhead I couldn’t hear properly for three days – first morning after the gig I felt sick and my ears felt like they were full of water. Awesome. Gigs now usually have a 2230hrs finishing time – bunch of girls!
Yeah, went to see them on a mates stag do, ended up in the same strip club as lemmy afterwards was a fun night lol, only band louder ive seen was machine head playing a secret gig in a shoe box
Onward!
This is an Interesting game. I love this Setting!
let the games begin 🙂
Ok I want those flags lol . Looks very cool guys . A job well done.
I am rooting for the Soviets
We keep listening news from the front! Italy will be out of the conflit…I hope only for a while
I think this game is all about those Soviets, Hinds and tanks, lots and lots of tanks,
Awesome looking game.
Def Leppard – Gods of War or Armageddon It would also work really well.
Looking forward to more great content on this awesome looking game
Get @lloyd on the decks! 😀
danger zone and this game! I need it! great vlogs
Will there be any form of “announcement” in the near future about how far they are going to extend the game nation wise/unit wise? Would be interesting to know.
Final day….much destruction to come
The game isn’t all about the soviets…US forces are stronger than they look like…
im very interested to hear what plans BF has with team yankee and what countries might join WW3
Any first impressions on balance?
Another Sunday spent with the Beasts I love and admire. 😀
The hype of the red hammer is real! I want some tanks!
Can’t wait to see the full range of models for this game.
when a tune comes on, whichever side the tune is most fitting for should get morale bonus, if the tune has “war” in the title both sides get a bonus lol
Amazing
We need Dimebag Darrel and Pantera Mouth for a war should fit the bill quite nicely….Rock on Happy Sunday
Good to see some girls taking part in the action! Would be great if I could only convince my wife to start a little wargaming. 🙁
I’m a lucky man. My wife and both daughters play.
Well this is going on the Christmas list. Now to find some players near me!
Why do I have to go to work today? would much rather stay at home and watch you guys!!
Would be interesting to see a scenario with the Americans on the offensive and whether that would benefit either side?
We need AC/DC’s “For those about the Rock” on the playlist
Love Motorhead!!! I’m seeing exploding tanks and APC’s erupting everywhere with this song blaring as a flight of Cobras come flying overhead!
The more i see of this the more i want to try it myself
Just before the nukes started to fly… SUNDAY!!!
Wonder if this game will scale up
Lets see what today brings 🙂
AAHHHH I missed everything so far and now i have this whole weekends worth of content to catch up on. Beer goggles dont fail me now
The team member wearing a tank crew helmet is looking a lot like Oddball. 😉
Are there gonna be other factions in the near future?
Great series guys good work love the music too!
Well, sitting watching this at work is bittersweet… but it does look awesome. Guess that’s something else for the Christmas list 🙂
Awesome content this weekend guys. Really looking forward to trying this game.
Did anybody play “dogs of war” by pink floyd or did I miss that.
happy sunday ……go soviets…..cant wait to try this game out 🙂
I think Lloyd with his golden chopper is 1 lab accident away from trying to take over the world
Im really looking forward to this as much as i was for Flames of War
It is the “Golden HIND” with its Captain Sir Francis Drake ^^
looking forward for the final result, will the Soviets prevail or will the Americans pull out a victory. I have really enjoyed this live blog, excellent terrain, models and music, given me loads of inspiration. Thanks guys.
Really wish I had the time today to follow this all day, but I’ve mised the morning already.
Have to get the Mrs to let me come to one of these
A lot of love for the golden hind!
Awesome Stuff Guys! will have to look in to this for my gaming group!
So, I’m curious as to how many folks at the Bootcamp actually read the book, “Team Yankee”?
Great show guys, Oh crap Happy Sunday( yes I went there). 🙂 love the reports like the idea of my girlfriend and I settling our disagreements on the gaming table if I can get here to play. the game seems to be good strait forward kill fest ( I like real much ). Thanks guys love it and the metal sound track brings back old memories, The Americans should have had a Ronald Reagan lookalike to go head to head with the Two bit pinko commie want be dictator PM for life of Llyodoslavian sir Lloyd . Thanks again guys great times Pepsidan . 🙂
Looks like you had fun!
What a fantastic weekend, thanks for sharing with us all! Very motivating.
Hm theres no Megaddeath Symhony of Destruction! Brennon whats wrong with u? 🙂
What a cool weekend, thanks guys and girls. Looking forward to getting my hands on this, hopefully for free 😉
Moucho moucho respecto all you lads n lasses! A full days wargaming after 2 nights on the beer. An almost superhuman effort!
All involved deserve major kudos for making this the success it has been. It looks like one amazing weekend from start to finish. I am also very impressed at the amount of support we are seeing at these boot camps from the Gaming industry – it has really helped to restore my faith in gaming companies again, after many years of being disillusioned by the way some of them have treated their fan base with utter arrogance and contempt, since I first got into table top wargaming in the late 1980s.
Very VERY well done folks – you are all great ambassadors for the hobby!
I can definitely see myself making a special playlist just to play this.
You could always throw in some Sabaton into the mix!
I think I need to embrace my Soviet side
I’m interested to see if BF unleashes some of the Special Operation forces that both countries have access to would be cool to see how they handle the Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and so on. Also a beauty that is altnerate history is to be able to run a story line with the game.
Modern(ish) technology really opens up some unique gaming options for sure!
Ok this is my last chance to try and win that bundle. This game has generated a lot of buzz for flames of war and battlefront in my local group. We actually don’t have a lot of flames of war options nearby. It’ sounds like this may change now that teamyankee is coming out .
Go US I was in the USAF during this time period.
TOWs vs. moving Helicopters ?!?!?
Seriously, TOWs are manually guided Air-to-Ground AT missiles. Shooting with those at a flying moving target is theoretically possible but in Reallife would be almost impossible to hit.
Looks like everybody had a great day. Thanks for sharing.
Can’t see my replies, so hope that went well.
Thanks for sharing.
What a great weekend, thanks for all the videos
Last day of the bootcamp. At least the weekender will be back next week.
So ends another boot camp. One of the favorite little things I’ve seen is the VHS degradation in the videos. Really brings in the 80’s nostalgia.
Really interested to pick up this game and see where it develops. Already planning out my future purchases. Probably a M109 field artillery battery and some M163 VADS for some ant-air protection.
Wish I had more time to join in on periscope.
With work and family life it’s not been possible. But I have just about kept up with the weekends content.
Thanks all for a great weekend of content.
The game looks like a lot of fun
Happy Sunday!
Awesome weekend guys! Its obvious that you have made good analyses of the earlier Boot Camps to make this one even better. I specially like that you hade a table for filming rules intro with Anders – Thumbs up! Looking forward to the next Boot Camp or BoW Campaign Weekend.
These boot camps give such a fantastic deeper insight into a game. The bolt action one totally changed my perspective of the game, I was buying figs a couple of weeks later. As useful as the demo videos are, the bootcamp coverage feels like I’m in the demo game, because we’re seeing it through the eyes of real gamers. Keep going with these. Even if I never make it to one, they are some of my favourite BoW content (after weekender).
Doing anymore periscopes today? It was a great idea!
Great show guys. As always wish i had more money to spend:)
Harold Coyle was my favorite author from 1985-1995. Team Yankee was a fantastic read, and now, finally, appears to be a fantastic game!
Thx for this great weekend and for the little vacation in Lloydislavia.
Do you plan a Dropfleet Commander Bootcamp? If so, count me in… ^^
Is it me or have i missed something? The flavor of the US forces is hi-tech better gear and the soviets are just cheaper and less techy; there has to be a bit more to the Soviets than that. Nothing has jumped out at me about the 2 starting armies that makes them feel US or Soviet apart from the amount of models you have on the table.
There are – we did try a Blue on Blue game and the lower power of the M1 105 gun made the M1 rather hard to kill, it chaged the game so it became about the 2 infantry blocks running into each other, and the cobra battling it out for the sky.
Yes shooting down Cobras with TOW missiles seem wrong but it seem to be an AA version they made just for the invasion of Lloydoslavia – or as it is a game to try to keep it simple
@rasmus, I have checked the TY rule book and ATGM weapons can indeed fire on aircraft, but only helicopters. Fast air (A-10/Su-25) can only be engaged by dedicated AA.
There are recorded cases of aircraft being shot down by anti-tank missile systems and they are obviously a one-in-a-thousand kind of shot but even a one-in-a-thousand shot lands sometime 🙂
Sure under the rules it can be done, and having to buy each of the weaponpods at list creation would add complications to the game with little gain – I full understand game design wise why it is so. Calling them “guided missiles” and not TOW on the card might be less grading for me 😉
Go, Go, Go, Americans! Shoot back them dastardly Soviets! Take the fight in Lloydoslavia! =D
This game looks very interesting, any word if they’ll do other nations?
Well, been a great week full of laughs, tears, metal, and beer. My only hope is that the game gets popular around where I live so I can play it down at my hobby store.
Seem like it was just a great weekend for you guys and wonderful videos I hope to see more of team Yankee Hill and beast of war
Happy sunday and congrats on a great boot camp. I have had a blast watching this throughout the weekend from home. Really did inspire me to get stuck in with team yankee when it hits the stores
Thanks for the Team Yankee Boot camp!
It was awesome and brought back memories
of my time in Germany in the 80’s when I was
still in forces.
Can’t wait to put my hand on this games….
I am so going to get this game as it looks so good
I really hope they continue Cold War stuff in general and add more units
Another great boot camp weekend well done beasts of war and long live Lloydaslavia!
Be good to see Brits next, and let’s get more coloured sprays so boot campers don’t have to play in bare plastic.
Might have sprayed them, but BoW is in N.I. so the amount of “irish mist” falling from the sky made sure that did not happen
Awesome, I can’t wait to get my hands on TY. So many things I like out of this game and me being a veteran makes it more fun to play, and really get into it.
I’ve been enjoying all the coverage on the boot camp and wish I could have been there but being from the other side of the pond makes it a bit hard.
Great job guys.
Brother G
It’s been a great weekends coverage guys.
Wish I had been there for the fun and the models
While everything shown off looks great, I am really looking forward to the complete line of vehicles and infantry. Should make for some truly epic games from this era…
I like the era this is based on, I do hope that they stick with this and don’t go more modern.
Looks like a great game and weekend
Great boot camp.
Anyone know where I can find the U.S army lists if anywhere so I can start building my force before my rules arrive
What a great looking game at yet another great looking bootcamp weekend played on some great looking scenery thanks to his high and mightyness comrade Lloyd played by some grat looking bootcampers organised by some great looling BoWers (well may be not greata looking!).
I really wish I could have made it but it wasn’t to be this time.
Thanks for letting us share the fun and games with you all.
Well done all those involved.
I got home safe.
Shame me and @setesch had to leave so early though.
I’ll just be waiting for those PMs from @benc and @s14forever for more games.
And Plan a trip down to Bristol to visit @stusidle ‘s pub and gamingclub.
Great weekend, great people.
My only regret is that I forgot to ask for a resin T72 🙁
Anders, if you get this… Pretty please?
I may need to join Backstage to get those designs from this event. Nice work on the building designs! I trust it won’t offend anyone if I eventually build my grain silos from beer cans. The downside is that I could drink a six-pack of 16-oz. Budweisers and probably still be able to paint well enough. Are there any GOOD beers in cans that I could actually acquire in the US?
Team Yankee looks like a fun, reminds me of Company Commander from back in the day. I’ll have to look in the loft to see if i still have the rules
Excellent weekend! Lots of coverage for those of us that couldn’t make it to Beasts of War HQ. To those that aren’t members of Backstage, nows a great time to join and get those PDFs. I’ve got mine already and I’m having the printers run them off for me as we speak.
I have a late addition to yor playlist: AC/DC – Highway to hell
I had once a homemade CoSim-game were I used a small road trying to flank NATO with my MotRifles. After an Ambush by AntiTank helicopters it immediatley remembered to this song…
3 and a half hours later I have managed to dig through the whole two amazing days of content. I am just going to say that it was a blast for me to read about it, see the pics and watch the videos. So, if it is a blast to see this stuff online what magical atmosphere must have been there on the spot. Eh, I am really jealous.
Love the A10 warthogs, really looking forward to playing with them.
Just so upset that the rest of us have to wait another couple of weeks to get hold of our preorders.
Our local store says they have at least twice the pre orders for this as any other Battlefront release, so looking very positive. Also lucky that they guys from Breakthrough Assult are regulars at the store, so know there will be some great events coming up.
Thanks everyone at BOW, it was fun following along all weekend, even if i”m a bit jealous.
A big big thank you to Beasts of war for putting all this hard work in to this amazing boot camp! To think all this has taken place within the space of one weekend is just phenomenal! All the pics show really happy wargamers having a lot of fun – and that’s all that matters, we do this hobby to have fun! Well done beasts of war you guys ROCK!
Really nice bootcamp. Team Yankee seems to be a real step up for FoW. It will be quite interesting what is down the road for this games and maybe a fourth edition of FoW.
aubergines on special next week then?
Hmm, who was manning the helm today that was different from Friday’s and Saturday’s blogs?
Putting the latest on the top of the scroll lost all tension and suspense for me as to who won, etc. Doing that the other 2 days would have had eating before going to the pub, playing and then assembling the models. Scroll down, not up.
Thanks for the reports.
While it is active the newest entry go on to, then when the blog is closed it is reversed
looks real good indeed as always well presented beasts of war cheered up a miserable Shetland day….
Carl
Looks to have been enormous fun!!! I now plan on watching and reading every single blog entry 😀
Team Yankee is definitely looking interesting…
Three days well spent watching everyone and looking forward to getting my own.
and a big thanks to Gianna, a blinder by you all.
Great live blog BoW!
Really looking forward to this
Looks rather interesting…give me the Russians oh yeah. Just saw the Day 3 video update..pretty cool.
I can not wait to see kits with my own eye.
Busy weekend so I couldn’t follow along, but catching up with the videos now. Looks like another success for bootcamps. I’m liking those planes and helicopters, and the game seems to have a lot going for it too.
Great picture of all the participants and organisers together. Warren is looking fully amped! Great weekends these boot camps for everyone involved at the Studio and watching online.
Commenting away… this is my first boot camp and they are awesome. Looking forward to some freebies and getting team yankee
This does look amazeballs
Looking great !!! Luv the figs great concept by BF !!!
I must admit to wanting to learn more about the proud struggle of the oppressed peoples of Lloydislavia. Will there be any further excursions to it in future?
Great coverage over the whole weekend, and fantastic that you were able to get Battlefronts input as well. Just a shame it couldn’t be tied into the launch proper due to the delay.
Looks great, already a flames of war player will have to get into this
Nice!
I’m already waiting for the next bootcamp 🙂
Yeah love WW 3 games
Looks like an incredible weekend, and is Justin, oddballs love child, the resemblance… its just too uncanny.
Seriously, I’ve helped out with three boot camps, and this was by far the most fun.
Za Rodinu!
Silverware I don’t care I get hammered everywhere!!
I’ am still hesitate which army should I choose? Mi 24 and BMP are really cool but in the other hand abrams and A-10 are also great. So the only solution is to buy two armies.
I think this game is going to create a lot of excitement. From what I can see from the videos and the previews the rules of been taken down a notch and simplified. Which is great because that is one reason that I didn’t jump into Flames of War, I tried but it was daunting. With unit cards that helps some of old disgruntled DUST players feel better about that situation. The setting is wonderful because I think it is full of unit and equipment potential to be tried and tested. It also allows for some great fictional scenarios and the inclusion of a lot of factions or allies that were all geared and ready for war. Modern terrain either using Battlefront or 4Ground will be great and it is easy to relate to for many gamers. It is a nice bridge between historical gaming and fictional gaming. My only problem is the lack of an affordable two player set. I think something in the 100-125$ price range would have been nice to get things going. The separate sets are full of units and kit but introducing the game would have been easier with a nice two player starter. So hopefully I win this prize draw and get some more players interested.
Wondering if they will expand the nations.
A great weekends worth of video and content. Although I missed it as a live piece it was really good to see and read them all back to back. Team Yankee is a great expansion to their range and can’t wait to see what else they will be bringing out.
Ok, gettin’ jazzed about this… seems quite a few people local to me are also. And failing all of that Ill at least use teh minis for CoC Red Dawn.
Happy Sunday!
Good job on the coverage guys and gals, I love the cheesey ’80’s TV inspired intro to the videos and the metal soundtrack for the weekend. Also, the history of Lloydoslavia is wonderful.
I want m2 a2 Bradley’s next
Peh, tanks.
Nothing a stout line of redcoats in pith helmets couldn’t sort out
Introduced to Motörheads music after hearing Lemmy sing with The Damned.
Have enjoyed the trip through music memory lane and bringing back my boyhood wargaming.
All we need now is a Team Yankee battle of the Ruhr valley set.
All these boot camps are awesome, keep them coming.
Looked like a ton of fun. Interesting to see what happens as the war progresses.
Sounds like a really good time 🙂 Especially using fictional countries in hypothetical situations as a crux for playing out WW3. I’m not a fan of metal so I don’t mesh that way though.
I now have a new link for rick rolls again.
The Golden Hind?
Hi, there was also a comic /graphic novel of Team Yankee back in the eighties…Goodness, doesn’t feel that long ago.
I’ve wanted a game like this since my days playing Steel Panthers for the computer. Playing scenarios where there seemed to be an endless supply of Soviet AFVs and Tanks pouring towards your lines… I really love so much of what they put into this game. And great job Beasts putting together what looked like a stellar weekend.
Out here Downunder we have, we believe the only wargame club in Australia
playing Cold War games in Australia. As many of also play Flames of War
this game is likely to E.X.P.L.O.D.E at our club. I have read Team Yankee
(the novel) a number of times and often wondered what it would be like to play the
Battle scenes as a wargame. It seems Christmas wishes do come true.
Thanks Santa!
Давай
I so look forward to getting into Team Yanky. As a teen in the 80’s the period is near and dear to my heart. Wolverines!!!
Gonna have to try to get across the water and attend a boot camp one of these days as well.
So much buzz about this game at my local shop! The owner wants to put it in rotation with our Sunday games.
incredible liveblog guys, congratulations again, lots of excitement to play this game for sure, also with 80s, 90s soundtrack.
Thanks it looks great. I like the Lloydoslavia theme. I am very tempted to paint up a force of Soviet veterans from the fighting for Salisburistan (Adelaide gamers will understand). Or maybe paint them as Finns?
Although it’s a Cold War nation, I hope Lloydislavia returns in future battles in other games. Is it possible that archeological digs will reveal its turbulent history as home to a frozen city of mystical properties? I’m sure that many battles of WW1 and WW2 were fought there. Perhaps in the far future Lloydislavia will venture into space and be a force to be reckoned with.
I’ve been a little busy this week, we’ve been rebuilding the damage at the plant…
After my 14 hour shift of cultural enrichment at the People’s Glorious Processing and Canning Plant of the Mighty Aubergine (Factory #23, its just to west of Factory #57), I take heart the words of our Greatest Shock Worker, our Beloved Leader, Comrade Lloydoslav Llydovich Lloydozinsky.
“All political power comes from a pocket full of miniature Aubergines.”
I am humbled knowing that our soldiers of our little nation, who fought the Warmongering Imperialists to a stand still, had pockets overflowing with the sacred aubergines the Beloved Leader Lloyd spoke of. These humble peasant soldiers had the correct political stance to stand firm with proper revolutionary zeal and stop the Imperialists from destroying our homes and our people! They are an example to all! I and the workers’ of our proud land are forever in their debt. Glory to the greatest army of the working class, the National People’s Liberation Army of Lloydoslavia!
I have noticed that the cronies of the warmongering imperialists at the aptly named “Beasts of War” have yet to fulfill their promises… typical of the bourgeoisie classes. World suffering is littered with their empty promises. Maybe they will see the error of their ways in a week or so…
Alas, my fifteen minute break is over. Its time for me to start another shift…
